Whiz said it many times over that training is not just brute force fighting, it is also expanding and understanding your own body and mind. This is how he is able to achieve such a feat. Gohan has spent time getting his techniques back and he had the peaceful mind and knowledge over the years from not training so when the need came for to save the planet and his friends and family he was able to tap into that power and control it. Gohan is supposed to be a character who can shake off his rust and get back into fighting form insanely fast, because of his hybrid biology. Goku isn't omnipresent heck the whole theme of the Buu saga is about this, that's why Gohan was ready to step up to protect his home. I dont know. I feel like Beast Gohan is likea "super saiyan" version of Gohan with his Potential Unleashed. Take Piccolo for example, when Piccolo got his Potential Unleashed, after that he got Orange Piccolo, so to speak like a transformation above Potential Unleashed. So, I think of Beast & Orange Piccolo as the Super Saiyan 2's of Potential Unleashed.

Think about it this way, ultimate gohan is the base for beast, beast came about because all gohan needed was that little emotional push to unlock the form
Frieza if given time and actual training is a monster. Gohan... As much as I always was a fan of him, Beast makes no sense even with the using his emotions as a catalyst like SSJ2
I mean, it also relives Akira Toriyamas desire to make him the strongest. Having the human side of him kick in with Pans abduction can be a considerable amount of adrenaline to amp up that subconscious power that was always talked about. Its not too crazy when you think Goku gets that plot armor boost as well, imo Gohan always been my favorite and his increase has been delayed long enough.
Golden Frieza was the biggest plot convenience jump ever. A few months of training and he happens to hit around the level that Goku and Vegeta were currently at? A level beyond what anyone in Z could dream of? Yeah, right! Frieza was brought back because he was popular, and it's easier to bring back an iconic villain than write a new one.
@@dexter111344 I think people who say Gohan doesn't train just watch DBS, and don't read the manga, because if I recall, there's no mention of him picking his training back up since Resurrection F, nor do we see him training, and before the tournament of power (I'd guess it's just anime filler) Gohan explicitly need Piccolo's help to whip him back into shape, with issues like barely even being able to go SSJ2 or Ultimate anymore, which is... Stupid.
For all the shit frieza took from ToP and DBS broly it made sense that he finally had enough and trained for 10 years straight, now we're seeing the results of when a villain gets access to the shit the main cast had
The thing is, gohan is a little different . He had his full potential unlocked by Guru, and then his power was further increased by elder kai . I see Beast gohan as super sayian mixed with mystic gohan .
Yall dont know how over powered gohan is, u gotta remember android saga it only took him a couple months to go from namek saga to cell level. Months. Now he has his potential unlocked. Hes just pushin out his power much easier. His potential is so high. Its crazy tbh
Well it's hardly any surprise now broly, gohan and frieza are shown to have insane levels of potential and adaptability and to make them relevant again in the era of gods they need to be given this quick power ups. All 3 of them are basically mutants of their race with insane potential while it does undermine all the hardwork and training goku and vegeta put to slowly build their strength. Its not very surprising considering how these characters were introduced to us.
I mean even during the super arcs they always mentioned gohan still being able to go further and always talking about his strength as a kid.. and once he got bitch slapped by frieza he realized he cant be comfortable with running or waiting for daddy to get there... It may be a plot convenience but i will say this was talked about more than mui maybe not in name but in power
Beast gohan makes somewhat sense as he unlocked his unlocked potential first by elder namekian and next with elder kai then trained and got emotionally pushed to the point his true unlocked power could be accessed As saiyans are known to achieve many achievements in power when under dire emotional stress or any emotional stress
Part of why Gohan gets power boosts without (much) training is because of the radical potential Toriyama (RIP) always talked about. If Gohan trained regularly, he'd be strongest, and would make other characters irrelevant.
Freiza training for a few months and surpassing super saiyan blue(they had to wear him out to win) was bullshit, but him training in another time chamber for 10 YEARS is insane and definitely makes black justified to be so strong after we saw the bs leaps he could gain in only a few months.
The power jump was wild for Gohan, he trains on and off not regularly. Frezia was born at the full power he displayed on namek and never trained, he would have received substantial results training for the first time then training for 10 years in very harsh conditions would just make up leaps and bounds stronger. Gohan shouldn't be compared to frezia or broly they are just on another level.
