    Great video. I had a friend who ended up breaking this pickpocketer's index finger when pickpocketer tried to steal. Just broke his finger and both of us ran. The guy was screaming so loud. Although we had no reason to run, we didnt want to deal with police work where my friend can still get charged with an assault. Speaking of pickpocketing, it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. This was over a decade ago. Our situation happened in Santa Monica Pier when we were walking out of the pier to Colorado Blvd and Ocean Avenue. Still remember it till this day. LOL.

    The musicians performing in your video had a license to perform, as well as the ones who perform in the metro stations (there's a plaque where it says AMUC) but it's illegal to perform in the metro cars and those people are usually gypsies. Also the sellers who have items on a blanket are called manteleros and they are illegally selling items. You could get charged a fine of like 50 euros for buying from them.

    I spent about 5 weeks in Barcelona from 12/91 - 1/92. I had a nice stay there. I hung out with other travelers. There wasn't so much people going there yet, and all those tourist places had no lines for getting in, the way they have now.

    When I was in Barcelona, there were signs at the road to the beach telling you not to buy from people who sells you things from mats on the ground or you will get fined. There were about 50 street vendors that had mats on the ground with items for sale right behind this sign, and there were so many people ignoring the warning that was right next to them and bought hats and other things. Not only was I baffled how this would happen right next to a warning not to buy from them (and also that the buyer could be fined), I also liked how the sign specifically said "mats" and all of the street vendors rolled out mats on the ground. Not a single one had a table. If I were a street vendor there, I would bring a table and say "the sign says mats, this is a table so it's not illegal.

    The agents in the airports in Spain will catch you smuggling drugs, but the cops in the beat are laughable, they should have plain clothes officers acting like tourist and stick item on them with backup officers watching and catching these thieves.

      Lol just be aware is the lesson

    • @ayf449
      @ayf449 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say that's more of an invitation to get beat up for the phone really. Because they'll know it is there, a bulky thing in skin tight cloths it'll be either getting it the easy way or the hard way ☕

    • @Basauri48970
      @Basauri48970 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ayf449 Hardly. They know everybody and their grandmother carries a phone these days; they don't need to see its shape to know it's there. However very few pickpockets would beat someone up to get it when they can inconspicuously steal it from someone else's pocket.
      Thankfully, robbery with violence is a much more rare affair in Spain than pickpocketing. These guys are well organised and know well the law in the countries they operate in. They're fully aware that in Spain pickpocketing only carries a fine when found out, whilst robbery with violence it's punished more severily as it's a much more serious crime.

    Just back from Barcelona and got to say i found the people very unfriendly. Also bought 4 drinks at one of the stalls in la rambla, they tried charging 90 euro? After a huge argument i eventually threw a 50 euro note at them and walked away. Will never go back to anywhere in Spain, they are not nice people in my experience.

    I had some beef with a balloon artist. He make some generic balloon animal or a sword, and give it to our kids, and demand money. Now I only had like 50 cent on me, and gave that. He got mad and demanded more. I told him that's all I got on me. He then pointed in a direction of an ATM. I got mad, took the balloon from my kids (compensated after) and shoved it in his face and told him to "f" off. Same thing happened with a bubble guy, he got reaaaally angry when I only had small change for him. These people are scum.
