One of the features of Amaroo Park's history has been the AMSCAR Series for touring cars, created by Amaroo's promoters, the Australian Racing Drivers Club and staged annually from 1982 to 1993. Popular with spectators and easy for Sydney's Channel 7 to telecast, it became the backbone of the Sydney touring car scene, a scene which once consisted mostly of privateers who have largely disappeared since Amaroo closed, with the major touring car teams now operating from Melbourne and south-east Queensland. On many occasions these events featured larger grid numbers than did the rounds of the national level Australian Touring Car Championship.

What a sweet handing car the Masterton Falcon was. it stop and handle so much better than the other famous green Falcon, until the second half of 1984 season anyway. Couldn't stop watching this over and over. And great battle with Richards, Scott and Morris too. Something we just don't see in todays V8 supercars. Now those were the days....More videos please...love 'em all.

Who thinks this is better racing than anything on offer in 2020? ;) Maybe we should do an Iracing league based on this era of group c? as the parity between cars is good enough where nothing is getting left out to dry

I remember the amscar races, used to go up there regularly, even back in the day around peter williamson racing the rising sun celica, even the day moffat came and race and was given a scare by sheil and jones in thier RX7s, cracking racing always at the park, sadly a bunch of luxury homes on the site RIP Amaroo, Oran park, where I live nearby, me and my mate raced a commodore there at the last event at Oran
