Relizing how old i am "Cuts Like A Knife" 😉
18 til I Die ... just saw him in concert last year and he's still killing it
Thanks for the laugh!😂
Ohhh, youuuuu...😅
I see what you did there 😂😂❤
But it feels so right!
Also remember when Mtv played music videos 24 hrs a day
Trying to make your mix tape from the videos. Half of the songs had either a brother, sister, or parent screaming at someone.
"Video killed the radio Star"
I was so sad when MTV changed their whole format. It instantly stopped competition to drop the best video.
Geez videos are what made us want to go see them live. Now you only go to live shows if you're a total fangeek. Not because you saw a new to you band on Headbagers Ball or Yo MTV Raps etc.

What is the first video to play on Mtv?
VKTRS
99 🎈 Luftballons 🎈
NOT the English translation.
Omgosh yes!❤
If you were German you were also afraid to turn around because the commissioner was walking around and talked like a child saying there- there-there....
Holy crap!
I also know 'We Belong' with the 'Lady in Red' who can 'Call Me Al.' 😂😂
It's been 42 years and we still don't know how far they ran.
They ran both night and day….
They ran.. so far... so far away.. Also Iran can be far away
If you had to “wake me up before you go go”, if you were “hot for teacher”, and if you were “hungry like the wolf”….
Hitting the play/record buttons just in time 😂
Expert move was having Play/Record/Pause set so all we had to do is hit the pause off to start recording.
breaking off that plastic piece once you were done or putting on Scotch tape to reuse the cassette
But then you reach the end of the tape and there is still 45 seconds of the song left.
If you wore your sunglasses at night?
That’s cause the future so bright you gotta wear shades😎
Perfect for part 2
I was coming here to say this. Corey Hart! ❤
I still hate manic Mondays!
I wish it was Sunday! ❤
Cuz that's my fun day
I heard the drums echo in the night and it rocked me like a hurricane
And I wanted to rule the world, take on me, and it was just like heaven, and I was right here right now with Jesus Jones
Now these songs are gonna be stuck in my head for days. Loved MTV back then nothing but music videos. I miss those days!!😢
I can't fight this feeling.. we may have missed a few of the greats, but you included most of them.
Anybody got a time machine? Can we go back ?
Can I Go Too?!?!?!
Me, too! Please?
We definitely need to. World was a better place
Oh, you’re my people all right. I’m so glad I found you quite a while back. Love this channel man.
Sunday afternoon from noon to four, we listened to Casey counting down the songs on the radio. "Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars."
WE listened to the countdown in the evening on Sun. evenings on the way back home from the day with Dad.Loved his voice
Omg. they have a Casey Kasem channel on SiriusXM! Just discovered it recently.. Brought back so many emotions when I heard his voice!
All the above ! A proud GenX right here turning 50 next month 🎉
Happy Birthday
If you’re not gonna take it anymore!
❤❤❤❤ Dee Snyder. & Twisted Sister

Did you know that song was written to the tune of O Come All Ye Faithful? Check out their Christmas album!
There are so many songs, and so many memories! What a great time to be alive! I was born in 71, so I grew up in the disco era. Boogie shoes, smoke on the water, Free Bird, Heart of Glass, and so many more .😊😊😊😊
Born in 61 n remember all these, plus the ones Dad listened to on the radio every morning.
1970 for me👍
I'm coming up to my 53rd year on this earth, 18 days to go.
@craigs71 Happy early Birthday! I hope you have a great one! 🎁🎉🎂🍻🎉
& I still listen, time after time. 💚
GenX 🤗 my peeps indeed, where mixtapes were a labor of love and done with scientific precision lol
Great memories!!!! Thank you for letting everyone know how great our generation was! We had the best songs, movies and commercials!
If you know "he heee" after poking his belly you may be Gen X.
Hi John, Thanks for the laughs!😂...If you went to a White Wedding and the groom found out his Love was in Jeopardy...(RIP Greg Kihn).
That's me! I hung out with Jack and Diane and Tarzan Boy in the Land Of Confusion back in the day. We were Footloose and loved our Freedom. We were pretty crazy, and I wasn't sure I'd Live To Tell all our stories. Glad I did! Good night, my people. Don't Worry, Be Happy. ❤
Grew up with all the good songs and my music .is still the 80s 😂
I still have tapes and vinal records including the Miami Vice sound track form 83.
