Well that was a great video on the 1959 Corvette. When I was in Sydney back in 1967 I saw very few of these cars. I wish I could go back to Aussie Land. My wife and I were about go there but due to her family we never made it. Again Thanks for the video.... Mate ;-)

I had a '60 which is pretty much identical but I dropped a 327 into it instead of a 454. I did other mods too. I had the same mags but mine was in burgundy red. That's a sweet-looking blue on yours.

in 1966 my dad bought a 1959 Vette. 270hp, 2x4's. Black on Red interior. In 1970 he painted it your shade of blue. In 1982 I bought the car and painted it in Dupont Black Lacquer, "Jet Black", the best black. And interior was black. Put in a 550hp 350ci. Kept the car until 1999. It your distributor is a Mallory Unilite, lose it. Get an MSD 7 or such. You'll pick up 30hp!

Here in the USA 28.400 is the calling frequency. Thought that was kind of universal globally. LOL, goes to show what I know. I picked up my first fully loaded 775DSP last year at a public auction. Fantastic radios.

Great video. I had one of these , it was the best radio I've ever used, but it died on me , and I was told it couldn't be fixed. I now use the ts 480hx with filters and it works really well. I like 200w radios which I can afford hi. Great to see one which is working well. Thanks for sharing. Think I have a spare pa unit somewhere if anyone wants one, I think it's the pa, its the unit with the fan on the back. 73 zl3xdj

LOVE THE RADIO HAS THAT TUFF TRUCK LOOK. As for 28.490 yes been called call channel, i have a few mates in the east who i catch up with every day and have a short rag chew like a "check-in" if anything talking on said frequency does alert the band is open to DX if talked on, in fact many many HAMS sandbag as i do my radio running in the background on 28.490 in VK Land.

That rotator is infamous for getting water leaking in via the shaft and rusting out the bearing. How I do I know? I had one. The factory has no fix to stop water leaking in via the shaft and rusting the guts out. It would really need to be pulled apart to do an internal check for the corrosion issue. It is not the only rotator that has this issue. The M2 Square rotator has that same issue. All these industrial motors were not designed to sit up vertically hence they pay very little attention to putting in shaft seals. You will have the same issue with Prop pitch motors.

They have resigned themselves to the fact that when they bought their radios, they bought my big mouth LOL With love from USA. That is a beautiful old rig. I had a NATO 2000 I got from a guy years ago that had a bad VCO in it so he could never sell it. I found one in another chassis some years later and fixed it. Brought me a real strong buck at one of the Ham Radio swap meets I went to. Love those old sweet rigs. Mine is an original President Lincoln. I had an HR-2510(-4) ha ha with some great mods in it. That is a real good chassis with some tricks up its sleeve that CB radios do not have. Ask me and I will explain what the LIncoln /HR2510 will do that is VERY DIFFERNT than CBs. God bless and great shack there.

I bought one brand new old stock - never used - in it's box obviously - mic in plastic bag with original tape. I paid a lot for it, but it's absolutely a beautiful radio. Just needed to be put on frequency a little, but I really enjoy it when I use it. I can never understand how past owners let their radios get so filthy? Everything here looks brand new in my collection, I just like things nice. Cheers. VK2MRF.

I know nothing about radios but do have an appreciation for retro tech and especially stuff with LED displays and needle meters like this thing has, so the algorithm was spot on to recommend it! That is a splendid nice clean fully working (and working BRIGHTLY, which is a bonus!) piece of old tech. Very nice aesthetic to it from a design perspective too! 👍

5 months late, so i hope you see this comment. keep an eye on the fan blades. that style fan has issues with the blades cracking at the rivets. once cracked, they will eventually sling lose, tearing up anything it its path....... had it happen to me twice

I have owned (4) of the TS-50 radios over the years and they are still one of my Favorite HF mobile radios.I’m a Diehard ICOM MAN and I use an ICOM 7000 as my HF/6 meter mobile and I would not trade it for any other mobile. The TS-50 is a great choice if you have room for it in your mobile since it doesn’t have a separation kit.👍👏🎙
