We will hook a few up on our spectrum analyser soon, I think some will be exception but the likes of the small RM, mmmm, not sure that will rate well and I would put money on some nasties for sure..I hope to do 10 or so in a longer video and really dive deeper into filtered Amps vs non filtered Amps, I have so many Amps here so it will be interesting to give them some technical feedback on our channel for sure...cheers Brenton vk3cm
We used to have problems with taxi drivers with 150w pa stages txing all over the place in the old days, it was a balance of ignorance and a willingness to spend big $$$ to win the next taxi pick up with those guys. I think the worst one I struck was investigating a narrow cast 151 mhz Greek radio station, it was so wide and had breakthrough blips all over police and ambos back in the day. I arrived to find this 100w vhf pa stage that you could fry an egg on and of course they were way above their eirp limit for narrow-band fm radio. The amp was 🎬 a high tier amp for ham radio but no way it could run 24 hours a day at full power, just crazy. The good news was the fix was to remove the amp, reset to standard legsal power and the amp they decided they didn't want so it served me well on 2m ssb tropo contacts for years, one of those tear up the invoice for the service call and Brenton got a great amp for 40mins on site work..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣oh, and they avoided a huge acma fine that would have been the result if it was discovered by one of the mobile acma techs in that era..🤔🤔🤔🤔
The old 703s work for me.
Love to see the harmonic analysis on these!
