Look, man, at this point I am OK with the creators just doing things that are out of the norm. Yes, Star Wars is primarily a pulpy action/adventure epic inspired by chivalric literature and samurai stories, but experimentation could lead into something really cool like Andor. That show portrays rebellion in a realistic way, stripping itself from the idealized nature of its universe, and it was neat to see that different point of view. Maybe this could be something similar.
@НеАнтон-ы2э They're doing this with everything now and I'm beginning to think it has some sort of racial component- targeting franchises that were originally written by European men and had majority white production crews -- because it represents something that they themselves are incapable of achieving (creating something wholly original and novel) and they are extremely jealous. Jealousy is at the bottom of all of it.

To think a show could outdo Andor in terms of not looking like Star Wars... Any chance this was a lame treasure hunt movie that they just slapped the Star Wars name onto?
Is star wars sci-fi OR fantasy? Because sci-fi parallels real life like star trek. Fantasy is the escaping of real life into fantastical worlds like lord of the rings. Harry potter is fun because the wizarding world is seperate from our own. Terminator is fun because it seems so close to ours and thats what makes it so scary like a warning of our fast approaching future.
@BrandontheAwesome But at a certain point it has to chose since fantasy vs science fiction have different approaches to fiction. Science fiction is typically at its best when it's more relatable, a not too far future. Fantasy is typically strongest when it's less relatable and more removed from our everyday reality. Being engrossed in a world with so much wonder and escapism different than our world. So at some point star wars needs to choose relatable vs escapism?

I don't know maybe give the show more than 2 episodes to judge the show. Also stop saying that it doesn't feel like star wars, star wars is a whole universe which has many different tones for each project. Revenge of the sith and a new hope don't have the same tone now do they?

I dont get it, When Theory criticizes Disney SW that's wrong but when you do it it's Fine. He doesnt like Poorly written Star Wars shows but you cant handle his opinions.
Hello, Pawz. I've watched some of your content, including videos and live streams, and I enjoy them. I especially appreciate how you called out Star Wars Theory regarding unwillingness to read NJO and his other strange takes and opinions, but I've found some of your criticisms strange, and I do not fully understand them. Allow me to start by saying I have never watched this show or 'The Goonies.' I am not interested in defending the show but more in examining your criticisms themselves on a few major points, starting with theme, scope and scale. While I personally find the show's premise mundane and uninteresting, I do not see a problem with a show that has overall lower stakes than the fate of the galaxy and the great game between the Sith and the Jedi. I do not believe it would be a good centrepiece for one of the main movies, but for a show or a book, I find it acceptable and intriguing in its own right. My personal favourite books in the EU are the MedStar duology featuring Bariss Offee. While they still focus on a particular Jedi/pre-established character, the centrepiece was her involvement within a Republic Medical Surgical Unit. Additionally, there were other subplots, including a Confederate spy who had to be located and eliminated and the personal ambitions/smuggling operations of a Republic Admiral. I personally think they are a good example of a focused lens. Though, it could be criticised as 'M*A*S*H' in space in a similar facet to 'Skeleton Crew' being 'The Goonies' in space. Moving on to the Disney era, while I have not watched 'Andor' either, many sing its praises and hail it as a good, localised show that provides a window into the universe without grand stakes directly involving the Jedi or Sith, and instead low-level insurgents and law enforcement personnel doing their jobs. TL;DR-What is intrinsically bad about a Star Wars show with a more narrow theme, scope and scale besides the fact it differs from the mainline movies? Next, your criticisms on schooling in Star Wars and the behaviour of the children. Schooling in Star Wars does make sense. While I do not believe a show or book should focus on it, schools are necessary for a modern society to function. I think it is more likely that I do not understand your criticism than anything else, but I would like you to elaborate on that point. As for their behaviour, I am focussing on one thing in particular, specifically one of the children playing with action figures and lightsabres. You say that it is strange and unusual for a child to play with toys that reference the stuff of legend and historical events, but I disagree. I do not know what it is like in your culture, but in many cultures, including my own, it is not uncommon for children to have toys that reference historical events such as World War 2 and many other wars that have been fought against neighbours. Additionally, on the 'lightsabre duel,' it is also not uncommon for such children to 'play war' and pretend to be significant historical characters or mere soldiers. As an outsider looking in, I do not understand how either of these behaviours detract from the show. TL;DR-School is necessary for societies to function at the technological and cultural level portrayed in Star Wars, and I do not believe children playing with things that reference real-life cultural and historical events is detrimental. If you, Pawz, have read this, I appreciate that you have done so, and I hope to understand more of your opinions and those of others regarding this topic.
@@BrandontheAwesome I have watched them multiple times. I enjoy them, but I do not believe that they are the only way a Star Wars story can be told. The universe is grand and expansive. Why pretend that the Jedi and the Sith are the only things that matter? Sure, they may be the most important organisations in the setting, but they are not the only two.
@@BrandontheAwesome Sure, that's likely the case, but I believe you either didn't read my comment thoroughly or didn't understand it. I wasn't defending the show. I've not watched it, and I have no interest in watching it. I was interested in his criticisms of the show, and some of his criticisms don't make sense to me which is why I asked about them.
Hmm..... What do you think could happen that would fix Star Wars? You should make a video about that; I feel like getting your idea of what could happen to fix Star wars could at least do something.
What does star wars t FEEL like tho? "Larger than life characters in high stake adventures" describes Fast and Furious films, MCU films, and Mission Impossible films but none of those feel like star wars despite fitting tha description.
@BrandontheAwesome I have. I still don't see besides the simple fairy tale of the OT and aesthetics what makes star wars uniquely star wars. Imo the PT isn't even star wars, it feels like something else. It's less fairy tale based and more Shakespearean. Which is what Lucas intended mixing some of Julius Ceasar with hamlet + Romeo ans Juliet. Obviously the PT is a tragedy which the OT isn't. The PT also relies more on biblical inspiration vs classic fantasy inspiration like palms is clearly a devil inspired character in the PT whereas palps in the OT is your usual dark lord character like skeletor or voldemort or maleficent is. Just the dark wizard ruler who our hero defeats with the power of good.
Yeah, real life problems that real life people have, like your parental figure not letting you submit your school application because he needs your help on the farm but promises he'll let you go next season, dont belong in star wars! Kids in star wars definitely dont idolize jedi as legendary, even unkillable heroes, so they certainly wouldnt play jedi! Anakins story is all about his power in the force and being a badass, not being an emotional teenager that feels held back my their mentor, who could relate to that? Look, man, at this point I am OK with the creators just doing things that are out of the norm. Yes, Star Wars is primarily a pulpy action/adventure epic inspired by chivalric literature and samurai stories, but experimentation could lead into something really cool like Andor. That show portrays rebellion in a realistic way, stripping itself from the idealized nature of its universe, and it was neat to see that different point of view. Maybe this could be something similar.

Star Wars is both.
@andreacalvillo353 It's escapism dude.

Interesting questions
Go and watch the original six movies, perhaps then you will understand.
@@אלכסנדרהברעקוסטי Yeah, but this show doesn't look, sound, or have the atmosphere of Star Wars.
