    Bro I have a question I'm a professional Tattooist from OH I'm about to get a new machine wireless. I currently own all three bishop wands the originals. So I like the packer the best because of the stroke, I was thinking either the prime pen 4.2 or the fk one 4.0 because of the price point. However I was thinking about the Acus m1 or maybe flux max. What's your thoughts please?

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you want one machine that can do everything your 3 wands can do the Acus is still the best.
      The prime and fk one both have cheaper motors than the Packer wand but they are both good machines

      What did you end up goin with? I had to make that choice this week and went with the Acus just because I’m a lazy asshole. I was mainly looking for machines that shine in stippling/ whipshading. After seeing this video it confirms that at 4amps at such low hz this machine will definitely be a beast!

    • @VshnsAudio
      @VshnsAudio 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’m an apprentice and I went with the avenger 2 for its easy to change stroke options, but it’s a real wrist killer for a tatter tot who already has wrist strain from playing guitar. My hand shook and got fatigued but doesn’t with the cheyenne hawk. I also had a much easier time ripping steady lines with the hawk. Of course, the hawk doesn’t hit as hard so I’m on the market for something new and the acus is looking great.

  • @CHUEYINK
    @CHUEYINK ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Nova 2 is a beast, 3.5 stroke is crazy good. I line with it at 8.9v, I color pack at 8.1 in both steady and responsive 1, but responsive 1 is more for building up color. Responsive 2 put color in way too light for me but may be great for others. Black and Gray, I use steady for pure blacks, responsive mode 1 & 2 for shading. Responsive 2 is great for noses and eyes on portraits. I can imagine how bad ass the 4.5 stroke is for lining. I’ve been wanting an Acus M1 since it dropped, but it might miss me up with so many options. Your Amp calculator was a very important part of this video. Way to go man. By the way, the healing with the Nova 2 is by far the nicest and fastest healing I’ve had too date. My healing was great already but I feel like I was more aware, more cautious during the tattoo with my other machine. Nova 2, I don’t worry at all about it, the ink jumps into the skin FAST. Great video man!

      The Acus can run at 12w at m mode 2, and has more torque than the normal Neuma 5 flex, though the Flex feels like it puts in ink quicker just because the cam system. If you get the Neuma Macro Flex it does around the same amount as torque as the Acus but the flex’s motor can run twice as fast as the Acus without heating up. There is pros and cons to each motor I’ll be making a comparison video in a month or two, the macro flex is getting sent to me right now for testing

      I believe they never planned on coming out with the 4.1 and 5.0 stroke cams but people kept asking for them so the sold them separately. It would be a cool idea if when you ordered you could pick any 3 stroke lengths.
      The machine feels different then all other machines even the stroke lengths feel different compared to other machines so you have to kinda forget what you’re used to and just play around till you get something you like. • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This machine has extremely high torque compared to other tattoo machines. The machine feels soft because the cams in the machine are perfectly balanced with the rotation of the motor.
      Machines that feel like they hit harder is because there is error in the balance.
      Use M2 standard gauge not bug pins if you want very saturated blacks. I run the machine at 94 hertz. Slowing down your hand can make it saturate quicker

    The acus m1 might be on the technical forefront but all these brushless motors have no soul. They all feel to digital and artificial. You need carbon based brushed dc motors to transfer carbon ink into the skin which is also made mostly out of carbon. The bishop shader uses a brushed motor for example and that‘s why it is the most popular machine outthere, according to my local tattoo shop at least. I tried all of them including the m1 and it’s a strange electric icky feeling. As if you’re playing an electric piano and expecting it to sound like a real one.

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My m1 has a soul… it’s not a 1966 Shelby Mustang type of soul but it’s there.
      I’m pretty sure the Bishop wand is a FAULHABER Brushless Motor. And all the machines before that one is brushed.
      In fact I’m pretty sure the bishop wand and Acus M1 motor are the exact same motor with different max Torque.
      If you want a very good machine with a lot of soul check out the new Neuma 5 that thing is awesome.

    • @asceticfilms9865
      @asceticfilms9865 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks man. Bishop shader=brushed, packer=brushless, liner=brushless. All of the wired Cheyennes are brushed dc also. I guess thats the main reason why old school artists can‘t deal with these new digital machines. Me personally I need that friction. Cheers

I only use the 5mm for those very bold lines designs and when the session is dedicated only to the lines. But with the 4.1mm stroke and the motor modes I can really do any style with ease. The Acus can line very nicely but the mechanical ⚙️ aspect in the Neuma makes it line better than any other machine.
      I’m making another video on the Acus this weekend if you’re still on the fence you can check that one out. I’ll be talking a little bit about the Neuma and why I don’t got one yet in that video

    Ambitious price point for a newer company, sad day when FK and Cheyenne is a better deal

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Acus does everything in house, they got major equipment they need to pay off. Cheyenne and Fk payed off their warehouses and equipment years ago so they can keep overhead lower.
      Acus also only has 2 employees and have ran out of stock many times. Price has to exceed demand otherwise they fall behind. When they move more units and over head costs are lower I’m sure the price will come down or they would make a budget entry version.
      I’ve got other machines that cost more and are not as good. Just got to think of them as tax write offs
