    In 2012, when Shalini was 32 years old, she and her husband went to Cambodia on a holiday. She was pregnant at the time. A month after they got back, Shalini came down with high fever and had to be hospitalised!
    Doctors thought it was malaria or dengue but it was a rare bacterial infection known as Rickettsial with Morts, which spreads through dog ticks!
    Shalini lost her baby, endured multiple organ failures, and slipped into a coma. A year later, she lost both her hands and had to have her legs amputated. Today, she's not just a blade runner but a fitness enthusiast and an advocate for Disability Rights.
