Can we take a moment to appreciate how Jonathan looks at Aaron during the video 😭 & I try to make rejections as motivation to keep moving forward, so i can one day proceed :)
I think my hardest rejection was my fiance dumping me 4 months before the wedding. We had been together for almost 5 yrs. I was heartbroken but looking back we were so young and my husband of 20 yrs now treats me so much better. I am happy he did it.
OMG can you imagine if he never did that awful thing? It was all for a reason and it's so crazy to look back on things like this. You probably are SO relieved hahaha
Thanks guys for tackling a difficult topic rather than just goofy stuff (not that your other videos are goofy, lol). We all face rejection at one point or another and the ability to deal with rejection is what separates those who are successful and those who aren't and in the end who's fulfilled and happy and who's not. Great video!
Thank you for sharing your sensitive rejection stories and encouraging us all to keep going and not give up. Y'all are amazing and it's inspiring to see how you support each other!
As a reader ( yes I bought and read Jonathan's book ) I'm glad you took the risk. As a fan we have the luxury of seeing the finished product after all the rejection and frustration . No one can possibly know the struggle you experience unless they have " been there " . Once again , THANK YOU
Thank you for publishing The ghost of Buxton Manor! I loved it, both your writing style and the story that was based on a real event. I will look for your other book(s). I like when you dramatize some of Aarons comics. Love from Ingela
Husband and Husband I found two more books on Amazon and of course the comicstrip one you are selling yourself. I have ordered them all ! Love you ! Ingela
Rejection used to hit me hard. But now I always think of two things....A line in a John Lennon song "life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans" and a line in a Paul Brandt song "don't tell me the skies the limit, there's footprints on the moon". Have a great weekend guys.
YES! That is a hard pill to swallow. Every rejection still hurts. I guess the comforting thing is knowing we all go through it still to this day (as awful as that sounds, haha)
Such a heartfelt reveal. I never myself have been rejected, & I can only imagine the pain & hurt it causes. I felt 4 u both during your stories, but you both persevered & look where u r now. The song lyric says it best " what doesn't kill u only makes u stronger". I know at the time it doesn't seem that way . Aaron & Jonathan u r strong, kind & humble men. Your time is now. One quick aside Koda must have been feeling his oats. Ripping Merlin's face off the postcard was naughty. Seeing Merlin's little face through the cutout was precious. Kids will be kids. Love u guys.😘😘
As an actor, I was told so many times that "I didn't have the right look" even though they had seen my picture before calling me in! but it gave me lots of experience of auditions before I did start booking jobs. xx
It's so hard to be rejected, and especially to let it not change your own style because you want it so bad. It's a long and hard way, but in the end there will be someone that says 'yes, I love your style and want to represent you' because you have your own style and stayed with it. Good topic, it's good to share experiences and thoughts. X
Aw, Koda and Merlin are so cute. Always great to see you guys, and thanks for sharing your experience getting to where you are now. I like to look at rejection as a skill that you get better as with experience :-)
Koda needs more things to chew on then he won't eat Merlin. He is so hyper & Merlin is so chill. Perfect brothers. Rejection is definitely a part of life. I believe my rejections have made me stronger. Please remind everyone about our Facebook group: H & H Family. We are having a great time. Love you guys!
AGREED! They make the perfect yin and yang to each other, kinda like their dads hahaha ;). OH! I'm so sorry! We keep forgetting to mention it on the actual vlog! We need to spread the word, because we always have fun together haha
My book was rejected 29 times at 17... so I took time off from writing, and now I am turning my book to a screenplay then retry the process again. Rejection sucks but if you have the strong support system then you can survive. Unlike, my support system. Now I'm studying Film and Television... self belief.
I could tell you guys all about the millions of scholarships I applied to and didn't get but tbh I feel I'm not the only one, I mean , yeah rejection is a part of life and omg with the generic email I can literally quote the emails word for word almost, it's sucks, but I mean I'm so proud of you both, you're both amazing, and I hope you guys become the rich and famous artists that you guys are meant to be :] :))))
yeahh...being rejected is hurt but it will make us more tough and creative too...rejected can open up our true strength...being rejected cause of stereotyped is heartbroken...
I see rejections as something to learn from and as a positive thing. Yes, there are times when we get rejected for no apparent reason but we keep trying. 😺😺😺say hey to Merlin for us! Hahaha. Love you guys!
