The concession stand is closed rank-and-file can no longer carry yellow, I work at yellow ,15 years of give backs, and we need to be made whole, no no pensions and no raises to keep up with the cost of living ,being forced 2 hours every day , substandard equipment to work with and poor management who have no regard for the working force, I would rather see it go down then to let a nother bonus go to management after contracts are signed, make our pensions hole from day one, and get are wages up to Industry normal, and get rid of Mr.Hawkins because he is dragging this company down the drain, just like his predecessors

Every YRC truck I pass on a nightly basis has a ton of amber warning lights showing on their dash. There have been a few trucks with those red lights showing as well. When maintenance is being ignored, it's a sign the company is in deep trouble. Yellow has been in the crapper for decades.

If the vast majority of you own your own trucks then you could band together and you guys would have all the power and they would have to pay you fairly or you would all be independent. Since the vast majority of you don't own your own trucks they got you over a barrel and they know it. I feel so bad for you guys cuz you guys make everything work in business and in the economy how many goods and services would be impossible without you guys doing what you do? I guess the best suggestion I could have for each and everyone of you is to get your own truck and go independent as soon as feasibly possible. No matter how hard that might be it can't possibly be as bad as being screwed over by these Bad Company's.

    • @bronnblackwater6345
      @bronnblackwater6345 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Let's say the company you work for is only paying you 65% of what you're worth. Let's say if you had your own truck and went independent you could get 100% of what you're worth but only got 65% of the work? Well my friends do the math, that works out that the same amount of money. If I were a trucker I guess I would do whatever it takes to own my own truck and to drive for myself. Yes there would be hardships but it sounds like you're having hardships anyway. And on the success side of things if your company successful you aren't seeing any of that. But, if you're successful independently you'll see ALL of it!

Just look at the energy industry, the feds are working on completely shutting down and capping off all oil wells in our country!!, taking away all trucking, of course batteries on a big rig won't work!, eliminating all carbon dioxide from the air, forcing everyone into 15 minute cities !!!, and of course the teamsters union is in on this as well!!, just look at all the dues you guys pay every paycheck!!, and they haven't given you guys anything back!, they just keep taking. Also they are putting the independent truckers out of business, and in California, your truck has to be brand new and electric!!, no hydrogen power, no propane, nothing, electric or you can't cross into California! Now, today, on independence day of all days, the feds are going to start issuing universal basic income of $2000.00 dollars a month between now and continuing into 2024, all we can do now is to pray to God to derail this whole communist democrats takeover mess at least for a while as we prepare for the rapture and the return of Jesus Christ, please read John 3: 16 and call on the Lord to forgive us for our sins and believe in Jesus who was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and accept Him as Lord and Savior! Heres my thing tho; If youve got a problem with the company you work for, let management know. If management doesnt act (or they drag their feet), i'd quit and look for employment elsewhere. That’s not sound advice. This is coming from someone who decided to leave companies who mistreated me. I quickly found they’re all shit. They all treat you like crap. They will replace you the very next day. The union is right. The only way to improve work is to have the workforce fight for fair pay and fair work conditions. I started in a union when I was young and yes it had its problems. I had that itch to see what else was out there. Busted my ass. Gave up my best years to gain a social life. Lost my holidays with family etc to work that extra shift and show what a worthwhile employee I was to hopefully move into a position that would mess up my body at a young age. What I got from trying to set my self apart by being a top performer and loyal employee was harassment. What I got was an even larger workload. What I got was a tiny bump in pay but it didn’t match the extra productivity I was given. And the minute I dare speak up to try to improve things to make the workplace more tolerable. It’s the minute that ALL of management comes down on you. To bully you to demote you. To embarrass you in front of everyone. That’s what fucking happens when you leave a bad job. You get an even worse job that might increase your pay that gets swallowed up by inflation. Oh and of course, say good bye to the amount of pto you can earn because you’re a new employee. You’re not vested so you don’t get as much in other benefits as well. Yes I’m rejoining a union, problems and all. I want a pension, I want a better work life balance, yes I wanna negotiate for a fair wage and job security. Those are things you rarely if ever get doing it all on your own. And that’s if you’re a top performer lol.

I don’t understand what’s going on with management at Yellow. After these videos came out I went and found Yellow’s conference call in the 4th quarter of 2022 to shareholders and investors and that call paints a completely different picture then today. With the information they put out it seems things aren’t that bad at that time as painted by the Managment Team. So in the space of 6 months things are going down the shit hole-?. Things are not adding up in the space of 6 months. You should go online and look up all the previous conferences calls you can find and take a hard look at them. I’m getting bad vibes about the hole situation. Since they are a publicly traded company they are required by the sec to be truthful in reporting corporate financial data. So I don’t know what as been said in any or if any conferences calls since the 4th quarter of last year. I looked at their 20 year history and 03 to 05 where there best years in that 20 year window. Then they started a downward trend then around 08 they really slid and basically flatlined ever since. They are on the NASDAQ exchange which governs their reporting requirements.