No, because Beast can be linked to his ki/mind, which he unintentionally trains in his bookworm habits if you think about it, but, I do kinda agree with him
But it was stated by Goku that Gohan can easily can keep up with the other despite being a kid (Said in Cell saga) meaning that its not difficult for Gohan to get a lot stronger with less training.
To be faiiirrrr. It's also been said many times throughout the series that gohans potential is pretty vast. Goku even acknowledged that gohan could be stronger than he is.
@@ryanchetty8336, it took 4 months for Golden Frieza(newbie gains) and 10 years for Black Frieza(normal growth). Gohan's growth didn't stagnate like that, with light training after his research and studies he was able to shoot past everyone. Frieza has incredible growth yes, but compared to Gohan and Broly who didn't train as much in comparison Frieza has show that he simply started 10 steps ahead of everyone else rather than jumping 3 steps at a time.
Frieza got crazy potential and went in a time chamber for 10 yrs(time chamber time) but with how gohan got beast shit they might as well make a goten movie if they just giving out forms for free
My problem with Beast more than anything else is that the whole thing feels like "What if we did SSJ2 Gohan again?" It just feels like uninspired nostalgia bait
Its stypid how frieza trains for 4 months after being resurrected (he wasnt at the level of a super sayian) and then becomes equal if not a bit stonger than ssb
Gohan is the prime example of oh shit we forgot about this guy Freiza makes sense why he’s so strong and when he trains his growth and the leaps of his growth make sense
Gohan also had his hidden potential unlocked twice, the last time it gave him the ability to be ssj2 in base form so going by that his power ups would be way different than a regular sayian
gohan trained less than you think, he got ki awakened in namek, got ultimate by sitting still after YEARS without training and immediately became strongest in the universe (not counting gods) and beast did the same (especially when you consider the entire movie is HIS DAUGHTER being “kidnapped” and “threatened”) pretty consistent freeza also just makes sense
Remember that Saiyans capability and possible potentia is based on their power level measurment since they were very young. Goku was a low level Saiyan that became very strong because of training and triggers. Gohan had a strength of an adult Saiyan(Raditz) since he was 4. Stronger than Goku and Picollo combined. That is why when trained, he was the first Saiyan to reach SSJ2. Which Goku, Vegeta and Trunks had failed to do earlier. My point is, with the right trigger and catalyst, its possible that Gohan will surpass both Goku and Vegeta.
People I think don’t acknowledge what beast is. It’s an evolution of a form that allows the user to access any latent potential they have, gohan has now been around so many people with godly levels of power and fought with them or beside them. I also think that the power he gets from rage aren’t as potent in his ultimate form. The potential he had in his ultimate form had hit a wall since his potential is tied to his anger in a lot of ways at least in terms of brute strength and overall speed. this forced his form to evolve and if ultimate was able to match up to ssb than its not a stretch in anyways to think that it’s evolution would be close to UI
Beast is from long time on and off training plus half sayians being more powerful it kinda makes sense. We also haven’t seen him hold that form for a long time
My only gripe w black frieza is how they just keep bringing frieza back. Like let him die or turn him into an orochimaru type character. It’s crazy to think we have 12 whole universes and they still want tell frieza stories. Him being more powerful that mui goku and ue vegeta isn’t unbelievable because he had already achieved a god form that could compete w ssb. Beast gohan is a completely different story though. Like you said he somehow managed to close the ridiculously huge gap between him and his father, a gap that was multiple transformations wide, with only 1 transformation. A transformation that doesn’t even use god ki and was attained from on and off training and a rage boost. I don’t understand the creative heads at dragonball because they have all any IP would ever need to tell an amazing story-like they have before, but it’s like they just haphazardly decide things should just happen without considering the implications of those things or by just being lazy to actually go in directions that would make the story interesting. Like why tf did beast gohan even need to be so strong. There are 12 universes and prebeast gohan was already universal. Transformations are cool everybody loves them but this is just power cliffing for the sake of power cliffing, and it’s clear all throughout superhero. Why were the gammas so strong, how was cell max a beyond jiren level opponent. They’re so focused on making every characters number bigger than ever before that it’s distracting them from telling engaging stories without juicing tf out of their characters for “suspense”
Both are convenient. The writers found it convenient to give them these power increases. I'd argue that Goku gaining Ultra Instinct in any form during his battle with Jiren is a plot device that would show another power level Goku could obtain...which isn't a bad plot device. Similar to Gohan...Freeza....Vegeta gaining Super Saiyan...Goku becoming Super Saiyan....etc, etc...