That's a great way to look at it for sure! We try to do the same, sometimes the sting hurts too much though haha. We'll be sure to give Merlin and Koda a hug for ya Matt!
rejection is definitely part of life, but i'm sure that it helped you to grow as a person and be stronger. You guys are very talented and really good people. Thank you for sharing these stories with us
i feel like i've missed a lot of opportunities because of my crippling fear of rejection. i have anxiety and a very very very low self esteem, so rejection makes me feel literally dizzy and it's like every part of my body is puking inside itself. it's just a terrible feeling. but i know i'll have to deal with it a lot in life and i'll have to get out of my comfort zone. this video really helped me and i want to thank you guys for always inspire and help me through difficult times. love you very much x
TOTALLY feel ya on the anxiety! Sometimes it's hard to find the happy place, but what helps us is watching our favorite old school show, or cuddling the cat haha :) Temporary fix, but it helps
I actually auditioned for american idol one year and went through the same thing. I got to the panel and the judges looked pissed off, then that just made me more nervous. probably sang for a couple of seconds, then they were like, you are not what we are looking for. Learning experience for sure. I totally get where both of you are coming from. i believe in you guys though. Love ya guyss!!!
Rejection sets as a bar for us to either falter or surpass it. I, for one, hate rejection but I realize it's there for many reasons. Hopefully I will attain my goals some day. I like your stories here about rejections with your publishing and job goals. You guys remained driven and surpassed past the rejection. Sometimes whenever we hear non-constructive rejection from hurtful people, and excuse my language, say fuck them. Haha. Thanks for sharing your stories! ❤
It's very true It's so hard during the rejection, but looking back it all makes sense, how it all worked out. We also have to keep in mind that we are not meant to "win" everything. Opportunities should be for everyone.
Finally finished all your vids guys. Thanks for always sharing your life with us and brightening our day. I was excited when I saw your vids being in SoCal but I hadn't watched the most current vids which shows that you moved to Oregon. lol What a rude awakening for me. In any case, I'm so happy for you guys and love your vids. Going to the topic of rejection, if anyone likes Disney movies, watch "Meet the Robinsons". That movie is all about rejection/failures but it has a happy ending. The theme of the movie was Keep Moving Forward.
Aaron your art work now is the amazing out come from that portfolio review encounter and who knows what will be different if he did give you just one inspiring word that wouldn't have resulted tonyour amazing comics of today!!! keep you the work you are your best teacher learn what you want and learn how to achieve them and you'll find yourself
Aaron i really want to know, did you cry after going home? And also when i look back to middle school my poems/draws seems like didn't fit with the kind of my teachers mind at middle school, so somehow i got rejected from the teachers. Thanks for sharing your stories with us. Hope one day someone will like things i am used to do...
I haven't cried in a very long time. It's funny how that works out, it take s a lot for me to cry (even though I'm a very emotional person). Having a relationship with Jon has just made me a happier person overall, so in the end, things don't really matter as much.
Hi guys, not long ago I started watching your youtube videos, it seemed crazy to see how you just make everyday life go with it in love, you are both super positive people and you get in the mood of watching your videos, continue with your videos, because you are doing a good job, I look forward to seeing what your future brings. my english is not very good, but hope you can understand what i write ........... greetings a happy viewer from Denmark
I have been rejected many times and at time those rejections brung me to depression because it was stuff i really wanted but as always I picked myself back up and I kept on walking towards the direction I am suppose to go. It sucks that sometimes i let it get to me but its a lesson i learn everytime i did and that was to become stronger and better. Writing is something i have ALWAYS been told i am good at because like Aaron and Jonathan i have a very creative imagination and in high school i would write it all down because I can't draw to save my life lol but writing is something that just came natural to me but never put to the test which i find so amazing and inspiring for Jonathan to do because its true what he said, Sometimes they are looking for a specific kind of story and not everyone can think of a story that they want in less then 24 hours because thats nearly impossible when you are a Writer. I will say this because of Husband and Husband i have put my creative mind to use and currently writing a little novel i mean i don't think it will get put out because i started writing it when i was going thru alot at the time and now i am stuck in a part that i have no idea how to continue but watching this video and currently reading a book that is about zodiacs (i know super strange but it caught my eye) i think it will help me out alot with continuing the story. LOVE YOU GUYS! HUSBAND AND HUSBAND RAWKS!
that was a great story Aaron thank you, you both are going to make it big someday trust me hell you're halfway there once again have a great weekend your friend Bob storm
Surly rejection is a stressfully situation I have tried now for over a year to land a job in my field (architecture) and it's has been a depressing situation but I am still getting up every day and make applications I just need one architectural office to let me in and full fill my dream Career
I remember in school they had a trip to go to Cambridge University where you had a tour of the uni,got to meet students, got lectures and you got to learn more about a course you'd like to do. I want to do law so I was excited. You had to write an essay on 'do you think prisoners should be able to watch tv'. I gave it to my music teacher because he was head of activities and all he said was 'no I've already chosen' even though it was only offered the day before. Luckily two years after there was a similar trip to Oxford this time and he actually read it and this is what he said 'I'm surprised you didn't go to the Cambridge trip'. So I agree with you guys you should never give up on your passion ❤️👍
I been there guys, I been rejected for a retail job with this Company "🎯" like 10 times . Now mind you I have 10 years of experience in retail. I work for this one store for 6 years before I got out of retail. I guess I'm better off now not doing retail. I have a flexible job so I can travel with my husband.
