I bought both the 800 and 1100 scramblers used for like $15k combined Really loving both of them but imo I like the 800 more as it's smaller and more agile and I mostly keep all my bikes in 5000+ rpm range all the time, but the extra torque is really great on the 1100
The 1100 is gorgeous.More torque, kicks in lower. That's what I like. Does it have the same electrical glitches as the 800? A TFT on a scrambler doesn't look right.
Get a cheap japanese 125, ride it heavy for a month or two before getting this , make all your mistakes on the smaller bike, keep both if you can , the 125s are decent daily drivers/ commuters. I know the temptation is there to get the tribute, but youre inevitably gonna make mistakes for at least a few months initially.
I bought a triumph scrambler 1200 as a first bike and added bars and bark busters, THEN dropped it a few times. It's an all road bike, it's going to get dropped by anyone.
The most smallest disappointing part on the tribute is the Phillips head screw fastening the side covers.🤦♂️ Really? Is it at least stainless or zinc plated?

Scrambler: popular for its simple stripped down vibe. Ducati: let’s put a stupid butt ugly colour TFT display on it. I’m on a 2015 Icon 800 and my children will inherit it from me.
Just buy the older version, because it's the same bike, just with a new paint job, they haven't changed those scramblers since they first came out, lazy design by Ducati 🤦🤦
@@lgrw660factory Not sure if this is actually how it is, but the newer ones past the first one or two years have a much better fuel injection mapping so the throttle is not so sudden
@@fa-ajn9881 Personally, it’s only now that Ducati have finally upgraded the electronics on these bikes that I’d even consider one. Actually, it’s still a no from me. Even the new 2023 models are too expensive for what you get.
I can't have one of these. I don't drink IPAs, I don't have lens-less glasses, I don't wear pegged jeans, I don't listen to vinyl records while pretending they sound better than CDs, and I don't have a man-bun.
A massive thanks to Tim as always for helping out with this video 👍🏍️💨

Im about to trade in my 1100 with the new 800. I feel the 1100 is a little too much bike for city riding. I hope I don’t regret it
My verdict- buy a used older scrambler- cheaper and better looking; the new ‘aesthetic’ looks plastic…
This right here!!!
For some reason seeing that silver screw head next to "Ducati" on the side of that gas tank is driving me nuts.

Lovely bike, that TFT is a crime though.
Nice the front brake hose finally got rerouted 😊
1100 is more beautiful
I love the design of the 1100, would it be a stretch for a new rider?
Yes. New riders should ride used bikes that will be dropped at least once. Don't buy anything over 7k for a first bike.

I started with a 1300, flew off, and nearly died… so nah it might not be a good idea. Ride safe :)

Thank you for this honest review
Its the belt changes and desmo service cost that puts me off ducatis
$700 every 7500 miles?
@@Zinski1911 what if dont do that mileage every year, how long do belts last?
Motobob looks so different here, who’s his surgeon
I road both & the 800 is more fun & nimble to ride
I’ve just sold my 18 plate 1100 a great bike especially on the twistys lower bars fly screen sticky tires, the brakes are amazing I miss it already
I'd love a 1100 desert sled with the 2023 upgrades
I already have a Streetfighter V4... I'll take the new 800 since I won't be left wanting for more power. Plus I'm spoiled with quick shifters.

Tim...do you have your own channel?
Hello, is the sound of the stock exhaust good enough? I suspect buying two Termis would be expensive.
I bought one recently, the 1100 sport pro and it sounds fantastic! Classic Ducati twin
That tank panel on the 1100 with that stainless x head screw is awful , lovely paint job but my eye would always be drawn to it
Ugh yeah I would be tempted to paint it or SOMETHING
Agree 100% would drive me nuts lol
Clear precise comments. Thanks
What kind of riding pants are those?
Why not get a Monster 821? Lighter, more powerful and better looking. You are not taking this lump offroad anyway.
I'd buy none, because of the desmo service
Any news on the BSA Scrambler?
Have you seen the pics of the custom scrambler at Motorcycle Live? Looks very cool - hopefully they do go on to make a production model
C'mon Honda, a CL1100 with DCT please?
Would like to see that for sure!

New 800 is tik tok bike for tik tok bikers
It's actually a completely different bike (although you would 't tell at first glance). New frame, suspension, tank, seat, lighting, electronics, etc
No one needs a wallet anymore. I use my Iphone.
Scrambler 800 vs 1100?
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 wins!!!
Yeah get neither, avoid Ducati prices and service, get a Speed twin. Loving mine!
the new design is trash
