Love the Big meter Radio's They Scream Look at me, So Retro. Sharp sometimes got bagged as cheap not that great but I've had sharp products in the pass and they have outlasted the more overly priced units of the day.

I can't believe how low your noise level is on 40! This makes me very jealous. With my FT-990, the S meter hangs at S9 just from the noise alone, all across the band

Have one , absolutely a great dual band vhf/uhf , high power radio , with awesome and scan capabilities , covers many services ( rec ) , Marine , Aeronatical , FRS / GMRS , weather etc. easy to use , powerful transmit.

The Yaesu FT-10ZD was my first Amateur radio Transceiver and I still have it. I still operate it with the original final tubes. One of the finest products Yaesu ever put out. I need to replace the filter capacitors in the power supply but after 45 years that's applicable to all those vintage units. Keep them going and enjoy. 73 de VE7DCW

I have one of these venerable rigs. When I transmit they hear me loud and clear better than al Fett and transistor tranceivers, tube magic!! It receives so nice too. They say that the 902 zd receives even better with less noise, is it true?

They were located in a suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana. I knew one of their sales reps back in the later 80’s. I even bought one of their universal tone encoders that did various modes of Ctcss, DCS, DTMF, ZEVI to name a few. Was valuable in my pager repairs since it did POCSAG encoding.

That radio is a real radio, it’s got very good reception unlike today’s radios. I use webSDR though because I’m limited in terms of where I can put an antenna so I use webSDR for listening on hf.
