Have a 2009 Fatboy that I picked up last year. Been smiling ever since. Suffer through the summer here in Phoenix but loving life now. 73 and still going strong.
I'm 38 and I always wanted a harley growing up and the heritage is what you think of when someone says H.D. I enjoy mine every day I ride it all over the U.S. without a issue pure enjoyment and I don't look like everyone else out on the road. The white walls are killer love it.
I have again discovered pure riding.
I own a Heritage and a Road King . There’s absolutely nothing more beautiful , motorcycle wise , than riding and seeing nothing but the road !
Had 2 heritages. A 2000 and a 2006. Loved them both. You’re absolutely right about how beautiful the bike is. I was coming back from Colorado across New Mexico when I decided I was bored and done with my 2017 M8 Limited. Too many electronics, too fancy, and most importantly too hidden from the wind - which I what I have loved for 4+ decades. My wife rode with me for almost 10 years so we got the big fancy “couch bikes” but after she quit and I tried one more trip on the Limited… I knew I was done. Found the 2007 Road King on my channel and I think it’s about perfect. No windshield, no fairing, no radio… I love it. I’m only 57 and the bike only has 63,k on it…so a ton more years and miles coming. Enjoy the miles! 👍
@@Motorcyclewindtherapy thanks for watching
@HarleyGeezer1954 absolutely. Keep 'em coming.
I have a 2023 road glide special and absolutely adore it. Especially that it’s paid off, if I had the extra funds to pay off a heritage I would absolutely do it in a heart beat. Perfect second cruiser for around town. Love your channel.
I got rid off my ultra limited and now ride a 47 knucklehead and a 40 flathead nothing beats riding real iron
Great to hear you are enjoying your motorcycle. It's nice to be able to see the road and what's in front of you without your vision obstructed.
I am so jealous, i just bought a 2022 heritage and i have only ridden it twice because i live in wisconsin. I have owned many bikes over the years and i can say my heritage is by far the most enjoyable bike i have ever owned. It can really do it all. It is so perfect for older riders and smaller riders like myself. Lets enjoy these wonderful bikes! ride safe!
I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I'm doing a couple things to it. I'm not going crazy anymore. The next few videos I'll show what I'm doing and why. I'm keeping it budget friendly. Thanks for watching.
New subscriber from the bald-assed Canadian prairies. Great looking motorcycle. I completely agree with you. Knock off the bags and let it be beautiful. I ride a 2021 Indian Springfield. Around town I remove even the windshield. And you’re right-it does take me back. Like another commenter, I’m 73. Spring can’t come soon enough. I’ll be 25 again.
Nicely said. Thanks for being part of the channel.
Nice looking bike , looks like it fits you well . I am going the same route this spring that is Streetglide is going to be replaced with a newer Heritage due to arthritis in knees and lower back cant wait [Mi right now 16 degrees with windchill at 7 and 3 inches of snow ] . Watching to see what you do with your bike , ride safe .
Circus museum would be cool to take a tour of. 😎👍
Your video editing is terrific.
Long lean and uncluttered, Happy Harley DAYS. RIDE EASY. 😊
@@taylorgilkespie4572 thanks you as well.
Swingarm bag makes it look good 👍👍
Love the new sled it’s a beautiful bike. Dig the retro look and seeing the riding weather down there. I’m jealous it’s 36 deg. And snowing up here in the Northern Sierra’s of Cali right now. I know it’s so much easier to handle than your RG I truly love riding my older road king it feels like a toy after getting off my Glide. As always thanks for your content and safe travels👍
@@wallylasuer6886 thanks for being part of the channel.
Don't have a Harley, got a VTX 1800 F but that's a nice bike. At the end of the vid he put the ear plugs in, I use them too. 68 and still riding!
Great video absolutely agree with you ride safe
I thought the same thing with my Fatboy. I wanted people to see the solid Fatboy wheels. Right now I am looking at a few months of downtime for weather 😢but come March or so I will be back out riding. Looking forward to the next video.
Beautiful bike! I have a Heritage too, no white walls though.
Damn good looking bike its like the 1950s all over again. Nothing like classic styling no matter which Big Twin engine it has.
@@robertjones7792 indeed. 2 other guys I ride with have them a ‘99 and an ‘06.
Awesome!!!
Love your videos
Softail Deuce for around town and an Indian Roadmaster for the highway. That's what I do.
I'm 71 and tour on my Heritage.
I have the new 2024 Hydra Glide. Definitely a retro bike! Love it, but now here in Ohio it is stored away for winter😟
The Hydra Glide is a beautiful machine. I got a chance to sit on one recently. Sorry you guys up nrth are getting hit with so much snow recently.