y'all are an inspiration to me I've been going threw a tough time these past couple years with my ex husband leaving me for another women a month after I gave birth to our son. And I haven't seen him in almost 2years now
Oh man, I am so sorry! You do not deserve that to happen to you. Our hearts ache hearing that :(. Whenever you feel sad, I hop you come and hang out with us and laugh a little bit. Laughing is the best medicine!
Husband and Husband it's ok I have learned to adapt and be very happy with my life I'm so glad I have found y'alls channel you guys are so inspirational and make me laugh with all the shenanigans that y'all get into and I'm so happy that y'all are happy yays!
You guys are really amazing. I think My saddest thing would be I rejected myself. I stop writing songs for many years, and I feel sad, not even a song has been written. Sad isn't it. However, I am so glad that you guys is chasing your dreams and make them come true. That's really an inspiration. I really love you guys so much. I hope the both of you keep chasing. Keep doing what you're doing. The Husband & Husband are the best. Can't wait for Aaron's H&H Vol II. XOXO.
Rejection does not always mean a need for improvement. The connection was just not mutual. You can keep doing what you do until you find someone that sees value in your work.
BTW, you said don't do it 4 times, Jonathan! Yes, Aaron, I saw it at least twice. And the Buffy generation were the editors by then..! I ACCEPT you! You are awesome human beings! Much love and support.
being rejected because you are different is not easy to live when you are young. But you both are so talented, we appreciate your job, so you are no more rejected (hope my english is correct 😊) love you guys 😘😘💜
Hey guys! Thanks for sharing your stories. I can REALLY relate to this vlog right now. Im in a decent position in my career with hella experience, but mediocre pay and Ive been interviewing on and off for about 1.5 yrs. Each interview process usually lasts a couple of months and I get to the last step in the process, then nothing. Something Im doing to not close the deal I guess. But, I learn from each experience and I know Ill find the right opprtunity for me. You both are awesome - hands down best couple on TH-cam :-) Thanks for sharing
rejections sucks😂but I really like to believe that every rejection and bump in the road made the human that we are today.I learned from every rejection and failure.Fuck it. tomorrow is another day. you two are a inspiration and motivation so life shaped you well🌞🌞🌞hugs
Rejection is never fun, but I think every artist/creator goes through it at some point. Most times I'm sure it's not a personal "attack" on the person, but we all know it feels that way. Believe in yourself and what you are creating and keep on keeping on.
want advice from an older guy here . No matter how many times you are rejected . Always live with the Idea to never give up ever no matter what . Because one day you are going to be a good author and your partner will sell awesome sought out after Comics Never give up on your Dreams you two Promise me that . as a new fan of your you tube blogs . Thank you for sharing and letting us see and follow your life time dreams . Long hours and hard work pay off at some pont . age does not matter .
Great subject matter guys. I know rejection only too well, I'm a fine artist/painter. I work on mainly commissioned pieces, also have had showings in galleries. I went through many years of rejection before I had my first show, it wasn't easy but I didn't give up. When you are a creative person/artist you learn that your works are criticized and judged each and every way possible. It's not easy but you just have to keep going on till you make it. You have to totally believe in yourself. ❤️ Love & Big Hugs Guys.
I applied for university as a mature student at York University in Toronto. 1st Rejection: I was rejected due to "insufficient parking on campus". Um, I lived 200 meters away from the university and I didn't drive. 2nd Rejection: I was rejected due to "lack of student placements available". I called them the same day I got the letter and they told me they had 80% placement openings for mature students. So, I confronted them and called into the question the nonsense rejections I was getting. So, they made me apply again. THIS time, I got "conditionally accepted" if I took a 6 week Canadian Writing Course and if I got an B+ or higher, I would be accepted into the University. So I took the course, got an A- and finally got in. The rest is another story but University was DEFINITELY not for me.
