That ramp looks so fun and so solid. Thecoping takes it up another level. Great point on size and skating alone. Great job all around. I hadn't even considered building a ramp with an eye toward concrete later but, maybe.
dude! thank you for making this! im surprised how much flat bottom you got but that makes since! Also the natural cracking is sick! Lots of good info in this vid!
Steel fiber mesh added to the concrete really reduces cracks, its a little harder to finish but very strong, $40 extra per yd though. Dig all your diy videos, build it and they will sk8, Thanks Zach
Nice job man it looks fantastic and good on ya for getting it official from the city and being friendly with your neighbors. My buddies had a great mini ramp and their house was a skate stop for teams and such passing through - but it was all in violation of city bylaws and had neighbor complaints so it had to get torn down.
I've been piecemealing for 10 years, it never ends but love what you're doing. I"m working to build little things that work for me, ledges, manny pad, small rail. Nothing major. Mini on the list but that's a skill I don't have.
i was thinking maybe if you have room to dig ,it would be cheaper to make a bowl. i have been going back and forth on the idea of making a small clam shell type bank in my yard.
Really like how u did the underneath storage and fill less or no block wall for the decks on the quaters! I wanted to do this but cldnt find enough info on how to online. I have some experience w concrete but used to be a mostly wood builder. Ive seen people do the pvc footings/legs.
could have put metal coping and filled the coping with concrete. that might have made it quieter too. and you could have cut the seams and filled them with resen or something too. I'm just coming up with ideas I don't know if any of what I'm saying are good ideas or not. sick ramp though looks like a dream 😁
I wonder if covering the forms and plastic before pouring the concrete would have helped. If the main problem was the concrete sticking to the wood doesn't seem like it would have been a bad idea
You're backyard is really nice. Everything apears new and well maintained. Theres no distractions in the background at all. I'd be embarrassed to do TH-cam videos myself cause I have nothing but dirt and weeds around my ramp. 😅
ive been looking at oc and keen and the flat parts look too short, when you watch people skate them, you can see they're immediately hit with the other side. the only pre made one i like is cody's lol.
i didnt even consider that noise might be an issue. this ramp should be really quiet. if nobodoy did any grinds or tail slaps it would be barely audible
Just laid a big concrete pad concrete guys said " do cuts with a saw " but I'm glad I said no to them, hairline cracks are way better to skate and I saved money on labor
How very non skater of you to ask for permit lmao jk beautiful build dude I love the concrete and pool coping idea leaning more this way now for my own
10k is not insane if you paid 6k, the other company has to turn a profit. Im sure that 6k figure is a little higher with other things you probably didnt figure in.
I bet it’s quieter than a wood ramp too. You could hear WHOMPWHOMP WHOMPWHOMP when I had ramps which had to be annoying for my neighbors especially our late night sessions. We had punk band practice too, worse neighbors ever.
I'm not in a good mood so you're getting a complaint to make to me feel better. There are no natural pauses and you sound like one long mumble. Other than that, beautiful ramp, well done, very impressive.
@@harleyrobles560 Pauses don't sound artificial, we all pause between sentences when we speak to each other. It's perfectly natural. He can talk in his normal voice, and have pauses, and not sound like a youtube vlogger. Ironically what he's done is sound like a youtube vlogger by clipping out every space between sentences. People never used to edit out pauses until the last few years. Plus he does mumble a bit. Anyway, who really cares, he can do what he wants. I just felt like moaning, and hopefully didn't offend him.

I love the look of it. Living the life!

they recycled some chain link fence for mesh at FDR skate park. thats a dyi skatepark here in philly and they used it EVERYWHERE lol!
It will still eventually crack.
@@MB-vk8cv He should made steel concrete reinforcement more dense.

Federal Stone is awesome pool coping as well.
You killed it! 🛠️

Nice work mate looks like a fun ramp. Impressed by your linguistic skills mate.. speedy and an Aussie bloke can still understand every word 👍 👍

living the dream bro! big ups.
That's such a cool looking mini ramp. I've never even considered a concrete ramp for a backyard but it's rad you were able to pull it off.
i like how the dogs love the ramp
dog just chill
Amazing mini ramp ❤ as long as theres enough deck to bail it's all good.😂

metal coping won't make that much nose if it's stuck to the concrete or if the tube is full of concrete or anything which will stop the resonnance
Dream mini ramp. Its perfect.
Great Video and that is my dream too to have a backyard ramp. From SD now in FL so trying to make that a reality! Agree, let it crack naturally.
Amazing video man also I finally gripped my first board last night it was so fun ❤😂🎉

Weeds are good for you and the planet! The outside world isn't supposed to be sterile and plastic.
this is pretty dope, no lie
this guy is the definition of a hard working, Carhartt wearing man. Don't forget it folks.
Actually does carharrt shit lmaooo
12:56 let's get this man an acre

Did you have to apply a concrete sealer?
i didnt even consider that noise might be an issue. this ramp should be really quiet. if nobodoy did any grinds or tail slaps it would be barely audible
they'd also be barely skating LOL
@@darklight4815 if you put spacers in your wheels it will be pure silent hell
Give me masonite and black steel coping all day. Concrete everywhere is great, but all the shuffling, sliding, reverting is kind of lost by necessity.
It is too late to tell it but.. I would made steel concrete reinforcement more dense. Also: make concrete (not gravel) floor in those storages.
Clean

They have no idea.
that what i am good in saving money cost in this but it is a hard working.. it is true but everytime you save it is good
Right on!!! What a Bitchen product you built!!! Enjoy!!!
@1:14 who measures liike this lol, dig the ramp but bud drop that tip the ground and your damn near at eye level
How very non skater of you to ask for permit lmao jk beautiful build dude I love the concrete and pool coping idea leaning more this way now for my own
Every backyard ramp should be built according to the space. Mine is too steep and too short by most standards, but that just adds to the character.
10k is not insane if you paid 6k, the other company has to turn a profit. Im sure that 6k figure is a little higher with other things you probably didnt figure in.
My neighbors gonna hate me
Zack. Can you do a balance exercise video? Like things you can do at home and the gym....
Use a bosu ball
get a brain and then go try to use it and think for yourself. Thats advice.

Thoes natrual pauses tend to sound artificial. I prefer that he talks in his normal voice rather than doing the fake youtube vlogger cadence

Yeah editing every small pause out isn't good. I'm glad that trend died off

У меня вот нет мини рампы а Зак смог, хоть кто делал, главное она вместо огорода
Maybe instead of a 17 minute video stretch it out to 30 minutes. That way you can talk at normal speed and have time to inhale.
Probably not as fun to skate as a wooden mini.
do you breathe?
You talk with alot of words! It sounds like a machine gun. The common term is motor mouth. Sorry I don't mean to offend, just an observation.
It also seems like he is sort of whispering. Like he doesn't want neighbors to hear him talking
