- Die Hard Arcade, known as Dynamite Deka (ダイナマイト刑事, Dainamaito Deka, lit. Dynamite Detective) in Japan, is an arcade beat 'em up video game released by Sega. It was the first beat 'em up to use texture-mapped 3D polygon graphics,[5] and used a sophisticated move set by contemporary beat 'em up standards, often being likened to a fighting game in this respect.[6] It also features quick time events, the ability to combine items to make more powerful weapons, and in two-player mode the ability to perform combined special moves and combos.
The game was published in cooperation with Fox Interactive and was a licensed product based on the Die Hard movie franchise. Because Sega did not hold the Japanese video game rights for Die Hard, in Japan the game was stripped of the Die Hard license and published as an original property.
Similarly to hit action films of the time, Die Hard Arcade is dominated by over-the-top, largely gore-free violence which is played for comedic effect.[6] Released in 1996 for arcades, the game was ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997 and the PlayStation 2 (Japan only) in the Sega Ages line in 2006. A sequel, Dynamite Cop, was released for arcades and Dreamcast in 1998 without the Die Hard license.

This was one of the games at the local video rental/arcade that we had in town. I can’t recall how many dollars in quarters I spent trying to beat it, but I’m sure it’s a lot!!!
Call me crazy, but this is one of my favorite arcade games. Loved playing this on the Sega Saturn. Which I happen to do a playthrough on my channel.

When going to the laundromat or Kings Dominion Wild World I will always go to the arcades and play this game the Bad Thing about the field trip is you always have to get away from the teacher if you sneak away they'll find you

I played this so many times at the local pool hall I eventually beat it with a quarter.
Extremely Hard, in fact impossible to believe you beat this on a single quarter these games were designed to eat quarters.

Dynamite Cop Zero = Relocalized remake release

I refer to the mid to late 90's video game era as the awkward era. The games just looked glitchy and off. The technology for what programmers were trying to achieve wasnt there yet. Thats why I think late 80's/early 90's games looked better.

Wow. This has to be one of the worst games I've seen. Not even close to Die Hard in any way, shape, or form. Did they just fart on a circuit board and call it Die Hard hoping to cash in?
it looks outdated compared to ps5 graphics because it's from 1996. It also got good reviews upon release and was successful enough to get s sequel
Ya basically. It was a different game in Japan originally, they re-skinned it to Die Hard for USA market. At least the building is named Nakatomi Plaza! Lol
