When we started planning repertoire for the Hofkonzerte, I immediately thought of this piece. Even though it’s not your typical upbeat, fun, crowd-pleasing aria for this kind of event, it is (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful offerings ever written.
So I wanted to dedicate this to anyone who needs a prayer today. Our Frontliners. Teachers going above and beyond to care for the next generation. Volunteers. Those who are sick. Those who have lost loved ones. Those who have lost jobs. Those who are forced to continue working and risk their health, and their family’s health. Those who are fearing the future. Those who are hoping for a future.
