Ooooh you should go back and get the Hellebores! They are perennials, and while you might not get them for super long this season, they'll provide a lot of pleasure for you next winter when they come out again! Plus they spread really nicely, if not too quickly. I just bought almost the exact same ones you looked at there, in the picotee red, and the green/white! I'm enjoying them in the house until they are done flowering, then I'll pop them in the garden so that I can enjoy them next year!

Here in Colorado most use an edging to finish off gravel areas and garden plantings. Even cottage styles. I love spring plants such as pansy's and primroses, but with our heat they don't last long. Try to spread the dollars on perennials which have longer life!!! We use lot of card board with topping of natural bark in our pathways and edging to finish off a clean look!!! Yippy Spring is here and we all get to dig away in the dirt!! Happy Gardening Everyone 🌷🌷🌷

And here we thought you were having a day of rest from the convent Sean, but still you are doing more shovelling! Great job on the driveway. I too love a cottage garden, it will look a beautiful mass of colour when all the plants get established. I’m also a fan of that pittosporum that you bought but here in NZ those ‘shrubs’ grow into trees. Your particular choice is my favourite because of the tiny leaves. 🌷🌸🌺🌻💐🥰

The hellebore is such a fantastic plant to have - yes, it is almost finished blooming for this year, but it will bring so much colorful joy during the winter next year. It is one of my all time favorite plants. They come back year after, year, after year. Maybe you will sneak back over and get one. The gravel looks so fresh and nice. I bought two heathers last year that can take the hot sun and some good dipping below freezing. And they bloom twice a year. A wee further south on the US east coast than you guys in northern France. If you can, please show us where you plan to put the green tiles from the convent. Gravel looks good.