So giving a bit of background and understanding my thrive towards art; during my art classes in middle school I received an honor roll and also a few of my classmates and myself representing our middle school in some short art gallery competition held by judges.. I was rewarded a gold key on my water color still life panting.. Never would imagine reading an article about myself and a couple other classmates of mine receiving our gold keys. It was the most happiest moment in my life and my parents lives as well. So having to experience my love for art I entered in high school with such determination! Until I had a sit down with my guidance counselor.. She explained to me due to the lack of required expectations under Math and English scores, I wasn't allow to take my art classes.. I felt like I got punched in my gut and literally cried in front of her.. I literally wish I can go back in time and take my major courses a whole lot more serious..
first, Koda. poor Merlin. I've had my share, most recent being rejected by the Orange County Fair when i did what i don't like doing, entered the art show. rejected. i was crushed, and not because i thought i was good, but I've seen some pieces, no comment. but anyway, i don't think the oc fair is that great anyway. lol. i love how honest and real u are in the videos. u guys are the greatest. nobody can reject that. 🎖🏆🏅🥇😊💙💙
This is part of the reason I don't enter art things anymore really. I've seen your stuff though and it's awesome! To find that out is very surprising :(. I have also found that a lot of galleries have cliques, and they hire the same artists. It's kinda hard to break in when nobody wants to take a chance on you. Artist life right? haha ;)
Husband and Husband unfortunately, u are right. except my shows, i take pride in showing artists of all styles, mediums, walks of life. i still hold a spot in the show for u guys, just in case.
Sometimes I can't tell your voices apart. I thought Jon was running around with the postcard until I saw him on the floor with Koda. As a writer I share your pain, Jonathan.
hi guys, thanks for this. Thankfully I've had few rejections in my professional career but I know loads of people that get so down after all those 'pfo' letters (please fxxx off!). Why can't companies be nice? In my personal life though being rejected by a lover was the worst experience ever and something I'll never forget. Anyway all is good at the moment and actually I met a lovely young person called Hanne during the week who is originally from Portland and is teaching us Power Yoga ☺ Up Oregon 👍
No way?? Power Yoga?? That's so cool! I hope he liked Portland haha. :) We agree, companies can be a little nicer...don;t mind the rejection so much as the way it is done, ya know?
I guess the biggest take away from this vid is to always have supportive people surrounding you. You know, a cheerleader with pom poms of sorts. Well done!
Aaron and Jonathan I watched your entire video and the portion of your life you dealt with is very true.Rejections are a part of everyone's life. However, this is also a reality that a successful person has more of failures than success in his past. This is so because when you commit mistakes in life,You tend to get rejected for your body of work or the work being ignored but at the end it is you and your strong will which favours you to move ahead in life.We generally talk of a medium, that is,any platform for us to step forward but the truth lies in the fact that it is not always the platform which is worth undertaking for success but the hardwork.I will not deny the fact that a platform is not needed to uplift our skills but unless hardwork is sown, nothing can be achieved.Your experiences very vividly state the harsh period you have been through.I can also sense the pessimism these realities impose on a person's overall development. However,I am glad that you survived every single hardship you have been subjected to in life,in your profession and with strong determination and constant efforts emerged successfully out of it.I don't know if you believe in Destiny and time but I surely do.When you talked about your change in majors because of some issues and later talked about the rejections you have met with the publishers and their conduct for your book, the only thing running in my mind was may be Time wasn't appropriate for you to shine at that time. You are very right that being an author does not require any basic degree.I believe the fact that creativity is never inculcated in someone. It is simply the in born or innate talent or potential that you are born with. You can look at your life at a star shining in the sky.A star burns for around millions of years and at the end twinkles and shines in the sky.It is also because of the light the Sun dwans at it but imagine the amount of heat it is subjected to in order to shine. You are a star brothers! You are twinkling today because you are burnt to an extent that you require no light to shine rather emanate your own light procured out of your knowledge, creativity and constant efforts. I have my own struggles in life. However, when I look around and see other people,I feel that there are so many things that can be learnt from our immediate surroundings. You are one such inspiration to me.At the end small incidences frame a bigger event and for me you are stars. People can help us show the right path, the genuine ones but at the end we need to walk the path alone. This is clearly seen through your experiences.I am glad that I came across persons like you. I have a doubt which needs help to get resolved.I am consulting people who are truly helpful.I will appreciate and be obliged if you help me out.For that I need to contact you via email. Can you please provide me with your email!
I was rejected from a teaching position because i wasn't white. It was for teaching english in another country, but i was told that their idea of english speakers are... specific. Oh well. Moved on and found another job in a different country. It still stings though.
I have a biggest rejection and it's job related. But anyways I have an Bachelors degree in Information Technology and I thought with my background I will get a job in IT right away. However, I didn't had any customer service experience so in 2017 to 2019 I been rejected by IT companies like at least 6 or 7 times which hurts so much. The other part of this story is that I did applied for fast food restuarants and they rejected me due to I wasn't qualified because of my IT skills. So yeah I'm in a tight spot but hopefully I will get an IT job that will accept due to me having less experience.
