    Why Tulsi Cursed Vishnu?
The story of Jalandhara and Vrinda is another captivating story from the treasure of Hinduism. Vrinda’s purity was the reason that was driving her husband, Jalandhara’s invincibility. Lord Vishnu had to resort to trickery in order to defeat Jalandhara and in the process, he was cursed by Vrinda.
This story also describes why Sita had to be separated from Rama, because of curse of Vrinda and why Vrinda is treated with respect in Hinduism as the wife of Vishnu.
Vishnu then created an illusion that Jalandhara was killed by Shiva and brought back to life by him. Vrinda then embraces Jalandhara who was actually Lord Vishnu in disguise. This destroyed her chastity. Vrinda realised that it was Vishnu in disguise. She cried and wailed at the loss of her chastity. Deeply saddened and infuriated about everything that happened, she cursed Vishnu that his wife will also be abducted by someone which came true in Treta yuga when Ravana abducted Sita, the wife of Vishnu’s seventh incarnation. Upon cursing Vishnu, Vrinda sacrificed herself. In the meantime, Jalandhara was killed by Lord Shiva with his trident after which his soul merged with Lord Shiva.
After her death, Vrinda was blessed by Vishnu that since he destroyed her chastity, he would marry her. Vrinda became the Tulsi plant in her next birth and she was blessed with the boon of becoming the wife of Lord Vishnu. Hence, the significance of the Tulsi Vivah across various parts of India.

@@jaydutta7711 Actually, @klicker rian is correct. Demon, as a word from the English language doesn't do complete justice to what this different class of humanoid figure Asura, Danavas, Yakshas and Pishachas were. This word, coined from Latin and Greek words, simply means a supernatural entity, which all the above-mentioned classes are. There are countless examples of Asuras who were basically 'good', King Bali, Prahalad and Vibhishan to name a few which are major characters with popular lore. All three of these characters were Asuras but were not evil whereas the term Demon simply means "An evil entity".
This is a classic example of being lost in translation as languages are complex and translations can distort the subject matter easily.

The chastity doesn't mean virginity, it's a different concept unlike virginity. The God destroyed the chastity of Vrinda, not vírginity. Chastity is connected to the mind, not physical body. A human don't need to sleep with God to break her chastity or to have a child. For example, in Mahabharata, Kunti asked a child as a boon from Sun god (Suriya dev), so that doesn't mean she slept with Suriya dev, she just asked 3 Pandav with her husband.
Same here with GOD Vishnu and Vrinda story, lord Vishnu only appeared infront of Vrinda to create confusions in her *_subconscious mind_* & heart, and once her little confusion grew, the barrier of her chastity that was making Vishnu to protect her demón husband Jalandhar (asur) got weakened, which was bonded by Vrinda for her devotion towards lord Vishnu.

The logic of Ramayana was for the time of Tretayuga which obviously won't match with the logic of 21st century.

The Trinity of Lord Bramha, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are ONE SINGLE INFINITE ENERGY which governs the whole universe. Mother Nature is part of this enormous cycle of creation, destruction and recreation. Hinduism teaches us to respects that devine scientific energy and follow positive karmic acts to maintain balance in this energy equation. We humans don't own this planet, hence we don't have the right to destroy its resources either. Greed has taken over and inequality in society is rising which is again the sign of imbalance in that energy equation. Let us all help the needy, the poor, the sick and bring back the energy balance to stability. Jai Matha Di.

All the stories aside. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are one and the same. Both represent the ultimate God who created everything in the universe.
Keeping in mind the omnipotency and Omnipresence of the God( Shiva and Vishnu) all these stories seems so not so important. Our Hinduism is all about Bhakti , karma , yoga and moksha. All these stories in Puranas project our beloved God's as human kind, where as they are not in real. Our supreme God's are immeasurable, impenetrable and unknowable to our limited sense organs and brain. Let's us keep our Beloved God's in highest pedastal independent to our perception . Our personification of them is for our bhakti, but in reality they are above gunas and prakriti. Let us not limit our definition of lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu to human contexts. They are more deeper than black hole and more brighter than all stars put together. Let us not forget 4 % of universe which our God created is only matter. Even our beloved God's are above Space- time and above 11 dimensions.