But at the samr time I am afaid that yellow would sue me even after we parted ways. I want to talk about lost freight, under staffing, over worked drivers, drivers that not only loaded there truck every morning, but ran a route and came back and worked the docks until main line came in to pick up the trailers to take back to Omaha. I much i made on bonuses and how much each driver made. broken truck and trailer that took an act of god from corp to get back on the road. Not enough trailers in our yards. and it goes on and on. I work for Holland (Yellow). One year ago our TM met with us to inform us about the 'One Yellow' rollout for Mid west and eastern divisions after its "glorious success" in the west. He informed us that corporate had already paid nearly half of the 700m government loan. (Lies). He also layed the ground work mentioning the 2024 contract and how important the change was for us to get a better contract. (doesnt this sound like prep work for the current situation?) The sticking point for the change of operations has been the "utility driver" role. Every company has them, short leg line haul, work the dock to load your return. There isnt any language for this in the existing YRCW NMFA, however we had been doing it at Holland for years under a Velocity supplement agreement. These drivers made a lilttle more and worked relayed freight at terminals. I cannot speak for YRC but I dont think they had any driver doing this because of the job classifications at YRC terminals. Under contract rules you cant jump on the dock from the driver seat because there are dock guys to work the freight. Another important thing to point out, I've heard of and seen alot of reports of loaded trailers sitting on yards in our network and linehaul drivers not being called in for those loads for days. Also the number of missed pick ups in the city is insane as the force city drivers to remain on the dock. Im not sure what is gonna happen here but I'll ride this turd to the bottom of the bowl.

That is MAJOR RED FLAG for any business in this crazy screwed up world we all live in. Drivers are frustrated with lack of concern or all the sacrifices they have given to try to make YELLOW a good company to work at. Mr Hawkins is failing miserably to his employees on providing a good paying job that we as Americans are proud to support. Family men and women that devote their time as well as sacrifice family life have been spat upon by the leadership. Mr Hawkins should be more respectful and supportive to his employees if he would LISTEN to them and make good what is due them. Unfortunately it appears that GREED is their main objective. Mr Hawkins needs to spend a month in a truck like any other driver and be subject to all the regulations and mismanagement done by both the Federal Government and the company. Get a taste of the real life instead of hiding behind a desk with your other minions ignoring the hands that feed you.

The management Mafia Boss applying pressure tactics to the drivers.
( been there-done that) many years ago as a company driver.
Every time a contract renewal came-up, management would put pressure and try to brain wash the drivers into why their management offer was "The best". Don't ask for more, just vote it in and shut-up.
This video brings back some very old memories.
Our company back then sold out to a bigger player who liquidated everything and everyone. We had a job on Friday, and by Monday we were laid off, including management.
The new company just wanted the infraestructure ( The distribution terminals ) and some 200 drivers out of about 450.
We all received very generous liquidation packages, including all accumulated and unused sick days, three months forward paid salary ( 12 weeks @ 40 Hrs ), our paid vacations for those who had been with the company over 5 years ( 3 weeks @ 40 Hrs) minus used vacations or personal vacation days, COBRA health insurance extension for up-to 6 months with company contribution rates for 90 days mandatory at time of termination. If we wanted, all of our stock options in our 401k rolled over to another employer plan within 90 days, or cashed-out minus 35% taxes.
It was the best thing that ever happened to many of us back then, when the unions used to be strong.
In all, that's the importance of working under a labor contract. Under a contract, companies cannot just "Throw you away" into the garbage can, and liquidate you when they feel like it, because there is a legal process to follow ( The labor contract ) with the 90 day unemployment paid clauses.
In today's labor environment, this kind of language is " Alien" from another planet, and the new younger generation even criticize it, out of complete ignorance.
However, back then in such cases management had to account and allocate funds they could not touch for each driver ( 450+ ).
Back then we as drivers where protected by the labor contract, in the event of a sudden loss of employment, although not so, for the entire Suck-Arse management team that was eliminated.
Fast forward to today, and the managers at YRC can clearly see the writing in the wall.
Once they apply for management positions in other companies, and disclose where they come from, most likely nobody will hire them for a while ( Years ).
It happened to management back then in the era of beepers, and it will happen today again, more so because of social media.
The "Cushi-Paychecks" and bonuses sharing pictures on F-Book in the air conditioner, will stop flowing for management at YRC.
Once they leave, no company will want to hire these managers and supervisors, coming from a sinking ship ( Overpaid and inefficient ) who bankrupted a 100 yr old company.
Future employers know that this management has a bad & toxic culture.
Remember, this is not YRC being sold.
Instead, this is YRC going down after years of bad management and bail outs.
Just look at the guy in the video.
Would any company other than YRC, put this guy in charge of an entire trucking terminal ?
In today's enslaving environment probably yes, but not 30+ years ago.
He is way to toxic and combative, He's a company's dream hatchet man 🪓 !

Very tough spot. The company is keeping them with a dangling carrot of what they were promised for their loyalty back in 08. Really hard to leave with the thought of in a few months the other drivers finally get it.
Especially when you dont know if the recruiters at the other jobs you're looking at are telling you the truth about their offers either.
In trucking it seems best to only stick to word of mouth of other truckers you trust. Referrals and placement in the exact accounts of person that referred you.
Best of luck to these driverw

As a loader for a garbage company… which being a garbage man is on the top 10 most dangerous jobs in America by the way. Anyways as a loader wanting to aim for there CDL its really difficult to want that license when the company cannot take care of me as a loader… sure i own a few vehicles but i do not get paid enough to own a home let alone a apartment… as dangerous as my job is you think they would at least compensate me enough so i can have my own pad… however instead they wave a pay increase over my head saying if you get your CDL we will pay you enough so you can own your own home with the cars you have… its like please really i risk my life everyday playing frogger with myself to service our customers with my driver and you won’t compensate me enough so i can own my own home after three years of dedication to the company and sticking around for two buy outs… how do I really know if or when i get my CDL if my company will actually take care of me of they can’t take care of me as a loader… bro I really don’t know if i want to get my CDL because I really don’t know if i will actually be taken care of period it feels like a gamble it feels like i have to bow down to the whim of the company just to get what i need and want when it should not be that way. Thats just my two cents on everything my job is dangerous i been on time doing my thing for three years I hardly call off or anything cept when I take time off for vacation the least they could do is actually pay me and make me feel valued so i can actually feel like getting my CDL will be worth it.
Basically what it amounts to if you can take care of me where i am at why the hell would I want to climb up your damn ladder.
