Thank you Rita! Wow you must be very busy with all of your birds! Thanks for the comment. I have had them for almost 2 months now and they are doing very well. They do bring a lot of love and happiness into my life - more than I ever imagined! Good luck with your birds!!! :)
Hello, I enjoyed watching all 5 video's of your two Amazon-girls. When taken care of very well, as yours are, they bring so much joy in your life. I do know, because I'm a parrot-owner too. A.o. I do have an aging Double Yellowheaded Amazon named Beertje, a very talketive African Grey named Alex, a super-sweet Umbrella Cockatoo named Maxi, a Jenday Conure named Jopie and a Pyrrhura named Kiwi. Enjoy your two super-Amazon-girls. Greetings from the Netherlands, Rita
They are both beautiful. I have a Yellow Nape Amazon. At one time I had rescues as well. Thankfully I was able to find great forever homes for all of them. I now just have 3 birds. My Amazon, a handicap African Grey and a B&G Macaw also handicap. Birds are a wonderful addition to any family. My life would not be complete with out them.
Thank you for your message. I can imagine you love Kiwi and Beako already very much. They are adorable and amazing. Great that you have bonded with them in the short time you do own them. And how fantastic that Beako and Kiwi met eachother at that bird rescue. Now they are friends for life and can enjoy eachother's compagny. I think it's the best for parrots to keep more then one, so they can interact. They are flog-annimals. When I start to sing, Beertje tells me at a rude way to shut up. Bye!
Hello (I do not know your name), I think it is a great bennefit to keep birds in pairs, so they can interact and play with eachother. My female Umbrella Cockatoo Maxi and my male African Grey Alex share a cage. They grew up together since Maxi was about 7 weeks and Alex about 6 weeks. Maxi is about 5 days older then Alex. My male Jenday Conure Jopie and my female Pyrrhura Kiwi share a aviary too. My Double Yellowheaded Amazon Beertje wasn't used to other birds at her former owners.
Beako is a 22 year old yellow-crowned amazon, and Kiwi is a 9 year old yellow-naped amazon. I love both of them very much already. Kiwi is a little more aggressive and unpredictable, but Beako is very friendly and mostly gentle. They love music, and when I sing to them they try to sing and dance too! I got them from a bird rescue. They didn't grow up together - they just met each other in February!
My Double Yellowheaded Amazon Beertje was already in her thirties when I bought her. doesn't want to share her cage or toys. She really gets upset when Alex lands on her cage to tease her. I see you have Kiwi and Beako for just 2 months. They really enjoyed to sing along with you on that song. It seems you already have bonded well with them both. How old are they? What gender? Have they always been together? How did you get them? I can send you some pictures when I have your e-mail address.
Sometimes it means they're hissing depending on their other body language (like actually hissing or growling and rearing up to bite) Or they're very excited and they want to play or dance!!
Hello, The Dutch word "Beer" means "Bear". With "Tje" you make the word small, so little bear or joung bear. The pronounsiation comes near to: "Bear-tju". How are your two girls doing? Greetings from the Netherlands, Rita
thats not how it works and most birds dont live entirely in their cages. if you pay attention most actually are trained to free fly and go outside a lot
Greatest joy to sing and dance to the music together! We have 2 amazons and everyday we start with the songs 🥰

My parrot looks like them
What does it mean when Amazons fan their tail?
From what I've seen they're excited.
From Shrek 2
theyre either irritated or excited. (coming from an amazon owner)
Sometimes it means they're hissing depending on their other body language (like actually hissing or growling and rearing up to bite)
Or they're very excited and they want to play or dance!!