Damn it, Janet. Dude just remember Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The DJ *always stepped on the song! 🎧 😂
❤ this !!! Gen X '73 baby
I did all that, born in 82. Geriatric millennial here!😂
🙋♀️ same here 😂
I'll sponsor you for the club. You check out.
I’m a few years younger than you, but same! Middle-older millennials aren’t much different than X’ers, we were just as feral and had all the same music, just at a bit different times in our lives.
Graduated high school in 81 knew all of them. GOOD TIME'S
My first mtv music video was Girls Just wanna have fun. I still dance my ass off to it. 😂😂 ahh 1982…. CALGOOON TAKE ME BACK!!
CalGone it’s no ancient Chinese Secret 🤫
I graduated in 84. Most of those songs are in my current playlist. 70s and 80s music will always stand the test of time!
When your "Parents Just Don't Understand" and they're yelling and asking "What do you want to do with your life?!" and all you say is "I Wanna Rock" and look at "Girls, Girls, Girls" while living on the "Wild Side"
Still have many buttons from those days.😂
I remember Madonna on Vision Quest!
Was she Crazy For You
Summer of ‘69 baby right here! 🤘🏻
Yes definitely all of the above 🤭❤️✌️ Gen X to the bone ☠️
Those were the days!!!
I had my absolute cassette and my tape ready, listening, intently 🤣
I remember when MTV played music videos😂
Before I was deployed to Bosnia in 97-98 I recorded several tapes of the radio station that I like to listen to KSBJ 89.3 fm.
At nighttime on Saturday night they would have Light Force program that was Christian songs more like rock and early rap
When I went to Bosnia I took the tapes with me and I was playing them and the announcer on the tape said and it's a great Saturday night and the temperature right now in Houston is 89 degrees. Welcome to KSBJ 89.3 light Force.
My buddy walking by, gasped and said your radio picks that out from here? He didn't realize those were tape recordings i had brought.
GOD Bless you and your families
How bout remember yesterday walking hand and hand 😢 I remember you 😢 take me back to my best years of my life please 😢
Back when Sebastian Bach was singing for Skid Row. Skid Row is definitely not the same without Baz
I remember all of em....
Anyone remember The Groovy Ghoolies.??😂
Underrated cartoon.
My life soundtrack has all those songs.
Wow I'm old I remember all of that of which you speak😂
Pete Townshend’s “Let My Love Open The Door” was a great tune. He was the guitarist for The Who. Look that up, youngsters.
That number is Stacy mom's number, who was Jessie's girl, her name was Jenny
I got her number off a wall!
@@Irish381 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😊🥰
Best time ever, being a teen in
Best generation ever
You're right I am your people even though I am a 1960 Boomer you are still my people same values😊😊
But I still don't know what I wanna do with my life. So I'll go ride the crazy train. Remember every breath you take can seem like a battlefield if you're living in the land down under. Tell Billie Jean I said hi and to watch out for der kommissar.
I can still hear Mark Metcalf aka Neidermeyer yelling "What do you want to do with your life?!"
You can play any of these songs on the radio and within the first few bars you'd have Gen Xers poking their heads out of their burrows like prairie dogs wanting to party!
Exactly!
@@genxjono My favorite is when my teenagers come to me and say oh Mom I found this great new band. The newest one was The Cure. When I started singing the song they looked at me like, how can you know the lyrics I just found them. I'm like honey that music is older than you are! Welcome to the party! 🎉
The 80's music was the music 🎶🎵 yesssss❤
The number of times I yelled at the dj to shut up! Jeesh. How was i supposed to record the darn song?
If Bryan Adams made that song today, it'd be called Summer of '08.
18 and life was a long time ago 😂
Hey don't forget Generation X is the "Youth Gone Wild"
Madonna before Papa Don't Preach... good times...
Love your content!!! Keep it up!
As long as you didn't "drink the coolaid" in Jamestown you had a kickass childhood. 😂 maybe you saw "Paradise by the dashboard lights" could "Eat It" or who's "I'm Fat" (GOT to have more Weird Al references) 😂😂😂
Now I got to search TH-cam for Meatloaf.