Question - in Hinduism, purity and chastity are most sacred. But unless mentioned specifically as loss of purity, chastity or innocence, do the females figure it out before partaking in adulterous acts or are we just trying to be subtle and ambiguous or vague? Like in Roman and Greek retellings, the gods and demigods frequently slept with human woman either by deceit or consensual permission. Is that true for Hinduism stories as well? For example Kunti is portrayed as wishing for a child by different gods and stories make it seem kids just appeared or was she actually impregnated? Trying to understand if we are being vague on purpose or whether nothing hanky Panky actually went on. Thanks for your awesome videos!

*@Siddharth Mani* Vrinda never lost her purity, she was pure even after losing her chastity. LORD Vishnu blessed Vrinda to have him as her lord husband because she wanted lord Vishnu as her husband before marrying Jalandhar. Jalandhar later manipulated Vrinda to marry him, but she wanted the God as her husband even since her past lives. And that's why at the end when she finally remembered everything and realised what went wrong, she did prayed to God Vishnu again, to accept her as his wife, and hence the God fulfilled her wish as Tulsi and Shaligram shila. And speaking of the *"chastity,"* then it's very important to know that chastity of a woman, doesn't mean her virginity, it's a different concept unlike virginity. The God destroyed the chastity of Vrinda, not her vírginity, by stopping her prayers to the God, which caused Jalandhar's death in the battlefield against lord Shiva, as lord Vishnu immediately took off his protection from Jalandhar as soon as Vrinda stopped praying to him.
The chastity is connected to the mind, not to physical body. A human don't need to sleep with an another person to break her chastity, her chastity can be destroyed even if she could not completed the task what she had taken an oath before related to spirituality. @@Mintoomani She did not choose the death, she chose liberation from her present life after getting enlightened by her God whom she had been worshipping for multiple incarnations. And hence she wanted SALVATION at the end to get merged with her lord Vishnu.
And she cúrsed her lord *inadvertently,* not knowingly before getting enlightened. She did not even know it was her lord Vishnu who stopped her prayers, as the lord was disguised in her husband's form, that's why she cúrsed him by thinking someone has caused her husband's death by stopping her prayers to the God, which is an offense for humans. And don't forget the fact that supreme God Vishnu is a GOD of balance and life - so all the actions of Vishnu is in that direction. Vrinda worshipped Vishnu to get him *as her husband* even before marrying Jalandhar, and later she misused her devotion towards her God Vishnu with an excuse of her chastity to SHELTER her evil husband. And hence God Vishnu had to bear all the effects of her Karma. The thing is, karma does not leave any one, but Karmateetha Sri Vishnu takes it in when it is his own Bhakta (devotee) who is asking for certain things because he is Bhakta Vatsala. And many people failed to understand that fact of almighty God.

@@sabitashil7242 Your info is not 💯 accurate. Vrinda was not fully pious even though she was pure at heart because she supported ADHARMA by providing protection to it. Only her faith and devotion towards the supreme God Vishnu had earned her enough power to curse the God (inadvertently of course) because she was a sati but was supporting an evil personality. And hence her prayers was *paused* by the God almighty.
She didn't had any capability of retrieving back a curse. The God accepted her cúrse and went back after giving her the "Shaligram shila" when she apologized to the God for her inappropriate & inadvertent cúrse.

@Hindu Saga please read the sanskrit versions before spreading the Brotish Tranlations. Almost all your videos are based on distorted British transaltions.
Here Vishnu appeared in front of Vrinda due to which her prayer was paused. And she though Vishnu who looked like Jalandar was her husband. Because she paused her prayer, Jalandar died. That's all thay happend.
There is no concept of virginity in Hinduism. Virginity is a regressive concept of Victorian values brought in buy the British. Ans they misinterpreted our texts which many people our referring too. As many don't know sanskrit , they depend on the misinterpretation of British translation.
Also sex outside marriage was not a taboo in ancient India. You can also lookup on Urvashi, Vyasa's birth , and also Amba,Ambalika and the other sister on how they got their children, and various other stories where they are very much respected. In ancient India both men and women had freedom towards expressing sexuality. Chastity or purity was defined by purity of the mind and good intentions and well being fir everyone. And spirituality was given high importance.
