Absolutely 👌🏽
I discovered this in 1985 watching Pretty in Pink and have loved it ever since. Just magical, voice is unmatched.
Yes! Loved John Cryer’s dance interpretation of this song in Pretty in Pink! So memorable and funny. John Cryer is a master at physical comedy.
Me too!😂
Yes! that's how I know and love this song. Jon Cryer really did do it justice! It's been a favorite ever since. The emotion!
I'm 71 year old, I was bless to hear this song 💕

The greatest soul singer with the most kick-ass group of musicians. This is the incredible result!!!
The band was Booker T. and The MGs. Produced by Issac Hayes.
I so love this song. As a little boy my dad dance to it and I we watched them dance with my Mom. Beautiful memories.
My dad owned a bar growing up and this was in the juke box and he played it for me.. Good times 👍

Me, too!! Happy Father's day in Heaven, Daddy! I know you and Mama are still dancing! 💙♥️😊😢
Otis was in his twenties when he departed this life and I never knew anyone at this age that sings so soulful. This is when music was music.
"I invented swag"
- Otis Redding
Otis Redding IS the master of soul's music. God bless his holy soul
I hope all the souls living and dead involved with this song know they created magic in the studio/during the recording session.
This song breathes life back into people.
Agreed! 👌🏻
That's true tell me one reason you like this song?
@@genfrankdouglas the beat starts off calming, then shifts to an upbeat tone. Plus, the lyrics speak truth that's still relevant today.
❤❤❤
Yes indeed
I am not black, but I know about soul because I grew up in an inner NYC neighborhood dancing to the Motown sound with my black neighbors. When I try to explain "soul" to people who aren't black, I tell them to listen to this song by Otis Redding. To me, this epitomizes soul. Listening to this song makes me roll my head side to side like Steven Wonder and get into the zone. Blacks have made the most incredible contribution to music, and I cannot imagine a world without it. Americans would still be crooning about "spooning by the silvery moon" songs were it not for the musical salvation our African Americans brought us. And even today they keep doing it - innovating and revolutionizing the world of music internationally most recently with their own homegrown Hip-Hop "rapping" How about that.
This song is perfection!!!! Otis Redding’s music in general - so much passion/soul.
Great !!
Pure Soul!
Always touches my soul when I hear the GREATEST Otis
Brings tears . This is real music. GOD blessed brother Otis.
I'm 13 and love soul music so Otis Redding is know as a legend especially Sam Cooke I like old soul music I been learning about different musicians when I was 11.

Imagine all of the music this legend could have written, had he not died so young (at only 26)?

For me, that man could have been singing rock or metal without problems, his version of this song in London towards the end his screams sound half metal.
I started out in music as a drummer, but when I first heard this song I had two thoughts; I never knew someone could sing like this and also, at that moment, I knew I wanted to be a singer for the rest of my music career. Otis was the man!
Absolute classic, none of this over produced and over dubbed crap, just a great voice and great backing band.
Song brings back flood of memories... Visiting my family as a child in Compton Los Angeles... All the parents jamming to "Otus Redding" 💯Soul Music All Day and Night!
Duckie dancing in record shop in pretty in pink. My dream man and me slow dancing in a parking lot. A hobo and her dream. ❤
2:52 that’s my favorite part because of Duckie’s dance in Pretty in Pink
Otis Redding Sam Cooke Al Green a few of the greatest soul singers. Its never been the same those that have not heard these artists have no idea what talent and soul truly is.
You're right about that lineup
He sings this to the point that I feel every note of this song in my soul!
We should all try a Little tenderness the world might be a better place
Yes it will 💕
Amen to that!❤
This song was around for many years before Otis, and he did make it his own. I'm pretty convinced though, it was hearing Sam Cooke's live version from the Live at the Copa album that compelled Otis to do this song.
It's such a beautiful song. You just feel like dancing
OTIS AND PERCY ARE THE TWO MAIN MEN FOR SINGING SOUL - THEY ARE WHAT SOUL MUSIC IS ALL ABOUT
"Sounds so soulful, don't you agree?"
SQUEEZE HER, DONT TEASE HER
1000 percent!!!’ ❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
"i invented swag. poppin' bottles, puttin super models in the cab"
I guess I got my swagger back, truth
NEW WATCH ALERT
This why Elvis and Otis were such good friends.
Oh, she may be weary
Young girls they do get weary
Wearing that same old shaggy dress, yeah yeah
But when she gets weary
Try a little tenderness, yeah yeah
You know she's waiting
Just anticipating
For things that she'll never, never, never, never possess, yeah yeah
But while she's there waiting, without them
Try a little tenderness (that's all you gotta do)
It's not just sentimental, no, no, no
She has her grief and care, yeah yeah yeah
But the soft words, they are spoke so gentle, yeah
It makes it easier, easier to bear, yeah
You won't regret it, no, no
Some girls they don't forget it
Love is their only happiness, yeah
But it's all so easy
All you gotta do is try, try a little tenderness, yeah
All you gotta do is, man, hold her where you want her
Squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave her
Get to her, try, try
Just try a little tenderness, ooh yeah yeah yeah
You got to know how to love her, man, you'll be surprised, man
You've got to squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave
You've got to hold her and rub her softly
Try a little tenderness, ooh yeah yeah yeah
You've got to rub her gentle man, all you gotta do, no no
You've got to love her, squeeze her, don't tease her
Gotta try nah nah nah, try
Try a little tenderness, yeah, watch her groove
You've gotta to know what to do, man
Take this advice
Imagine all the things he could've done if his life wasn't so short. RIP King 💖💖
This is one of the most masterfully created songs ever created
What a voice, what a song.
Met him 52yrs. Personality as big as voice...shook Al of our hands as kids!
He died in 1960s bro

