The beginning is so noble and this quality is shared by most of Chopin's work and specially by all the four ballades. This nobility is part of what makes Chopin's music exceptional, unlike some other composers who mostly write flamboyant pieces.
Wow. I know I've commented on this video before, but on a pianoReader marathon I came back to it and truly listened to it for the first time... and I'm in love with this piece. The climax at the end is simply wonderful...
listen to Krystian zimerman, he doesnt have the cool effects of rosseau but zimerman can actually play the piece. Rosseau keeps uploading videos of him playing pieces too challenging for him and he cant perform them well.
Surya Prakash you needa rewatch the first ballade. Hes makes minimal mistakes that are technical, but Chopin is about the musicality. And Rousseau butchers the first ballade, especially compared to other pianist. Close your eyes and listen to his ballade, then listen to Zimmerman version with ur eyes closed.
Some of you only listened to the first part of the piece and thought it sounded good and it shows... For a MUCH better interpretation listen to Zimerman, the coda is amazing!
Awesome video! I'd like to see some of Chopin's waltzes, like op. 70 no. 1, op 69. no. 2, op. 34 no. 1 and B. 150. Those are all good! Just suggestions!
Why do you say the beginning part is easy? Don't forgot expression, emotion, phrasing, and melody projection which are all important for the beginning slow part
Amazing, been waiting for this one! Thanks! Are you going to do Rachmaninoff's version of Love's Sorrow? Also, do you split these pieces yourself? If so, incredible job.
+BuildA Snowman I'm 1/10 page finished with learning that piece... Had to stop for a little bit because of school, but I'll make it one day! And yes, I do split most of these pieces myself. I know it's far from perfect, but thank you!
+pianoREADER Wow... never really thought of you as a piano player before (more just a reader xD) I'm curious, what other pieces do you know? How long have you been playing? I can't wait for the Love's Sorrow midi. It has been one of my favorite pieces for awhile. Keep working on it! You won't regret it once you can play one of the best songs in existence :D
I don't know that many pieces from beginning to end, but I do enjoy learning new ones every now and then. I've been playing the piano for about 8-9 years now... (but I'm still kind of a novice at it for some reason haha). And to be clear, I did not make these MIDI files myself, sometimes people get mistaken that they are my performances (I wish). The most I do is split the hands and edit out mistakes sometimes. Lastly, I'm working hard at Liebesleid! It's been fun to learn, but also very frustrating at times. Not giving up yet, though!
Great video but unfortunatly terrible interpretation...Many mistakes, a very... Strange coda, played too fast and without emotions. But I know it must be hard to find good midi of this piece. And for those who want to criticise the fact that I say there's a lack of emotion and a really odd coda (climax), go see Zimmerman and Schmitt-Leonardy interpretation, these are obviously better in terms of technique and interpretation. However, still an excellent video as always ! You deserve so much views than Mariovehe... I don't remember the complete name of his channel but everyone knows who I'm talking about^^ Sorry for my bad English but I'm a young French guy
I agree. Some parts (edit: most if not all parts) of this are played at much too high a tempo. The slow parts have such rich melodies that get washed out in this fast playing.
Too fast - why do so many think the faster the better? some parts even sound like they were sped up if you ask me... prefer slower versions such as zimermans. Still a good video and cool to watch:)
Some piano pieces composed by famous pianists like Beethoven and Chopin are - even if it’s a bit rude to say - copied from Church’s pieces or others (and vice versa). A good example is “Ode to Joy”, that is literally copied from a Church song, but I don’t remember it’s name
Because the beginning section is written with mostly quarternotes which gives the introduction a chorale feeling thus giving you the feeling of church music

Ooooh saaaaaaame
So Christmas, really feeling Christmas song

The beginning is like:
Oh, this doesn't seem that hard.
a little bit later:
HOLY SH*T
Practice makes perfect ;3
@@jajazzn1590 still looks hard
The beginning and middle part are the same difficulty regardless of speed. Speed doesn't determine difficulty.
thats chopin
Stormtorch nope
I might learn this
1:42 kill me
Oh give me a break, you wrote harder.
bach does not learn chopin
but chopin does ( for real he really does)
Now you can "fugue" of here :v
Yep, I said this to my teacher at school... And now I'm absolutely screwed haha
The beginning is so noble and this quality is shared by most of Chopin's work and specially by all the four ballades. This nobility is part of what makes Chopin's music exceptional, unlike some other composers who mostly write flamboyant pieces.
Never have I seen a song this good in an easy key like F and in a major scale!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. I know I've commented on this video before, but on a pianoReader marathon I came back to it and truly listened to it for the first time... and I'm in love with this piece. The climax at the end is simply wonderful...

Just waiting for Rousseau...
When did he say he's gonna perform this??
Yesssss
listen to Krystian zimerman, he doesnt have the cool effects of rosseau but zimerman can actually play the piece. Rosseau keeps uploading videos of him playing pieces too challenging for him and he cant perform them well.

Teddy Bear Super rude
People say that this one is bad. I think 'rushing' makes it sound more dramatic and beautiful. I like this one more than Zimmerman and others.
😎

Crap wrong ballade

That really ture nice
1:43 Best part
how many ballades did chopin make?
personally i like no. 1 more
he made 4 of them. To me the first and the fourth are the best but they are all amazing !
I like no 1 more too
Ballade no. 3 is very underrated, you should listen to that too! It’s my third favourite Ballade.

and it's not bad at all, that's a sign of quality.
Why is it in F major. If the last chord is A minor?
Maxi Salen It starts in F Major
And most of the piece, including the main melody is in F major

I feel like I've heard the beginning section in a church before and I'm not sure why
Luis Miclat Well yes, but I know I recognize the beginning melody from a church