My head canon is that Gohan Beast is just on the level of MUI in terms of just sheer strength and power, and not in the reflex, subtlety and calmness associated with MUI. Maybe he can take good damage and go for a good spar, but no way he can defeat MUI. MUI will wear him down eventually.
I see it like this gohan is half human and half syain from the beginning gohan emotional state changes his potential like how goku see krillen gets killed by freeza when he mentally snaps he is at his peak when goku dies and cell comes back gohan snaps.
The difference is that frieza is a mutant with insane potential. Gohan is a hybrid saiyan who for some reason can get as strong as goku after light training. I would be fine with this if it wasn’t for one simple thing: goten and trunks. Their potential can arguably be higher than gohans bc of their feats, like transforming into SSJ with little to no effort and even reaching ssj3 as gotenks.
None of this would be an issue if they made Gohan a Bruce Banner/Hulk lik3 character with his powers. He can be the strongest most unstoppable monster whenever his emotions are too intense.

Basically during every major arc of Super in general they kept teasing Goku and Vegeta reaching his level only for the next arc to say "lol no Beerus is still way stronger" he'll with how Whis and Beerus were scaled by Toriyama himself when BotG came out, Blue alone should have already rivaled him but it the power creep kept going.

Well
10 years of training in a time chamber is a fair explanation for frieza
not really you have to think about goku and vegeta's training with literal angel whis(strongest at that). This is random bulsh*t no jutsu.
@@nilo1178 would be if it was not friza
Remember some characters have more potencial than others
Goku and vegeta had to training for years to surpass ssj2 gohan and still could only do it with ssj2 forms
Freiza legit had more potential than gohan, only broly and maybe jiren had more potential than frieza, freiza at birth was stronger than goku namek arc kaioken times twenty, his father believed that if freiza trained he would surpass majin buu and eventually have the capability of surpassing beerus, gohans potential was rage sure, but potential unleashed was the entirety of his potential plus extra added on from the ritual, he most likely got god ki though unconfined for the fact he hit ssblue which 1000+ times stronger than majin buu when gohan was barely stronger than buu, the god ki would allow gohan to catch blue, if gohan gained a new form it should have been in Moro arc for the fact he was training consistently and seriously for two years straight, this form should have been the level of ui omen goku at top, he didn’t get this form then however, then stopped training consistently losing ultimate, he had to fight gammas to regain the form, the fact that he lost the form and was so much weaker should have prevented beast from happening and definitely should have been far weaker than mui and weaker than lssj broly, should have been on the level of ui omen goku at top for maximum power with the potential for the form to reach mui heights
Gohan could've went into the time chamber with Orange piccolo to boost his power after getting his ass handed to him.
After the super hero which i actually love and it make sense
Frieza deserves a new form for the work he put in. Gohan isn’t even a fighter but the writers were like “how do we make some quick money today?”
He trained in secret hence him mastering the special beam cannon. He’s a protector he fights when necessary
That's all super is about because none of it is any good or makes any sense
@@acedubbthats why he couldnt even transform into his mystic form without piccolo pretending to threaten his daughter. Dude wasnt training he just gets random boost for nothing which is fine but its odd they are putting him over goku who has mastered ultra instinct when no other gods of destruction have even mastered it yet now all of a sudden gohan can destroy beerus? The more reasonable choice would be to put him just below goku but instead theyre saying hes stronger than black frieza
@@skuzzlebutt9745 I don’t know about all that, but his forms always been driven by rage. And say what you want but he literally states in the movie that he’s been training in secret (hence his variation of special beam cannon, unless you’re just calling him and akria a liar) akira also said it himself that as of the current meta he’s the strongest which isn’t really surprising either if you look at Gohan’s history of his rage boosts. Goku state’s multiple times how “his power just skyrocketed” way past his. Hell when vegeta was mad at beerus for smacking bulma all you dbz fans were on his nuts. “Vegeta was stronger than ssj3 goku” so I don’t think it’s as far fetched as it may seems. I just think y’all like to hate and once it’s reached popularity people love to join the in crowd and hate on it too. Idk who said he was stronger than lord beerus unless you were exaggerating, but I’d put him just above goku and vegeta and minimal even with black frieza 🤷♂️
@@acedubb I can buy him learning the Special Beam Cannon like that. But not just getting Beast out of the blue. They really shouldn't have crammed Gohan into the movie.