I got rejected to about 20 dance groups because my body type was too "masculine." I think I wanted to quit dance for about 2 months before getting over it lol.
Husband and Husband awh thank you!! I'm glad you guys like them 😘😘 and Ill try haha. Im gonna try and whip uo a box to put all of my fried chicken cat and H&H stuff haha love you guys!!
great video! I love this video! I been rejected so much time but my #1 rejection was when my first boyfriend broke up with me after high school, we dated for 5 years all of high school we met in 2004 and broke up in 2009, but looking back on it now I'm glad he broke up with me because I like a guy that treats me much better we are not dating yet but we are working on it! I was not able to go to College because I have cerebral palsy, I wanted to be a high school teacher that's my second rejection! I love Aaron's comics and Jonathan's books y'all both do a awesome job! I always look younger than my age too! I love y'all much my favorite TH-camr! I can't wait for y'all next video! I use a walker and wheelchair! I'm 27! Merlin and Koda are so cute!
Husband and Husband Merlin and koda are so sweet and cute y'all are cute husband's together! I love y'all much my favorite TH-camr! I can't wait for y'all next video!
We can't wait to show them off! We've never owned a flag actually, sorry to say. But there's a first time for everything and we're so grateful, thank you for taking the time to send those awesome gifts to us!
OMG yes! I hate when you never get anything back that could be seen as helpful. For example when I was fresh out of Hospitality School, it was the wrong time of year for restaurants/bars to be taking on new staff so I had to go into retail for a couple of months. When I left that I tried so hard, I applied to practically every winery, cellar door, restaurant and cafe I could and I can not tell you how many people sent back letters saying the usual we appreciate your application but it's not what we are looking for right now lol. Then I had a couple letters come back and one interview and their catch 22 was the old you would be amazing but we need someone with a little more workplace experience, um yeah ok that's fine but how the fuck am I meant to get it if no one will take a chance in me lol FML 😡 In the same interview I even had this guy ask me this a particular hypothetical question, I gave my response and his reply to me was and I quite "that's a perfect textbook answer". TBC.....
... Now at the time I didn't think anything if it. It wasn't until I got my rejection letter saying my interview was not successful that u began looking back at what I may have dive wrong or could improve on and I came back to his remark. After pondering on the tone in which he said it, that smirk and his whole body language he was implying that I could only be great when it was hypothetical, learning etcetera he had no belief in me in a practical sense. Looking back on that whole situation now, that brief moment has stuck with me forever and I have always used it to further myself and help me remember that I am where u am because if that moment and I make sure that I make every moment count and that I give people what they really want in similar situations. And because if that moment I was forced into a situation thar led me down the path in on today and I've had some if the best years of my life. So all I can really say us thank you to that guy for rejecting me when you did 😂😂😂😂
Oh man, that cycle is the WORST! The whole "experience vs. education" thing is so messed up because every job is different, hell, even every employer is different, you NEVER know which they are going to take. But so happy to hear that it worked out. You're a great person, so no doubt when you are a good person, things do tend to work out in the end. It's in your chart. ;)
+Husband and Husband awww you guys ☺️😘 No but seriously thankyou. Side note, it's so exciting to see that the book is progressing faster than first thought so yay. I'm super happy for you guys.
especially with rejection all you just wanna do is yell "just give me a chance dammit" but you can't because then you would definitely not get the chance
Literally every job application ever lol. Everybody wants you to have 10 years of experience by the time you're 20 which is ridiculous. You need experience to get the job but you need the jobs to get experience so you're essentially stuck in a revolving door smh -_- ...
DUDE! This is exactly the cycle I was thinking of. Experience > Education < Age, it's all a mess and everyone hires differently too, which also doesn't help haha. OY!
about higher education...I live in Pennsylvania and we rank 47th in funding. the number of ppl attending college has diminished by 30% this year. I blame the Republicans! but seriously though I'm 34 now and planning to enroll back to the community college I attended in my 20s but not sure if I can even afford it with just the FAFSA. I know nothing about student loans. tick-tock! 🤔
If koda barks when being hugged or touched maybe you should take him to the vet. He might have a swollen organ or something. It happened with my dog and she's not here anymore :(
Aww I'm so sorry for that! Good advice! Koda will do that from time to time though, he'll do a yelp thing when we get close to touching him, like step on one of his hairs on accident haha. :)
Jonathan you should do a tutorial video sometime of how to start writing. I mean from the very very start for people like myself who wants to write a book but doesn't even know where to begin. Kind of step by step thing.
