@@VideoGamesInTheAM No they shouldn't. What's going to happen? The guy that targeted gets a pat on the back and nothing happens while the guy targeted is knocked out with possible brain injuries? Some calls shouldn't be targeting but that doesn't mean they need to take it out completely
I’d rather them have bad calls than bad non-calls. It’s college football, so they’re trying not to ruin those players’ chances of making the NFL. But I do agree that some of the calls are very nit-picky, and I hate that they affect the outcomes of games.
Yeah also those calls where the runner is almost on the ground is not fair to call targeting on bc the defender made an attempt to get below the helmet
Leotis Johnson targeting is when the defender leads with the crown, and if they do a proper tackle they don’t have to worry about it. It’s their own fault
Hayden Gosnell a lot of the calls be for helmet to helmet contact though. You’re right about them leading with the helmet but some things the defender just can’t help
Hayden Gosnell Do you not know football? Targeting can happen even if the defender does everything right. If there is helmet to helmet it’s targeting, even if the runner is the one that lowers his head
Marc Solis it was targeting my guy, he put the crown of his helmet into the side of another guys helmet but it wasn’t intentional, Shawn wade shove been in the game but it’s still targeting
It’s ridiculous. Laid on the ground until the penalty was confirmed, went to the sideline for one play and never took his helmet off, let alone, wasn’t tested for a concussion
I swear most of these targeting calls are so stupid. Most of the time the player gets blown up because either him or the quarterback makes a shitty read. It’s not the defenders fault that the receiver got blown up, the defender is just doing his job by trying to knock the ball out. And if they get blindside blocked they should’ve just kept their heads on a swivel, I have not met a coach that hasn’t told me to do that.
Some of these targeting calls are just damn awful.... A lot of them come from crossing and swing routes. If you gone say they defenseless then remove those offensive plays from the game as well
Depends on the situation. If a receiver has room to catch the ball and before he can turn his head he gets hit then the rule makes sense. It's to prevent injury.
@@BoomerKeith1 yea otherwise more people gonna end up like Ryan Shazier and paralyzed cause he compressed his spine. Of course Ryan Shazier can walk now but not every is gonna be that lucky.
The ones where the guys lower their heads to their knees when they’re about to get hit are ridiculous. That leaves basically no place to tackle, and the guys are already in the tackling motion when it happens. They should 100% add a rule about that whenever the next college football season happens to be
College has go to chill with calling every hit targeting, like some of this hit were the offensive guys fault. Like this isn't teaching the players how to hit, should be flag or 2 hand touch football since every hit is a flag.
Most of these are QB’s making terrible dump offs to their RB’s and leaving them out to dry. I’d hate playing with one these guys. I also feel bad for the QB’s who get destroyed by those blitzes that their O-Line doesn’t pick up.
These kids need to stop ducking their heads into the defenders, it dosent do anything except getting both of you hurt, there should be a penalty for ducking into an oncoming hit.
Why in the hell are they flagging these suplexes... I agree they're potentially dangerous, but what's the defender supposed to do...let him go, and hope the ballcarrier is gracious enough to allow him to use a single-leg takedown instead??
Some of the these targeting calls are bullshit. The offensive played curls up and there’s no other place but to nail em right in the head. The offensive player put himself in that situation. Most of the calls are fair like crowing another player or just a nasty uncalled for hit.
Ceedee Lamb bet not do that shit no more😂he probably won’t be returning punts now anyways but he better stop putting his head that low bf his career get cut short🤦🏽♂️
Stop all this targeting stuff. And bring back clotheslining and facemasking and crackback blocks and make this a real game again. Who cares about CTE, broken collar bones and spinal damage, anyway?
College ball has become so soft with the Targeting Calls some of them are intentionally and some you can't do nothing about but just hit the guy c'mon now ruining the sport
Gotta hate how at 1:53 Ceedee lowers his head and the defense gets a helmet to helmet penalty that would've been a hit at the legs
Yup absolutely nothing a defender can do to control that. Honestly a really bad move by CeeDee, he could've been seriously injured there.
Alex L but h got 15 yards. Players that pull shit like that bother me so much. Taking advantage of a rule in place to protect them 🤦♂️
If you watched the game you would know they overturned the penalty because of that
i think they do it to protect knees
Well, they overturned the penalty so it didn't matter.
They gotta chill on some of these targeting calls
They need to get rid of targeting
@@VideoGamesInTheAM No they shouldn't. What's going to happen? The guy that targeted gets a pat on the back and nothing happens while the guy targeted is knocked out with possible brain injuries? Some calls shouldn't be targeting but that doesn't mean they need to take it out completely
Coach Nosebutter targets is hitting a defenseless player to the head or neck area

How ironic 😂💀
Nice
2:17 even the Buckeyes mascot knew that was a wild hit lmao
Brutus is easily the best and funniest mascot, I’m an OSU fan but still.
The last 2 hits were not targeting. They need to relax with these flags smfh.
The hit at 7:55 was literally impossible for him to do anything else
How so?
@@doritos5447 because the runner literally ducked his head into the hit after the defender had already begun to dive at him.
It's close. What got the targeting call was that he lowered his head and launched himself.
Sean Wade’s hit still wasn’t targeting
Marc Solis need a tissue?
Yeah putting the crown of ur helmet into another guys helmet totally isn’t targeting. Stay salty
Lil Inferno It was targeting but it clearly wasn’t intentional. Stupid auto ejection rule
Don’t Fire Jim Harbaugh all I know is Wade was preparing to tackle Lawrence and he ducked his head into Wade’s.
Marc Solis it was targeting my guy, he put the crown of his helmet into the side of another guys helmet but it wasn’t intentional, Shawn wade shove been in the game but it’s still targeting
The ref took the biggest hit at 12:24 lol
Big Tens got some nice hits
@Bobby Johnson heck naww
Bobby Johnson Michigan was doing good against Alabama too until the late third
2:40 and here we see trevor trying out for the school play. S tier acting

10:30 that is probably the worst commentary duo you can have

Villanova vs Southeastern 1st round playoff had a big hit. The full game is on Wally channel and it occurs at 2:14:48 on that video.

4:00 targeting?
Alabama didn't have one single good hit that went our way?
There was the Mack Wilson hit.