I firmly believe gohan can be in a coma for 10 years
Wakes up and sees pan have a paper cut and be on zenos level with all the bullshit that comes from him
Oddly, this a hilarious comment 😂
Y’all know there’s like two arcs before this movie and gohan stated he uses the gravity room off screen just in case
I always saw the power jump to Beast Gohan as kind of the final "Gohan bodies the enemy because he's pissed" moment. We've seen Gohan easily handle enemies way stronger than him for a short amount of time when he gets mad a bunch of times in Z. Beast is just him being able to sustain and focus that intense power boost from his anger
Yeah but you forget about the years Gohan put into studying the insects and how they utilized something of a transformation. And what else he was discovering which is how he learned to tap into and be able to harness that power. Normally that power would come in flashes due to rage. Now it is a necessity and he is smart enough to understand and put that power into a form.
blud studying insects wont help in a fight
Gohan, broly, and frieza are prodigies. We all have that friend that aces classes without studying
Db fans don t read, i swear a lot of people thought this was just after the ToP, there s so much that happened it make sens gohan needed a power up
He always had the power. Throughout all the series they make a massive point about him not fulfilling his potential and that he had more power than anyone else. He finally just unleashed it
Hes way over everyone else now😂😂

people not understanding that GOHAN HAS HIS FULL POTENTIAL UNLOCKED and is naturally gifted due to his status as a hybrid saiyan, gohan is capable of progressing at leaps and bounds beyond the likes of even goku and vegeta.
Thank you. Why does no one acknowledge this concept. He was already overpowered before he became a fighter. The fact that he can tap into that potential on top of his formal training basically makes him a sayian version of Frieza. Add the concept of Zen Kai boost and he is (Potentially) unstoppable.
Which is stupid as hell
Exactly Gohan do not have to do too much training to keep up his power level a Vegeta been stating that since he was a child let's say Gohan stop training for 5 or 6 years straight he could gain that power lv back or even stronger in two days of training
Yeah so fk story correct.

At least frieza put in the pain. They especially turned gohan into supreme overlord kinggambit. The problem isn’t “how hard does gohan get his ass beat” but how many in front of him 💀
Great analogy,😂
I'm kinda fine with Beast purely because it finally gets him past how awkwardly Ultimate works. I never liked how it superseded his other forms instead of augmenting them and Beast at least gives him an actual form over that; I see it as a part of a new transformation route which suits him.
Gohan deserve this need no training because he's been slept on since the beginning and after cell saga he was been supposed to be a beast we need to see beast form 3 if we want to blame Gohan's down for him we got to blame Goten
@@waynethomas6527
That goes against the moral of DB bro. If the movie had shown him shaking of a whole decade of neglect and wasted potential, shown him shake off the rust and rediscover his battlelust no one would have complained about beast, reward the effort you put into pushing past your limit to truly deserve what you get. It's a form that needed at least some more setup to have an actually good payoff. The form itself I've got nothing against it's a good form.
@@zebaguettefromfrance1287but it doesn’t go against DB at all. What you’re describing would go against Gohans entire character.
Gohan is a scholar first and a fighter second. He doesn’t fight because it’s fun like his dad, he doesn’t fight for pride like Vegeta, he fights when there is no other option. Gohans story is supposed to be a tragedy. He’s a kid with some anger issues, who is forced to fight when all the other grown adults around him can’t stop the villain.
Superhero just ups the ante. Gohan is supposed to be a character who can shake off his rust and get back into fighting form insanely fast, because of his hybrid biology. The show has literally shown us this from day 1, yet yall are still surprised.
Gohan is that guy you know who goes to the gym twice a year, and still has a perfect physique. At the end of the day, it’s all genetics.