Awesome Video. I'm an older gay disabled man and believe me, I totally relate to rejection. Let's face it, you can be older but still considered handsome and well built, you can be younger and have a heavy frame, you can be disabled and still considered sexy like Alex Minsky. Some how, and I don't understand why, the labels or 'older', 'heavy' or 'disabled' are considered strikes against you. This perception that you have to either compensate in some other way (i.e. older guys having to workout to get that 6 pac) or accept yourself. Our community, our family, is overly obsessed with buys having to appear young and handsome, being a stereotypical underwear model with perfect pecs and 6 pac abs. It takes guys like Davey who have these looks however to bring this conversation out. I've posted a video to my channel I hope guys will go check out and comment on. I'm doing this for myself as I'm having a very rough time in my life and the comments will help me in my struggle. Please promote and share. Thanks th-cam.com/video/ifKcHVMUUH4/w-d-xo.html
Can we take a moment to appreciate how Jonathan looks at Aaron during the video 😭 & I try to make rejections as motivation to keep moving forward, so i can one day proceed :)
JohnnyThe9th ! his hair and eyebrows r perfect lol. my brows r so light u can barely see them, hehe!
Aww that's true! Thank you for that!
Encouraging words for Jonathon and Aaron: you guys have fans who love you. I know, I'm one of them.
You're so kind! Thank you so much for all that you do!
I think my hardest rejection was my fiance dumping me 4 months before the wedding. We had been together for almost 5 yrs. I was heartbroken but looking back we were so young and my husband of 20 yrs now treats me so much better. I am happy he did it.
Nicole Morrison awww your going to make me cry
Faren Thompson I had a happy ending though lol
Nicole Morrison ik it was just so cute
OMG can you imagine if he never did that awful thing? It was all for a reason and it's so crazy to look back on things like this. You probably are SO relieved hahaha
Husband and Husband definately relieved. i have such an awesome family. i wouldnt give them up for anything
You guys would be the best dads ever!!!
Ryan Ashton No doubt on this fact. They will be fantastic dads!
Aww thank you so much Ryan! Hopefully! :)
Husband and Husband Definitely!
They are dad's ...merlin and Koda
Thanks guys for tackling a difficult topic rather than just goofy stuff (not that your other videos are goofy, lol). We all face rejection at one point or another and the ability to deal with rejection is what separates those who are successful and those who aren't and in the end who's fulfilled and happy and who's not. Great video!
yeah for sure! Always nice to mix it up, huh? You're right though, if you never try, or keep trying, you'll never know! ;)
I don't mind rejection in and of itself. What drives me crazy is not knowing WHY I was rejected.
EXACTLY! That's the worst part for sure.
i am so glad you took the risk jon. i have read 2 of your books, buxton manor and blackwell family. i loved them both so much
NICOLE! You;re too sweet. Thank you so much, it's all worth it if I can share stories.
Love how you guys share your life stories, I'm glad you are bringing your dreams to reality. Wishing y'all continued success!
Thanks for being awesome Jose! :)
Thank you for sharing your sensitive rejection stories and encouraging us all to keep going and not give up. Y'all are amazing and it's inspiring to see how you support each other!
Rejections ... like Koda biting Merlins head off !
HAHAHA The worst of them all! Poor Merle :(
As a reader ( yes I bought and read Jonathan's book ) I'm glad you took the risk. As a fan we have the luxury of seeing the finished product after all the rejection and frustration . No one can possibly know the struggle you experience unless they have " been there " . Once again , THANK YOU
Awww mary thank you for being so AWESOME! Tearing us up over here!
Thank you for publishing The ghost of Buxton Manor! I loved it, both your writing style and the story that was based on a real event. I will look for your other book(s). I like when you dramatize some of Aarons comics. Love from Ingela
Aww thank you so much!
Husband and Husband I found two more books on Amazon and of course the comicstrip one you are selling yourself. I have ordered them all ! Love you ! Ingela
You guys are seriously my favorite channel on here, and I watch A LOT!
Stop being so SWEET! (Don;t stop, sweet people are the best)
thank you so much for talking about this, and being a vehicle to spread light, kindness, empathy and compassion to your viewers. I love you guys
Aww of course! Thank YOU for hanging with us ;)
Rejection used to hit me hard. But now I always think of two things....A line in a John Lennon song "life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans" and a line in a Paul Brandt song "don't tell me the skies the limit, there's footprints on the moon". Have a great weekend guys.
Both GREAT quotes, thank you for always being so supportive Dean!
Rejection has kept me from actually taking a step forward and try communicate with publishing houses about my books... You have encouraged me a lot
I love that quote so much! Thank you for always supporting us Patricia, you have no idea how great that makes us feel
You are so RIGHT! Just sticking with the same style is important in itself Thank you for that!
Hey guys I love you to the end of the universe and back.
