  • This 2hp Forte air compressor was never cleaned, and no one oil change since it was bought 5 years ago.
    Fortunately, after changing oil and some cleaning - it back to normal and still running very well!

    I agree that less music and more descriptive words would have made this interesting. Other than not starting was the problem the switch or what. Was it really necessary to tear it all apart to repair.it if it was just the switch?

    I have a very similar (slightly larger) compressor with exactly the same issue and followed this video exactly ~ really expecting it to not work. The instructions here are very well illustrated, easy to follow and completely demystifies the process. To my delight after completing the steps it worked perfectly for me, huge thanks for this video.

    But I'd change the oil way before it turns into asphalt haha. Nice video.

      Thick oil would not stop the compressor working cleaning it would not cure an ethical problem that wasn't there in the first place the oil was like treacle and not a lot in it there was no filler cap to stop the oil blowing out the only problem was the plug was probably not in properly

    Maybe you should include a warning about going anywhere near a capacitor, far less using it as a handle for the engine block with your bare hands as you were doing. You're lucky you didn't get poked. Those things can be lethal surely?

  • @tesladude2822
    @tesladude2822 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can bet it was electrical, no need to open compressor at all. If it gave you hamming sound on start it just means start capacitor was faulty. If there were no sound at all, probably switch fault.

    Cleaning is good, but I try to resist cleaning broken things until I've fixed them, and I try not to make a lot of dust with a cylinder head off.
    I suspect you fixed it about 12 mins in, when you cleaned the pressure switch, so you kind of did it backwards. Good overview of construction and general maintenance though.
    I recently pulled a wee Fu Sheng compressor off the dump which I'll be trying to fix...er...sometime.
