I'm sorry Charlie, I have never worked with four stand rope, I would first try making two loops at the start before wrapping the rope around. May be best to search for another video or look at a more modern book about knots and splices which have four strands in it.

thanks for your comment, its for visual contrast, so its easier to see than natural rope.
