I just love the idea of "hardened criminal"/actual cinnamon roll goober James getting into the gym challenge is all it would take to turn him into a chad anime protagonist...and it actually feeling firmly within his character lol
James in the regal show had Chad protagonist potential with all his nallage
I like the concept of James having Zangoose and Jessie having Seviper in this scenario.
This ia such an entertaining series starring two beloved longtime characters. I'm glad you didn't take the easy route of James spamming Return and obliterating everything. Seriously, dude is such a nice guy that I believe his Pokemon can hit ghosts with Return.
You know after seeing the first episode thinking there was no way it could have potential but after watching the full movie I realized Jessie, James', & Meowth's progression can fully growth over time could make them quit team rocket in the future and turning Giovanni, namba, Cassidy & Butch in as the adventures in Hoenn continued.
Solid story overall. I don’t mind that the league wasn’t focused on much. It was more the journey itself than the destination. This what if showed that if given the chance Jesse and James can be very successful trainers in their own right. While helping team rocket in the long run. So everyone won in the end well except Butch and Casidey. I like the way Domino was used and I hope she returns in the Sinnoh story.
This team rocket is really interesting and I can’t wait for the Sinnoh story for this series. This team rocket might have some very interesting interactions with Paul, Zoey and later on Cynthia.
This reminds of what if James never got engaged but this better
I hope to see more JESSIE and JAMES stories
I can see a follow up to this. In Sinnoh where James dose contest and Jessie dose badges. But when it ends they just go Unova with G and do same as in original show.
They could still use the gym challenge as a cover while in Unova too. It fits most regions really
Actually I think they would not be allowed to challenge gyms because they are criminals but I think it would be cool if they challenged the gyms like Ash and if Jessie was a performer and a coordinator like Dawn.
Knowing those two they’d put on different clothes while doing the challenge while the Pokedex giving them different last names to cover their tracks

No because there journey was separate. Ash would actually suffer from not having them because in the main cannon most of his battles are against them so by default if they are traveling separate he would be weaker