23 Road Glide here in Ohio also. Tucked in for winter.
Nice ride, If I was to sell my ultra, Id go for a RK Special.
That newer RK special is a nice bike.
As an older rider that’s ridden through the different stages of what was considered to be cool through the journey but didn’t screw up the safety of the bike while riding. I get a kick out of these younger riders that have changed their rides dramatically. From the huge front wheel idea that makes no sense to me. Now the bagger faction that again gives me pause. Plastic bags hanging off the bike is just extra weight not need to include the huge boot on the back. Then the manufacturer throws on all the electronics that aren’t needed and the bike is touching the over weight area with two riders mounted. The manufacturer don’t give a hoot about your safety, they just sell ya the stuff for a good profit. All of this just throws off the balance and weight of the bike. Some riders have the false sense that having a plastic bags with locks will protect their goodies while away from the bike. Won’t work! I’ve traveled around this country with the least amount of stuff being carried on my bike. If I needed extra stuff, I’d put it on a greyhound bus and most likely it would get to my next destination waiting for me. Riders today seem to not have figured out how to make the ride easy. A set of good leather bags and a fire extinguisher plus some tools and a simple first aid kit a can of flat tire fix is about all ya need for the long ride. But I guess I’m just a simple guy who likes making life a little easier and won’t be caught up it’s all this new stuff that just seems to work against an easy ride. Most riders are local town riders, or bar hopper types that don’t ride their big wheel bagger more than 20 miles from home. But it looks good to them parked. Simple is good, just an opinion that works for me. Riders have been riding simple for over 100 years and it seems to work best the simplest way.
Great perspective as we older riders tend to think alike. I have been all over the USA with Road Glides and an Electra Glide. It was time to get back to my roots. I think the manufacturers tend to hire TH-camrs to keep the hype going. as long as possible of course to sell the big touring bikes. I wish some of these older riders I have seen would give it up and go a little smaller. Some of them have no business riding those 900 lb. machines. It's a hard realization though.
They work great for touring, don't need any of the electronics, or Abs brakes
@@TheBadgers I’m learning it is a very versatile machine. A 900lb machine might be better on the interstate though
@ as someone who rides all over the country on one I can tell you the only place a 900 pound machine has any value is on the interstate, but who wants to ride those lol
Yup ; we were watching sturgis. 2024 and hells angels riding in on baggers . My friend said they want to be comfortable. I said well then take a car .
Then we watched a sturgis video in 70’s . Maybe 1% baggers .
🤔🤔🤔 ✊🏻👍👌
I didn’t know there was animosity between the baggers bunch and cruiser crowd !!!
@@crspcritter there seems to be animosity on everything these days.
Ummm, thanks but it has a windscreen on it. That’s a nice Harley.
What can you tell me about the quick disconnect for the bags? I have a O7 heritage
@@GuyWebb-z7t They came with the bike. They are not a Harley product but the dealers sell them. They are very quick to come off and on. Makes life easy.
Each bag is attached by two torx-head screws (T45, seems like) and a fork-ended bar that fits over a rubber grommet at the bottom of the swingarm. Open the bags and remove the screws and they come right off. And the windshield doesn't even use screws, but cams onto rubber grommets.
What’s naked about it? lol. You have a windscreen ;). I have a Road King, love it because of the rubber mounted motor ;)
@@markmcanallen9662 well, from a fully loaded tricked out Road Glide with all the bells and whistles, it makes her pretty naked.😎
Hello Mr Geezer, i noticed that you were putting in earplugs?
I am never without them. specially if I have a full face helmet. My ears are my life and I protect them at all costs. It is how I make a living. Wind is a killer for hearing.
@HarleyGeezer1954 just to set the record straight, I also use them when riding my Streetglide, and when I mow the lawn and when I use the snowblower lol 😆 and my mufflers on my Harley are loud S&S MK45, I was looking around to see if I could find some quiet baffles or db reducers but no luck yet. Keep up the good videos, P.S. iam 71 and still riding
many of us heading the same route…am 72.5 yrs…my current (10th Harley since 1983) is a 2018 Road King. Considering sell or trade for something lower, lighter. have 2 new knees & a hip. safe travels y’all 😎
@@HarleyGeezer1954 I wish I knew that I about your age and almost deaf, I be wearing them from here on out,
You're not riding naked, riding naked is riding without wind protection.
Sometimes I do. Compared to my Road Glides it is very naked.
Get rid of the screen.
I will sometimes. It's a quick release.