@@chrishansen8119Nah but that's the thing in the Buu saga his character clearly changes to something more of a hero who knows he has to protect his people. That's why he trains. Gohan isn't a kid anymore, we're not saying he has to like fighting, but this entire movie is the scenario we're talking about... Goku isn't omnipresent heck the whole theme of the Buu saga is about this, that's why Gohan was ready to step up to protect his home. And this development was made to continue or come full circle in the TOP.
That's why him barely needing too or not even bothering to train bothers the lot of us, because he's had this whole character arc multiple times and yet he still doesn't. I'm not saying Gohan doesn't deserve the form as a character, I'm saying they could have changed the story so he actually was seen working for this new power
@@moonflower595 I disagree to an extent. Yes, we saw that when Gohan just wanted to go around and have fun and help people, he adopted a more heroic persona, but that’s such a small part of the story, when he was 16.
I would argue that the Buu arc gives Gohan the same treatment as always. An angry kid with massive potential who might be the only being capable of stopping a world destroyer, forced to fight.
LET HIM HAVE IT CHI CHI CANT COMPLAIN 😂😂😂😂
His potential grows as he gets older I guess🤷🏾♂️
Broly laughing in the corner:
People seem to forget the decades of hinting at this in every single arc
Plot convenience. Gohan struggled with his weighted clothes. And he used Ssj when he fought the Androids and sparred with Trunks and Goten.
Gohan wasnt training he just got his power
I think Gohan performs best when he's trained well but also taps into his rage to boost his power level. Rage alone is not enough though.
That broly beat down had him training 💀
Short Answer:
Gohan: Asspull
Frieza: Justified
Ox King's bloodline finally goes hard and people complain. Smh
Frieza trained with his dad as a child this is in the anime
So Gohan having his potential unlocked twice doesn't matter to anyone? That's a huge reason he can reach new power limits so easily
His full potential was unlocked and expanded upon by supreme Kai… by that logic he should be majin buu level no stronger
@@ryanchetty8336 i think by having his potential unlocked twice then it shouldn't be a surprise when he reaches a new level out of nowhere. His limitation has always been his mindset and training or better said lack of. Sometimes taking a break and coming back can also cause a person to have a breakthrough.
@@ryanchetty8336that makes no sense
@@Scratch2CI get that but being on par with UI and Ego seems a lil too much to me especially see how much Gohan needs to train to keep up his insane potential. take resurrection F where he completely stopped training then he realized later on in super that he needs to consistently train and train harder so that doesn't happen again

Broly in the corner laughing 😂
Remember when Gohan jumped from SaiyanSaga Goku level to 1st Form Freeza level because he got angy
Think about it this way, ultimate gohan is the base for beast, beast came about because all gohan needed was that little emotional push to unlock the form
Yea moderately training for like 6 years>training for a few months
Frieza if given time and actual training is a monster.
Gohan... As much as I always was a fan of him, Beast makes no sense even with the using his emotions as a catalyst like SSJ2
Remember when He Said He wants to combine ssj and His ultimate Form.

People hated when Akira tried making gohan the MC. Shows how much meat riding the fans do on goku
My only theory about this is that when hybrid saiyan grows, the more potential they get, idk.
Frieza trained for 10 years on a planet with slowed down time like the time chamber
Gohan has never stopped training since after resurrection of F
These people would know that if they could actually read.
Stupid.
Gohan has always been weirdly powerful when it comes to his emotions.
Gohan showed how strong he could be at the age of 4 without any training
To be fair freeza trained for his form
Gohan’s transformation is because he’s a half breed human/saiyan.. which makes his saiyan abilities stronger
For all the shit frieza took from ToP and DBS broly it made sense that he finally had enough and trained for 10 years straight, now we're seeing the results of when a villain gets access to the shit the main cast had
Frieza never training is still a retcon, he offhandedly mentioned never having to dust himself off before since training with King Cold.
Freida is the literal offspring of a god….
Sure Gohan needed training but its also true that he was just a kid at the time.