Don’t forget My Sharona
A lot of memories there, thanks 😊
Poetry from rock lyrics..I'm gonna be laughing and replaying..until learn every word...while doing dishes. Thankyou yeah knew every single song
Omg this is my play list 😂
Billie Jean is not my lover, she’s just a girl who thinks that I am the one, but the kid is not my son.
95% of the time the DJ always stepped on the song
Hi Jono, I also knew a little diddy about "Jack and Diane," because I "Born in the USA", :)
That was perfect!!
When the song stopped just short of the end 😢😢😢
Hey John, I sure did 🤗
Fun fact about me: I used to think the lyrics When the work and day are done was When the world gets naked, girls just wanna have fun. Hey it still worked with her because her song She Bop and we all know what that was about😏😏
I'm Gen X, and was doing all that in the late 70s...
Thats because they had the touch to cool the engine's and build the ciry
Yep an the dj always stepped in
I love this one!!!! Too funny! ❤❤❤
The memories you bring back to me!!!! The best of times!!!
Love all the music from 70s through the 90s. I love music!
Home made mix tapes. Didnt get better than that. First year melinial, 65.
I Swear, I Love This Channel!! ❤❤😂. It’s sometimes hard (emotionally) to remember how long ago so many of your Best memories are from 😢❤
As a mid 80s baby, I'm proud to say, I know ALL of these! Thanks for sharing!
I love this channel!! Everyone is so much fun!! ❤ Our generation is the best!
Great memories I knew all the songs and played several in my car in the past two days. We had the best music!
But what if we like to go Down South Jukin in La Grange while Flirting With Disaster? 😁
Sounds like you got it made in the shade travelin' down that road.
John ya gotta get some of the other stuff in there. Ratt, Pouson, Slaughter, Def Leppard, Heart, Pat Benatar , The Cure, Rush, Lita Ford, The Pretenders, Culture Club, Stevie Nicks, Steve Miller Band, 38 Special, Bob Segar, Kansas, Robert Plant, Motley Crüe, Ozzy, Kiss, Dio, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister and soooooo many more....
Yes my musical taste is just about everything across the board
I won Miss Lincolnshire in 1989 and they played Tina Turner’s “Simply The Best’ when they crowned me. Whenever I hear it now, it takes me right back to that night. Great memories 🥹
You dont even wanna know how long it took me to record Youth Gone Wild off the radio without the GD DJ talking over the intro.
Probably about as long it took me to record 18 and Life off the radio. I hated when they finally play the song you want to record they to have talk during the beginning or near the end of the song. Sometimes the DJ would talk at the beginning and near the end.
Thank you so much for the Rick Springfield shout-out!!! That totally made my day for sure!!!
Hell Yeah! My first concert was 1986- I was 7 - and it was Tina's Private Dancer tour- still one of my greatest achievements - amazing show - I saw her 3 more times after that - I miss those days!
87 millennial here to cheer!
I've heard every single song you just mentioned. I graduated out of High school in the 80's. That time was the best. Memorable sayings good songs and good movies.
Them radio mix tapes was ALWAYS the best❤❤❤
I was in HS in the 80:s !! Best HS dances ever! Still love these songs ❤️
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! ABSOLUTELY GEN X, MY PEOPLE 😀. The generation that some people seem to have an imaginary issue with. Yet benefitting the most from us, borrowing the most from us. Yeah! Honor your mothers and your fathers. We're still in the game. BROOKLYN 1971
Every Sunday we listened to American Top 40 weekly countdown.
Wrote them all down. Wish I still had those notebooks. 😢❤
Right on . Nicel to know I'm not the only one who knows these songs.
Thanks for your channel 😀😀😀
Madonna was never a Virgin...😂
Oh the time and patience waiting to press that button!!! With my cassette loaded up!
And having a pencil on standby while listening to said tape lol
This is gonna have me jamming to my oldies alllllllllllll day!
If you Turned Up Your Radio…if you spread Blasphemous Rumors…if you were a Smooth Operator…if you fought alongside the Dream Warriors…if you Walked THIS Way…if you Don’t Need Another Hero…