HEY! Love you back Cyd :)
Love you more
Aw, Koda and Merlin are so cute. Always great to see you guys, and thanks for sharing your experience getting to where you are now. I like to look at rejection as a skill that you get better as with experience :-)
That's a n interesting way to look at it! haha. We're mastering that skill haha ;) Merlin and Koda are waving at you, BTW ;)
The rejections are horrible, but knowing how you keep trying until you get your dreams is something wonderful and inspiring!😁❤️
Thank you so much! If you give up, you'll never know, right? :)
Now I'm studying Film and Television... self belief.
just love you guys. You are so positive! Love your attitudes even in the face of rejection!
I've missed Merlin. I've had hundreds of rejections for my books but that because they're pretty bad. Hahaha.
Aww man, I feel ya! haha
Aww you're so sweet thank you so much for that!
yeahh...being rejected is hurt but it will make us more tough and creative too...rejected can open up our true strength...being rejected cause of stereotyped is heartbroken...
That's very true! thank you
I see rejections as something to learn from and as a positive thing.
Thank you for this video. You guys are great.
rejection is definitely part of life, but i'm sure that it helped you to grow as a person and be stronger.
WHAT?? That's terrible! I hate when they have that Poker face on. It makes you so nervous :(
Right, it's like, give me a little smile or something!
Love your videos!! 💜💜💜
Aww thank you so much Cody!
Rejection really sucks but it always better than a fake promise. Hope you guys are having a nice weekend♥♥
That's very true also.
Aww thank you so much! This was so nice to read after a busy week. We miss California so much! Oregon is awesome too! :D Keep moving forward right? :)
That's so awesome to hear, thank you for making me smile! It really helps in continuing on
Jonathan's first hug of the puppy omg. Its warming
And also yeah 2vids in 2days yayyy💃
Aww you're so sweet! Thanks for sharing your story and words. We love you back!
that was a great story Aaron thank you, you both are going to make it big someday trust me hell you're halfway there once again have a great weekend your friend Bob storm
Aww BOB! That's so nice of you! Thank you so much!
I love you guys! I relate to you guys so much....
And we love ya back
Surly rejection is a stressfully situation I have tried now for over a year to land a job in my field (architecture) and it's has been a depressing situation but I am still getting up every day and make applications I just need one architectural office to let me in and full fill my dream Career
Oh wow, architecture always sounds like a competitive career. Good luck to you though, don't ever stop!
Exactly! Thanks for sharing that with us! No matter what happens, if you give up, you'll never get there, right? :)
Aww that;s get to hear that it worked out! I went through something similar and it worked out in the end too.
Husband and Husband - yup my mom would tell me will that's not the job for u something thing will come along that's right for u
y'all are an inspiration to me I've been going threw a tough time these past couple years with my ex husband leaving me for another women a month after I gave birth to our son.
XOXO.
Rejection sucks. I actually placed all of my rejection emails in a folder. Over the last six months, I had received almost 250 rejections. Yay me! LOL
Damn, yeah, you can totally relate then haha :)
Rejection does not always mean a need for improvement. The connection was just not mutual. You can keep doing what you do until you find someone that sees value in your work.
Joey T very very true!
That's a very good point. Thanks for sharing
BTW, you said don't do it 4 times, Jonathan! Yes, Aaron, I saw it at least twice.
And the Buffy generation were the editors by then..!
I ACCEPT you! You are awesome human beings! Much love and support.
Thanks for always accepting us!
Who published Buxton Manor? I have only used Lulu and Amazon.
Amazon :) We've never used Lulu before, but heard of it :)
It's said that you learn more from your failures than you do from your successes but failing really sucks.
being rejected because you are different is not easy to live when you are young. But you both are so talented, we appreciate your job, so you are no more rejected (hope my english is correct 😊) love you guys 😘😘💜
Aww you're english is great1 Thank you so much!
Aww you're too awesome! Thanks for the kind words, and for sharing your story with us!
rejections sucks😂but I really like to believe that every rejection and bump in the road made the human that we are today.I learned from every rejection and failure.Fuck it. tomorrow is another day. you two are a inspiration and motivation so life shaped you well🌞🌞🌞hugs
That's very true, thank you so much! Hugs back to you
Rejection is never fun, but I think every artist/creator goes through it at some point. Most times I'm sure it's not a personal "attack" on the person, but we all know it feels that way. Believe in yourself and what you are creating and keep on keeping on.
So true! So very true, creative goes hand in hand with rejection hehe :p
1:31
*pulls "stray" hair*
Jon: "Oww, son of a bitch!"
Aaron: "Sorry, there was a stray hair right there."
Me: "Stray hair my ass!"
Hahaha a mess!
Saw the guy who was putting his shoes on
photobombing!
want advice from an older guy here .
