As a ethiopian, I appreciate how you tried to show the current ethiopian geopolitical issue but this is something that you can't understand
First, the ongoing civil war isn't his fault but rather because of where he came from as ethiopian people hate each other regarding of their birthplace and lineage.
Secondly, he is working for the interst of his country.
Overall the people who are saying 👏 to you claiming that they are ethiopian are just haters who don't only hates him but also his region( the region he came from). I really appreciate your work but you need to go deep down into the social and historical conflict between regions to understand more about the ongoing civil war.

Thats why politics should be a slow conservative process where you keep the things that work, and slowly fix the things that dont issue by issue. People who promise huge societal reform, like Joe Biden, tend to resort to forcing it if they dont get their way. Hence his reliance on a corrupt DOJ and media, and his fascist union with big tech, pharma, and the military industrial complex. Slow incremental reform allowing for adjustmments are what i look for in politicians. Things that work for a long time work for a reason.

    Dear journalist,
Abiy is widely regarded as one of the best leaders in Africa. It is important to acknowledge that many of the problems we see today have deep roots that extend back to previous administrations. Abiy has taken on the immense responsibility of addressing these long-standing issues and working towards their resolution. While it is unrealistic to expect him to solve all problems immediately, he is committed to shouldering the burden and making significant strides towards positive change.

@tedberd - I learned about just some of the complexities of Ethiopia's many ethnic groups and the ethnic hatreds of certain ethnic groups from a fellow Registered Nurse (Orthodox Christian) & it reminded me of the Balkans. I see Abiy going to war with Eritrea to at least get the southern port because they pay though the nose to get goods in through Djibouti. It's survival. I'd like to see Ethiopia develop more but Eritrea is kneecapping any chance of that. I don't favor starting wars but Eritrea is in the way (3.8 million persons) vs 145 million. I think by sometime this coming year. Eritrea is holding it's own people down and hindering Ethiopia. Prosperity could help alleviate ethnic tensions to a safer level I would hope.

There’s no ethnic hatred in Ethiopia. To see this you have to backtrack the history of Ethiopia. Ethiopians target always was the regime. Mostly recently the regime created ethnic federalism to divide peoples unity against the regime. The new ethnic federalism give false hope that if a lead comes from such tribe it will empower that tribe but in reality that tribes life no different than any others. Prosperity party plays the same old tactics to stay in power, it has zero police’s or plan to change ethnic federalism. All it did was change former party names 4 or 5 times.

Absolutely, this criticism seems unjustified and overly simplistic. The situation he's in is a classic 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' scenario. If he chooses not to fight, he's accused of passivity and letting his nation crumble. If he opts for confrontation, he's criticized for aggression. It's an impossible bind. In such complex situations, decisions are rarely black and white. There are layers of nuance and geopolitical dynamics at play that a simplistic hit piece won't capture. Real leadership often involves making the least bad choice from a set of difficult options, not the ideal choice from a set of good ones.

Thank you for creating this video and giving a voice to the Tigray, Amhara, and Oromo victims of the brutal and manipulative Ethiopian government under Abiy Ahmed and his regime. Genocide and famine have been used as mechanisms of war against these people. Women are raped, civilians are killed, and children are savagely murdered by the Ethiopian federal forces under Abiy Ahmed's command. This dehumanization of ethnic groups demands justice. The international community must act swiftly to hold him accountable for these atrocities. Justice is needed for peaceful opposition parties, journalists, and human rights activists who have been arrested or killed by this regime. The International Criminal Court should bring Abiy Ahmed to justice, setting an example for all African leaders.

Africans need to ween themselves off of the poisoned-chalice institutions like The Hague. They don’t represent us& never have they. We must seek to band together as Africans in order for us to solve the problems of our continent.
And if history is anything to go by, it’s clear that any& all foreign interference on the motherland has brought nothing but despair& destruction.

Eritrea has always been an independent sovereign country for centuries. The Turkey Egypt Italy and the British have consequentially colonised Eritrea while Ethiopia was a free country that has not been colonised. Yet the UN decided on a federation agreement between Eritrea and Ethiopia. But after a few years that treaty was obliterated by the Ethiopian emperor at that time and annexed Eritrea as an Ethiopian state. Ethiopia then started to colonise Eritrea by force.

