Good start. I would switch those out for 4 line array passive speakers with separate power, add in a mixer into use for larger shows, build a truss system for both audio and lighting, add led lighting to your booth,
Your Setup looks good, the only things is that you should invest in moving head spot fixtures and get rid of the scanners to give it a modern look and more flexibility to use DMX Control. and get a maching sub with the RCF Speakers because every venue is different on size and shape. Other than that your setup is pretty clean
Hey man cool setup but can i reccomend changing the wash for two puk par cans wash will still be there and it will go perfectly between the scanners so u have more room for something else if need be.
This is called getting a lot out of a little by careful selection and setup. Props for this rig. Anyone can spend 10 grand and get an impressive light show. However this setup shows some talent and I like it.
A pair of subs would much improve the sound for bigger venues. The 312As are terrific speakers, but like the rest of the Art 3 line, produce very little below 70hz - so they prodiuce more of a thumpy sound that a deep/full sound. The mids and highs are nice and smooth however. I had 2 pairs of Art 310As (still have one pair) in my speaker collection and they are excellent. Your lights look greatBTW, and the setup is clean, but there seem to be some missing wires :-) Al
This feels really cluttered, as the different types of lights don't really compliment each other very well. Plus the fact that you have to cover the wash for the camera means you are blinding your audience too. That being said, I know how old this is, real proud of how far you have come since this!
Nightmare-bonnie66 in technical terms, they are not moving heads. moving heads (as the name implies) have a moving head which houses all of the features. scanners only use a mirror.
your lighting is dope but your sound system is quite week, I use at least one pair of 18's whenever I have a show but even just one 18 will make your sound system sound so much better and bring that punch
Joe - thank you for the videos. I usem and have been using a similar setup for years without any issues. However, I am always concerned about backups. Especially when running all of your music through a PC. I am a network admin by day so I am all too familiar with the issue that could happen. What is your protocol for hardware issues? Do you carry a backup system?
how have 35 people disliked it and not provided constructive criticism!?!?! I personally like the video, well put together and edited and decent equipment ;-)
You don't need that bright wash, it's really cool but takes away from the rest of the lighting. Replace it with an effect that actually compliments the setup. Now the mistake most DJ make ... YOU NEED BASS BOTTOMS. Even if you can only afford 1, it will make your system sound HUGH and you won't need to stress your full range speakers. It does make a difference. Trust me on this. The quality of the sound will be impressive.
Do you work by yourself or you normally have someone to assist you in setting up? I ask coz I'm starting my own small DJeing and I find lifting the heavy speakers a challenge :(
Sir! u hanged LASER light opposite side. head down tail up.. 😁 my question is, if we hang like this, in future that's make problems on product or not ?(coz there r motor n other machinery parts inside laser). its safe?? I have also Laser k800 by BigDipper
Bought a Fender Acoustasonic 15W Guitar Combo Amp...for the XLR connection bought an Adapter...somehow the JVC 600 ohms Mic., Shure etc. only works via the XLR and not Directly with the 1/4 inch jack? Why? Guitar works Directly and also when plugged in the XLR Adapter? Maybe, that is why they always worked in the Behringer UB1202 all the time, as I think it has a built in Mic preamp? So how does the Adaptor converts the Mic signal? An XLR male to balanced 1/4" female adapter.
The lighting is awesome! Really cool effects there. However, while the RCF art312 are fantastic, they don't fill a venue as well as they could if you had 1 or even 2 subs. I would know cos I have a pair ART 312 MKIIs, a pair ART 315 MKIIIs and a pair of mackie thump th18S subs. I get the best out of my rig when using the subs as well because it means that I do not have to waste power trying to drive bass frequencies through the RCF ARTs and instead the subs can tackle them meaning more mid high volume and more low freq volume. Also means you will have better sound quality overall if your not trying to drive everything through the RCF ARTs. I really love the lights and I now aspire to have a light rig as good as yours! GET SOME SUBS! ;)
Hi Joe,you maybe able to help me,am looking for a Show director for my trussing its the same as what you use have you any ideas where I can purchase this item??? Like your videos. Rgds Ray Dee International DJ
JFK What i meant by dealing with delay is setting the speaker distances correctly so you wouldn't be dealing with the slower response of subwoofers. By setting the distance further it effectively gets the sub to fire ahead of the main speakers and brings everything back together. this process can take long to set during gigs in different rooms, auditoriums, ETC
It's a perfect mixture of staple lighting effects, scanners, blinder, laser and beams. Not too complicated and very portable. Looks very good.
Good start. I would switch those out for 4 line array passive speakers with separate power, add in a mixer into use for larger shows, build a truss system for both audio and lighting, add led lighting to your booth,
Such a brilliant setup! You wouldn't think that with just with 8 lights you can give off such an amazing yet still professional look!

I am buying the rcf735a speakers and still will use subwoofers. I think you need at least one subwoofer to compliment your rig.
Very cool and looks great in action. The Show Director relay pack looks like a really neat solution to control and cable management.