They say they don't make music like they used to, this is the music! I wish I could go back to the 80's so bad!!
This is from the 60s
@alden547 I was referring to my childhood not the year of the song
@@Mkats1984 ah .. the 80s were pretty cool. I was watching cartoons and building treehouses.

Instructions for those who are intuitive enough to catch the drift.. let it make you shift… it’s a gift.. thank god for all his messengers. 🙌🏾💛💫
This song and artist go right to my heart. Its a shame have we lost love and courting admiring and appreciating the gift of that one woman.
This is my favorite song ! My grandma owned a thrift store and she always gave us these dresses ! But those dresses were the best thing she ever could of gave me and my girls ! Now my girls play this song and they no ! That old shaggy dress !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awwww, I hope u have these dresses & pass them on as long as u can (with the song & period of life!)❤
Booker T outdid himself with that soaring organ solo at the end, incredible! When I was in high school this is one of about only a dozen vinyl albums I owned and I used to play and played and played this song as well as others by Otis.
i think that mite be Issac Hayes on organ and Booker T on piano...i read somewhere they switched for some reason on this tune...
He was only 26 years old when he passed away. Amazing at any age, but wow!
2024 we are on ❤
132 dislike. Are you deaf?!
Otis is taking us to church!!
Always touches my soul when I hear the GREATEST Otis
People just don't know. Otis was far ahead of his time. Can you picture Otis being around in say, 1978. He would have been #1 in the world in music. He was absolutely stunning, astounding, reverent, spectacular, outstanding, and prolific, amongst other things.
The races or haters
those 132 didnt try any Tenderness...
I need to get more into old school music. I’ve heard this song before but for some reason.... I’m just now seeing that he MURDERED this track 😳
Its a banger
Durand Jones and the Indications
Old school is the best...Al Green , Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, James Brown, the Islay brothers etc etc...

Love it, just like yesterday 💞🔥🔥🔥
Me and my first love danced to this song, I love it!
Otis redding ❤❤
I love soul. There's just not enough of it to go around these days. This is one of the best recordings of "Try a Little Tenderness" out there. I also like The Commitments' version.
Otis was out of Macon, Georgia. Otis had a voice that kinda crawled up on you, such expression in there and he found that thing in Memphis.
Another large-hearted guy who left us too soon. Something to be said about "the good die young!"
Always good on a Sunday morning. Thanks
Beautiful makes me think about my childhood memories of my daddy and I.
Otis is taking us to church!!
This song literally gives me chills.. So beautiful. ❤ I need me and Otis. He sure was a gentleman. 😘

It's just to get there pants off
STRANGER WBC Good execution, Superchief ! It’s “their” not “there.”
One of the last songs he sang live in a TV in Cleveland Ohio the day before he and his band members perished.
Always good on a Sunday morning. Thanks
It is beyond soulful
I love this song
I still hear this song and still picture Ducky busting a move across a record store.
I loved that movie. I used to be a huge Molly Ringwald fan.
It's spelled Duckie but he got dem moves
🌬🎸🎶🎶🎵🎶❤
We never forget those who show us respect and kindness along the way… for more of those, ESPECIALLY at this time, I PRAY. We all seek love acceptance understanding and kindness.. shall we work to infuse that in every day.. in all our ways.. in our displays.. in our praise…🙌🏾
APPLAUSE going out to the band on this tune
and with OTIS vocals it makes a SOULFUL CLASSIC!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Brings back so many good memories with feelings I haven't felt in a long, long time. He was the greatest showman and singer in his generation. He introduced me to true soul music, and so many artists were influenced by him and his music. You gotta, y ok you gotta 😂😂