The politics of Ethiopia is more complicated than any other nation on earth!
In Ethiopia, there are so many different people who happened to be living together.
The current Ethiopia was invented by special people who live in northern Ethiopia and Southern Ethiopia ( Gonder and Gurages)
Originally, Hebrews and the children of King Solomon. These people are literally dominant of Ethiopian politics. That stayed up to Haile Silasie( the lion of Yihuda)
Then that lion was destroyed by Amhara's Derg.
A military gang! They oppressed others! They convinced others cannot be leaders.
The Tigrayans who resides on the gate of Ethiopia, they saw themselves as left behind and Ethiopia is the idea of Amhara!
So they fought together with the now Eritrea against the Derg regime!
Russia Orthodox nation like the Amharas supported the Derg and Americans suppoted the EPRDF( Tigray and Eritrea).
After so many years of disastrous war, those who were supported by Americans won the war! That was so bad that the famine produced those scary images which becomes the image of Ethiopia by the rest of the world!
The boss of EPRDF called TPLF( Tigrayans) focused on dismantling the unity of Ethiopia by educating other ethnics groups to have their own language, flags, and restore their past captures in their own autonomy. Which became a serious problem for the unity of Ethiopia as all 85 ethnics groups see themselves as countries instead of part of a big country called Ethiopia! Because the boss of Tigrayans TPLF deliberately encouraged them to emphasise on what makes them different than what makes them united!
On top of that they even erected monuments that provoc others by teaching them as if the Amharas had practiced genocide against them! These things fuelled up hatrates against the Amharas!
Groups like OPLF and many others stood for revenge against Amharas!
However, with the TPLF there came a serious devisions! Between the separatist TPLF and those who wanted the unity of Ethiopia. TPLF created a party called EPRDF which are composed of all ethnics groups of Ethiopia to work for the interests of TPLF. Creating two or more parties from opposition parties and the TPLF's EPRDF. Now, those who saw the weaknesses of TPLF, namely the EPRDF of Oromo and Amharas together with the separatists OPLF( Oromo's people liberation from) together, they oversmarted the TPLF and took the power out of the hands of TPLF and EPRDF! After they won, TPLF's EPRDF, TPLF who felt betrayed, went back to Tigray and wage war against the new Abiy's Ethiopia. During the war against TPLF, Amharas, Oromos and even Eritrea United to defeat with combined forced. Because even if the TPLF stripped its federal government power, still leads the Ethiopian army! And the Ethiopian army were in Tigray by the time. That gave them the confidence to take back the federal government! They fought hard but they lost because of Abiy's smart moves.
Now after surrendering TPLF, Abiy started revealing what his party stands for. That disappointed everyone! Meanwhile, OPLF, started killing Amharas in the most ruthless ways, while the Abiy government doing nothing about it as the federal government leader. That makes the Amharans to doubt Abiy's prosperity party. On top of that Abiy demanding Amharas disarmament without resolving Amharas new and serious concerns! That drove the Amharas fano a militant defender of Amharas interest to wage war against what the Oromo's government!
The secret of Ethiopia is that the general public deeply United with Ethiopian national sentiments! But the leading groups, always uses some weakness and gossips of ethnics special interests; to mobilise them against the leading groups and after the gain power, they then show that they no longer interested in those special interests apart from they are now the new leaders of the wider Ethiopia and the new protectors of the interests of the wider Ethiopia. However, their trustees will be only their own ethnics groups!
That's how Ethiopian politics looks like when described honestly, and fairly!
The people are however, already mixed and they prefer unity over anything else!
Abiy however, looks he does care for the Ethiopians in general! His weakness as I can see is that he loves the power more than anything else!
The weakness of Amharas, is them wanting the culture of Ethiopia to be the culture of the entire Ethiopia!
The weakness of Tigrayans is that focusing on dismantling whatever was built by Amharas!
The weakness of Oromo is wanting the capital of Ethiopia to be Oromo's capital!
Them letting go their weakness help Ethiopia strengthen it's unity!
Wherever in the world, people are mixed, we cannot bring the past generations issues to define the future generations!
The past people may be different, but the current people are new and mixed people with new interests!
People are always innocent just to say the least!
Unity always works better than devisions!!!
Think togetherness, that is the future!!!
    Your problem is my problem!
    Your gain is my gain!
    The Blessed 🙌

as an Ethiopian this video honestly largely excludes Abiy's side of the story, i try to be as neutral as possible in forming my opinion as my country's currently in a very tricky situation and so i try not to skew too harshly to one side but you honestly need to consider that the man given the task of making a country more democratic while arguably the lack of democracy itself was what was preventing a major conflict such as the recent northern conflict from breaking out earlier. in hind sight its easy to point out the results of his decisions as nothing but obvious but in truth he was in a position of power where everyone even the Oromo mistrusted him as they saw him as a traitor that sided with the TPLF and at the moment believe it or not his decisions were viewed as sensible steps towards peace by almost every media outlet within the country. while the west mostly agrees that a peaceful Yugoslavia is the best outcome all that would do is turn a would be civil war into a normal war. while groups like the OLA and the TPLF are influencal in this stage they're very much the loud minority, the majority of Ethiopians simply want peace and would be happy to forgive and forget the sins of their ancestors but paranoid militant groups that run a heavily one sided rhetoric contribute nothing towards peace.

Ahh and we continue to see ancient tribalism be the undermining of African nations. countries rich in natural resources, with relatively young populations capable of working throw their capability away in the name of tribal disputes instead of working as a cohesive entity.
happens throughout african nations and is largely the reason for so many rebelions, coups, and militias which plague the continent.
african nations have so much potential but they fail to live up to it.

Correction : Among a number of errors in your detailing of the war, the most prominent was how the war started. It began following the preemptive strike by the Tplf insurgents upon the North command forces that secured the border between Eritrea and Ethiopia🔔🔔🔔. You keep confusing Fano with the Amhara special forces. Fano militia became active as a result of subsequent direct attacks on farming societies of Amhara background following the massacres by OLA, Tplf and others alike. The Amhara Special forces however were the allies that fought in Tigray war who have themselves been disbanded at this time.

The reality on the ground has been hidden from the world, Abiy Ahmed works hard to keep the outside world out of his affairs, but behind the sceen he is raining bullets with drones on innocent civilians because he can't see or find the freedom fighters. The freedom fighters ( FANO) have the ability to fight from key positions and they are also in an advantageous position, because they are familiar with the terrain.
