Now at 75yrs old, to be able to see it in it's entirety from above has made my day. I can no longer walk the distances so thank you. Sadly the attitude of the staff l found quite distressing.... it seems to me that we all need to become human rights activist in order to protect our rights. Learning the laws that protect our human rights is so important & all these auditing videos have helped us to remember that & are certainly an education for both sides of the argument. Back in the early eighties, l had my own wedding video business & not once did anyone object to being filmed, it was the opposite. Those were the days. So grateful to you Dan, stay safe & thank you
All property is owned by somebody. It's owned by the crown, but not their personal property. Crown properties are run by boards who decides how they're funded for the up keep, similar to English Heritage & National Trust etc. Meaning they don't have any special laws to protect them. They're no different for any other place, they can say what you can and can't on their land but can't dictate what you can do outside their boundary or in the air. There's beaches in North Norfolk that are crown property, they say you can't light BBQs and metal detecting etc, but you can still fly a drone above it.

Crown land is conquered land. Literally the whole island of GB was considered as taken by the big man himself in 1066 and everything land ownership wise since is just an outworking of that event and divvying up the land loot.
Let's forget the negative and derogatory comments, that drone footage was amazing. I lived near the site for many years but did not appreciate how vast and beautiful it was. This footage will surely only encourage people to visit because you cannot comprehend the enormity of the site from the ground. Even the ornate garden features are probably missed from ground level. Thank you Dan for flexing OUR rights and showing us the splendour of this palace.

I found it quite amusing how the ladies read out the drone laws which affirm DJE was acting within the law, yet somehow they all managed to completely misunderstand the law and somehow believe the words they read mean it was unlawful. How does a person read "this is lawful" and their brain interpret it as "this is unlawful" ?
It's beautiful, although I am a London boy, I have never visited it. I think that I will treat my family to a day out. We're in the West Country now but it's only a couple of hours at most. My sons and their partners will be impressed and my granddaughter will have the time of her life. Thanks for this one Dan.

You don't need anyone's permission to film them. Obviously if the film is being used for illegal purposes, then that's another matter. GDPR has got nothing to do with it though. GDPR is concerned with information gathering such as personal information on bank accounts etc and passing on that information without consent to third parties. If consent were needed before filming someone, then all of the CCTV filming across the land would be illegal. 14:42
