Think about how much time you used to spend sewing. Now think about how much time you spend (insert what you replaced it with,) and now think about how happy you are in both scenarios. If it's something you had to put down to make room for something more important that's just life. But if it's a passion that actually provided a deeper level of fulfillment, maybe rearrange your time a little bit. Start a small project you know will take a predetermined amount of time you're comfortable with. I say this because as an artist, I fell out of certain hobbies at different points in my life almost without realizing that I was doing it. I periodically assess how my time is spent (ESPECIALLY my use of social media, Internet, anything with a screen or technology that fortunately, I did not grow up with,) so that I can make changes and make sure I'm always doing something I have a passion for that is unique to me and my talents, and for me. That's what led me to turn off my TV forever ofr 15 years ago and what led me to learn some new art forms since then, like for me, in addition to what I already knew, now I have learned lino cuts, jewelry making, beading, soldering both electronics and jewelry, and small 3d projects, I have mastered resin art, learned how to incorporate electroplating, and am now focusing on stained glass in varying techniques and styles. I hate to hear anyone put a passion down forever if it spoke to their very soul.... because like I said, what's it been replaced with? Good luck to you, and I do hope you pick up a skill that fewer and fewer people are carrying knowledge of the craft, it's important.
As a younger man I learned from my grandmother to sew and it has served me well over the past years! Now 50 and still have to help my wife and her friends on sewing projects! Have made numerous prom and wedding dresses for family and friends! Bless you and follow your dreams with sewing!

My aunt use to go window shopping then go home and make the exact outfit with no pattern. She made some of the most beautiful outfits. She made her daughter a copy of a $10,000. wedding dress.
I will say that I hope you choose to pursue this as a career. You have an amazing talent, you're passionate about it, and it makes you happy. You'll go far.

I taught myself off TH-cam after the pandemic how to read patterns and thread my machine and even how to make my own patterns with measurements. I love it here. its the best feeling ever. im feeding my inner creative whenever I feel like it and make money at the same time.

When I worked in Washington DC, my salary didn't allow for me to dress as nicely as I wanted. But I learned to sew starting when I was 8 years old, so I started spending my weekends going to the fabric store (this was in the 1980s, no online anything yet), then making quick dresses or outfits that I'd wear to work that week. Everyone would tell me how well-tailored my wardrobe was! If I knew them well, I'd admit I was the "tailor." I even made extra money doing hems and buttons for coworkers! These days I do more home furnishings, but yes, when you can sew, you can make whatever you want! It's one of my favorite skills! (One of my aunts offered me $100 for my 30+ year old Singer sewing machine - what I paid for it new - I told her no thank you, I need it). Keep stitching!

That's a great life skill. My wife learned to sew from her grandmother in the 1960's and in her early years in school worked part time in a clothing factory sewing clothes. She reupholsters furniture and makes drapes and quilts now.
You put so much effort into the dress and the end result is so pretty and the dress suit you so well the dress look so beautiful and Pretty . You are a beautiful person
What a wonderful skill to have! Your gown is lovely! My one talent is technical design. At age 6, my grandmother handed me a plastic needle, yarn for thread, an old "hankie" and sent me outside to sew. From that moment on, I poured my energy into sewing and have loved turning illustrations into reality. Keep it up!

I aspire to get this good at sewing. I started making doll dresses when I was 6 but didn’t get my first sewing machine until 15 and now a few years later I want to start designing my own clothes but I’m trying to learn how to do that better. Watching these videos inspire me so much.
Yours are really amazing, realistic and actually pretty. Usually princess dresses look tacky but yours can easily be worn in public without a shame. You even made sleeping beauty wearable and pretty irl. Belles are the winner for me
I started sewing my own abayas back in May of this year. I can say the experience is so therapeutic and allowed me to express my creativity in a way I didn’t think I had. I started doing small things and eventually started sewing my own clothes in a matter of months that’s how much I love it and the great thing is you can do it at your leisure! Keep going girl! ❤