Friza belike when he trained 10 years
Beast gohan makes somewhat sense as he unlocked his unlocked potential first by elder namekian and next with elder kai then trained and got emotionally pushed to the point his true unlocked power could be accessed
As saiyans are known to achieve many achievements in power when under dire emotional stress or any emotional stress
Part of why Gohan gets power boosts without (much) training is because of the radical potential Toriyama (RIP) always talked about. If Gohan trained regularly, he'd be strongest, and would make other characters irrelevant.
Beast came after his full potential had been unlocked.
Freiza training for a few months and surpassing super saiyan blue(they had to wear him out to win) was bullshit, but him training in another time chamber for 10 YEARS is insane and definitely makes black justified to be so strong after we saw the bs leaps he could gain in only a few months.
Everything in DragonBall is "plot convenience" or more like "new merchandise convenience. "
Whats the song in the background
Gohans jump in power is on par with Vegeta's destruction form and he's been training with Wis & Beerus the longest 😂
Gohan has his full potential unlocked
Yeah meaning his peak was unlocked everything else is just plot convenience@@cyanidegrapes
Android 17 becomes a park ranger and becomes blue level.
To be faiiirrrr. It's also been said many times throughout the series that gohans potential is pretty vast. Goku even acknowledged that gohan could be stronger than he is.
Frieza is newbie gains.
Gohan, and by extension Broly, is raw unadulterated boundless potential.
Broly not close to gohan now
@@chuckddon3536, I disagree, I literally just finished reading the chapter.
Frieza has far more potential, the fact that at birth he was stronger than the entirety of the saiyan race proves this
@@ryanchetty8336, it took 4 months for Golden Frieza(newbie gains) and 10 years for Black Frieza(normal growth).
Yall don't pay attention lol gohan keeps getting his potential unlocked 🔓 that's y his jumps in power are crazy
Frieza got crazy potential and went in a time chamber for 10 yrs(time chamber time) but with how gohan got beast shit they might as well make a goten movie if they just giving out forms for free
My problem with Beast more than anything else is that the whole thing feels like "What if we did SSJ2 Gohan again?"
It just feels like uninspired nostalgia bait
Its stypid how frieza trains for 4 months after being resurrected (he wasnt at the level of a super sayian) and then becomes equal if not a bit stonger than ssb
It’s his hair for me
Beasthan was an asspull, Black Frieza was foreshadowed and hinted at many times since the golden form showed up
He is the only one that got his power unlocked 2 times everyone else only did it once
+ Gohan also unlocked his potential on Namek
Gohan is the prime example of oh shit we forgot about this guy Freiza makes sense why he’s so strong and when he trains his growth and the leaps of his growth make sense
beast gohan is asspull while black frieza makes way more sense among rest of the crazy events in db
Remember gohan said he trained in secret so yea
Gohan also had his hidden potential unlocked twice, the last time it gave him the ability to be ssj2 in base form so going by that his power ups would be way different than a regular sayian
I agree. Gohan just feels like hype for my mexican friends who still pretend to like the show so they seem cool
Were can i watch that?
its not about trained on and on, whis said rest is important too, too much work is bad
I mean we see Gohan can easily get into amazing shape. It took a couple sparring sessions to get him to Blue level before the ToP
gohan trained less than you think, he got ki awakened in namek, got ultimate by sitting still after YEARS without training and immediately became strongest in the universe (not counting gods) and beast did the same (especially when you consider the entire movie is HIS DAUGHTER being “kidnapped” and “threatened”) pretty consistent
freeza also just makes sense
Remember that Saiyans capability and possible potentia is based on their power level measurment since they were very young. Goku was a low level Saiyan that became very strong because of training and triggers. Gohan had a strength of an adult Saiyan(Raditz) since he was 4. Stronger than Goku and Picollo combined. That is why when trained, he was the first Saiyan to reach SSJ2. Which Goku, Vegeta and Trunks had failed to do earlier. My point is, with the right trigger and catalyst, its possible that Gohan will surpass both Goku and Vegeta.
Well it’s also contracture of who Freizas mom is. I believe I read some manga/novel stating it was an angel or something.
Only gohan lil bro not the credit card😂
Similar to Gohan...Freeza....Vegeta gaining Super Saiyan...Goku becoming Super Saiyan....etc, etc...
gohan was also 9 in the manga and 11 in the anime during the cell saga so a boost like this kinda makes sense it’s like getting your man strength