SSSSICK BRO!!!!! NICE ASS SET UP!!!!
Light is very good! And what about the increase in the sound? Where there is a sub-woofers?
Good party where a lot of bass))
Couple things missing...
1. Moving heads
2. Facade
3. Bass speakers
The scanners are moving heads they just move differently
Nightmare-bonnie66 in technical terms, they are not moving heads. moving heads (as the name implies) have a moving head which houses all of the features. scanners only use a mirror.

your lighting is dope but your sound system is quite week, I use at least one pair of 18's whenever I have a show but even just one 18 will make your sound system sound so much better and bring that punch
Dude that is a clean setup!
i use 2 pairs of bose 802 mk2 and the have plenty of base mid and high i have 4 led and 4 halogen lights on a goalpost

+Guy's Sound and Light Very outdated now though! The only thing I still use is the truss and the sound system!
***** what about the speakers? I like QSC BTW, I'm using them for GCSE drama next week!
That's right
Soun
try bassboss speakers...twice as good as anything...but they cost...but they are worth it
nice set up mate scanners are really good. what type of camera do you use to record your videos ?
+Kyle Brawley Thanks! This video was shot with a Canon 600D with a 24-105 F4 L IS. Now I also use a Canon 70D and a Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 :)

Looks nice but you really need some scrims.
great videos what hazer/fogger do you use?
Wow looks really professional, especially with the lights out. Nice job
I never knew you owed a dots flood. your big setup looks really good :)
You should shoot some B-roll footage from the DJ booth's POV. But overall, love the setup.
i saw the first and the second parts and i havent seen any dj setup. it is all about light show !!! o.O

Wish I had a setup like this, a lot of the equipment u used is no longer available which is a shame as it’s an amazing setup, great work dude
you need at least one subwoofer .. the rcf`s are great but the won`t cut it on the lower ends.
NICE STAGE SYTEM, WHERE DID YOU GET THE STAND FOR LIGHTS ?
When is uplighting setup going to be posted?
Nice quality for these sound
Very nice love your videos always very informative thank you love to see more
Your videos are brilliant! Thank you for sharing your knowledge :-)
Pretty impressive lighting. Your PA is weak though. Most DJ's are.
Looks nice but I think it's time for you to buy a subwoofer!
Your setup is Ferry Nice but your tabel is a little bit small with your setup
I thought you would add a sub for your larger set-up .

Awesome setup, do u mind sending me a list of items used please
Were you in the movie lord of the rings? You look familiar
How long did it take you set up the whole set?
can you show what the floor would look like?

Yeah exactly they are quite large especially the ones with bigger drivers in them.
Get a 705 mk2! Amazing for the price just come out! Sounds much better for chart music

I notice you don't use moving heads...hmm
Are those scanners the same as the ADJ Dynasty Scans?
Very nice!
@ Joe Lott | JLDJUK where can I buy a Show director from Thanks.
looks really cool
ID use moving heads instead of scanners, just never been a fan of them
Yeeeah, very cool !!
Very Cool ! Brother ! Excelent !
Sub woofer?
most speakers have decent subs, and its really not needed and placement and dealing with delay would be horrid

Monitor speakers - no delays
InfiniteGaming this speaker are so big and good so there inbuild
InfiniteGaming . I agree. Must have sub for fullness.
Put a diffuser ovef the center light and no more lawsuits
How much did you spent in your lighting with truss!?
nice setup, you should add a subbass.
Subwoofer.
Lmao subbass.
scanner led
How much it cost to you all of that?
Nice lights work
What are you using to mix with? I didn't see your turntables / controller.
He mentioned it right after the speakers
Thanks for the vid tips...keep it up..Great looking gear...Thanks again
Very very nice video and instruction!
Hey can you tell me what is those gear? Especially that 4 adj?
How and where can I get those tripty winch type lifts?
Great man.
i think i missed it, but what scanners are you using?
I admire you for those mushrooms! Some "pro" DJs criticize about mushrooms. I have 2 just like you.
Looking professional as always! :)
Nice set up
How much is it currently priced?
when are you going to get a good subwoofer?
Are you using dmx software or a controller??
Rob Bichel Ok Rob
is it safe to rig a lazer probably lighter then yours on the top bit of trussing. Just that I fear it will slide and come off
It would be safer with an O-clamp but I haven't had any problems

I would swap the dots flood with inopocket spot twins
Can you send me the list of everything for lights
Can you send a list of everything?
use your bright lamp as a strobo
Love it awsome
Nice..plz sir your led name..
Can you list all the light in the discr?
Ever though of adding a subwoofer or 2 to this setup?
Yes. Only problem is transporting to gigs
***** there are some small but very powerful sub woofers out there joe :) great video and set up btw
dee jay bazz dee jay totally agreed, unless you're playing chill/rock. I always cringe when I'm at a dance music event and there's no bass
yeah alot of active speakers give good bass but with how powerful an cheap a subwoofer is there is no reason not to add one to your rig
dee jay bazz dee jay if you watched his videos you know that the lights aren't top of the line either. He offers a good "bang for the buck" I think.
Where did you get the 4 scaners from and are they still around
Angus Glassford okay that is awsome thanks