Oh man, being an artist is not easy. I feel ya! It's also really rewarding. Just know that you are awesome and have an awesome talent :D
❤️
God, that's gotta be the WORST! "rejected for parking space". Seriously, don't even know what's worse. It's just CRAZY to think about. OY!
OhMAN! That's brutal, thanks for sharing Nestor! Big hugs to you, you're not alone in feeling like that at one point.
Husband and Husband aww thanks guys♡ it sucks, but it never stopped me to keep on drawig
first, Koda. poor Merlin.
Rejection hurts the soul of creation. Be nice to everyone and encourage them to find their dream and follow that dream.
We 100% agree!
Sometimes I can't tell your voices apart. I thought Jon was running around with the postcard until I saw him on the floor with Koda. As a writer I share your pain, Jonathan.
Hahaha, we kinda morph into one person sometimes, being together so ,on that happens sometimes haha ;)
Great video guys. Do you know any good Fiction/Fantasy publishers?
Aww thank you! We find most of them through websites by searching for agents usually. :)
How do you protect the ideas you submit to keep your manuscript from being stolen?
Definitely register it with the Writer's Guild ;)
Is your book available on iBooks?
Aww man, unfortunately not yet :(
the dog ate Merlin what are the odds it's more like the other way around your cat is twice the size of your dog it's so funny Wild!!!
HAHAHA That's so true! Thanks for the laugh :)
hi guys, thanks for this.
Well done!
That's very true!
Thanks for sharing these words with us, love reading your comments! And for sure! Our email is husbandandhusband.net@gmail.com
I love me some Jon and Aaron
We love ya back
i love you guys
Love ya back! :)
I reject myself before anyone has a chance to reject me. Checkmate, world.
I was rejected from a teaching position because i wasn't white. It was for teaching english in another country, but i was told that their idea of english speakers are... specific. Oh well. Moved on and found another job in a different country. It still stings though.
That's HORRIBLE! I'm so sorry. People suck :(
And yeah I agree, we shouldn't take it personal, but a lot of the time it still stings.
Holy crap! Too masculine? It's insane how you can be turned away or rejected for just about anything. >.
BTW the fried chicken cats will be CHERISHED! As well as the letters, please keep it all coming, haha!
Husband and Husband awh thank you!! I'm glad you guys like them 😘😘 and Ill try haha. Im gonna try and whip uo a box to put all of my fried chicken cat and H&H stuff haha love you guys!!
Didn't like...LOVED. Your profile pic is cracking me up BTW

I miss you so much I really really love you 💙😚
Aww we've been so busy lately sending out books, sorry! :)
Husband and Husband 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
great video!
Aww haha, so glad you love Merlin and Koda as much as we do ;)

YAY! instantly subscribed and viewed. So happy you took the first step in your Vlog Life!
Title should have been Koda ate Merlin!
YES! We should rename it that haha!
Per Merlin, no respect from Takota...
Rejection sucks, just don't let it get to you and learn from it.
hahaha yes! Poor Merlin
amo vcs 💕💕
It's in your chart. ;)
+Husband and Husband awww you guys ☺️😘
No but seriously thankyou. Side note, it's so exciting to see that the book is progressing faster than first thought so yay. I'm super happy for you guys.
if you find Koda missing I stole him...
Hahaha it looks like him in your profile pic!
Husband and Husband I may have stole him...
Andrew Cunningham not if I steal Koda first
especially with rejection all you just wanna do is yell "just give me a chance dammit" but you can't because then you would definitely not get the chance
YES! haha exactly! I wanna yell that to the sky in the universe sometimes haha!
yayy
WOOOO!
HIYOOOO faren here again
HEEYYOOOOOO! ;)
Aaron I love your side smile, its so sexy and cute( I am not trying to be a creepy old lady lol).
Are you sure your not a creepy old lady Nicole! Love ya!
Donna P hahaha. As I was writing the compliment I decided I sounded like a stalker lol
Aww shucks, a compliment is always welcomed :) (side smile) hehe ;)
I never got rejected ....I never had a relationship ....😳
It'll happen when you least expect it.
Why Merlin looks scary👻
Haha he can be quite the scaredy cat!
OY!
Husband and Husband And then people wonder why there's an unemployment rate lol.
about higher education...I live in Pennsylvania and we rank 47th in funding. the number of ppl attending college has diminished by 30% this year. I blame the Republicans! but seriously though I'm 34 now and planning to enroll back to the community college I attended in my 20s but not sure if I can even afford it with just the FAFSA. I know nothing about student loans. tick-tock! 🤔
Crazy right? Student loans are the WORST!
That would be awesome! Just gotta find a way how to do it hehe :)
I love likes your video
Thanks Wayne! :)
wow I guess you like this comment then the other I left for you guys because it true
Thanks
