Hey RED! Usually I start by writing notes in here and turn them to proper sentences at the end. You can see I gave up on that half way through so here's my list of annotations - generation of biomes and then quality control best of both worlds - remember skyrim? hand placed everything, it was gorgeous but very small compared to a universe - hope it doesn't turn into no mans sky - first demo (rocks an twigs by the trees) I can smell being in the forest... - the demo was not handcrafted, holy hell! that already looks astonishing! - useless fact: the first times I heard the word "assets" I thought "what are these ass hats they're talking about?" - flat rock texture: if they add wind and rain to their calculating factors, a smooth rockside would be realistic due to erosion, let's say every east facing hill side was smoother because that's where the wind usually blows on. this is getting more and more a geologist's and environmentalist's wet dream. It could have real world scientific value for simulations if you can factor in time. just amazing. - 22:25 A river would be great, but it would need to come from somewhere. so we need water springs. Also, there might have been a glaciar 2 735 738 years ago, that's now gone, and it has slid down, carving the mountain and valley in it's path. There's just so much they can do! - all right all right, helicoptering around the alps, we get it, you rich bastard! - 25:00 Exactly what I thought, brother.. no loading screen and no pop-ins. These guys and gals are working on all the angles. Not just visuals but logic on an automated level AND optimizing the hardware load. CIG has made a mountain of money over the years, but they are not scamming. It just takes time. loads and loads of time, something we humans cannot accelerate yet. - Driving will be... harsh. but with terrain deformation, we could have something like Snowrunner? I will start tearing all those trees down, though, making the forest another Isenguard. Come at me Treebeard, you twig d**ked barbecue fuel! I'm an SUV driver now! 😁 They have the ideas, know-how, personnel and money to do all of that. A dream come true if you want to create something not just for money (but mostly money, sure). This was a treat watching and I would like to see more reactions like that. But it is for you to decide If it's worth the time and effort AND if it does the channel any good. or start a second channel for uploading stuff like that. Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the matter and I share them. And now to back up my comment before posting, 'cause that's just what I do now...
@@nilsgerdes6747 Another blindingly good comment dude. I feel me and you have things the wrong way round. I should be subscribed to you coming in here to enhance the videos in the way you do. 😂 I seen on Super Mac Brother the other day that planetary orbits aren't absolutely off the table still. So that would go perfectly with the seasonal changes. What really got me thinking was what it would be like for one of the really far flung planets of a bigger solar system like pyro or similar. I mean I'm guessing they would speed things up for gamifications sake. The longest taking a whole real life year perhaps. Maybe something like Hurston orbiting once a month. That would be so freaking awesome I swear. I have my doubts it will ever happen but it certainly would make alot of things feel more dynamic.
@@Reds_Resort Well you know, good things beget good things. Usually. At least it should! And I also noticed some new stuff in my hangar: 7 people used my referral code and I got you to thank for that 😀 It is tricky to have planets and moons flying around, in sync with every player. A year, or better, a full rotation around the sun varies between planets so in Microtech they would take longer than hurston for example. For simplicity's sake I would keep them synchronized with our real life world: northern hemisphere winter in January and the other way around. They could make it happen at a specific date, just switch it. Maybe it only has a minimal effect in systems like Pyro, because it's already a burning hell or something. Getting the automation running and then manually tweaking it sounds like a good way to speed things up. And that way, they could rearrange the planets as well, don't have them move while ingame, but at a certain date, the planets will have shifted.

@@Reds_Resort well... good. but all that doesn't mean shite to youtube. I'm pretty sure you're better off getting sponsors from patreon and stuff, but members from youtube help represent your chanel. I think. because that's what I would do, if I was a pri*k, I mean an Englishman...
@@nilsgerdes6747 yeah I just fancied a switch to something a bit more chill. Sit back relax, have a jack and talk shite about citcon. Sounded good. But nah it just doesn't sit right. Too low effort. For the first time in many yesrs of playing this game Citizencon has left me with a very empty feeling. So much hype and so little substance. The servers are down and unplayable as I type and even when they're up I've gone from a playable 25 to 35 FPS in 3.24.1 to 5 to 10 FPS in 3.24.2. I cannot play the game at the moment on a pc which exceeds the recommended spec. It doesn't matter how beautiful this game is if you can't play it so sorry CIG my wallet is now closed until you actually give us a playable game. Your videos however are still epic and will probably remain my window onto this shitshow for the foreseeable future.
@@oyeebo your not the only one dude. I'm hearing this across the board. I've not been in either. Citizen con was alot more realistic in outlining it's goals for once. A lot less hype and more sense. I appreciated that. And I do hope it helped salve some of the deep frustration from the community recently. But I think your right, the patch got pushed when it definitely shouldn't. I think alot of people were underwhelmed tbh. What really bugged me was the speed of the vandul ships. Floating in front of that turret. Wtf was that all about? 🤣🤣 Depressing really. Especially if that's the reason our combat model got shafted. Apart from that I did really like everything I saw if I'm being honest. And I'm trying to keep in mind that 3.24.2 has alot of code base for 4.0 in it as well. Which ...... Hopefully.... Should mean that all these problems are solved by the time Pyro comes along. 🤣🤣 I know... That sound like a long shot from where we're standing. Either way I'll do my best to keep you appraised and in the loop dude.
