Josh would be making the triple jump. Squad player, established starter, to world class player. As a Chelsea fan I rather see the jump jump in Guehi from established starter to world class player. Josh can be a deputy for now
For every title-winning team, there are always those who step up when the time comes-for example, LFC had Joe Gomes, Origin, Shaqiri, Wijnaldum, Lallana, etc. For Chelsea, I see Guehi as one of these key players in the next few seasons as we look to build a title-challenge team!
At first I was thinking no, we have too many. But you convinced me, Diasi, Tosin, and Fofana are either not at the level required or unavailable too often. Getting in Guehi is a floor raiser and can even fill in the inverted fullback role when required. If we get him in there'll still be a decent amount of development minutes availabile for Acheompong and Anselmino.
Guehi is a good player for sure, but not really the profile of CB that this Chelsea team needs. The need is for someone who can replicate what Fofana can do when healthy. An aggressive, athletic, and aerially strong player who can play in the RCB position and defend the wide areas while the RB is pushing up. The squad as a whole is quite small and poor in the air. Guehi just doesn't fill the need.

Chels fan here (UTC!) Very interesting points! I think in an ideal wheeling and dealing world I'd buy Guehi for Chalobah + loaning Acheampong for six months + some cash. I don't see a future for Trev, I really rate Acheampong, but my concern is that we don't have the time to let Acheampong mature this season.... ....but then again, next season, we should be in a title race. So can we help mature him next season in the first team, either? Can Guehi and Colwill win us a title next season? Maybe?? Can Acheampong and Colwill?....I don't think so next year. Can they help us make top four next season?? Maybe. Maybe we do just persevere with Acheampong and wait till Fofana is back - and hope we can still make top four (maybe 5 but I'm not planning for that redundancy).
Do we take a page out of Barca's book with trusting the talent at hand? Cubarsi shows it can produce results but you also can't burn out a young lad yet want to give him the best chance at thriving. Tricky one because if you get Gueui, like James said, you could be looking at locking down that CB spot for a decade on both sides with Colwill and Gueui with Fofana as backup/rotation. Also it is crazy that three of those four CBs are Cobham youth products, the Chelsea development might be the best in the country.
Should also be mentioned that Chelsea have a 20 or 25% sell on clause for him. Dealing with Chelsea would make sense from them unless another club wants to pay that on top
@@chocobomtom Colwill has a lot of maturing to do, I wouldn't argue there's much in it. Chalobah is leagues ahead of Badiashile, Disasi, and Tosin, and Fofana is never available.
virgil and alisson, transformed liverpools defence, we need a virgil and alisson. If we can get Guehi for 45 mil and sell chalobah for 25 then id be happy
For me, I'd try something that absolutely would not work but would be ideal for Chelsea. Offer Palace both Chalobah and Disasi for Geuhi. Chelsea get a higher tier CB, and Palace get solid depth. Also, it allows for the youngsters at Chelsea an opportunity to come through at the same rate because Disasi would be gone.
Need to make ucl and hopefully compete for league next season. I would personally believe we can compete for a cup this year but maybe not necessarily.
i wouldn't mind Guehi as he can play LCB RCB CCB he is a leader as well which our team lack get guehi and sell disasi and watch lacroix for the summer as well also it gives Achempong time to get use to the epl Guehi/cucurella Colwill/Tosin Reece/Achempong backline that's a solid backline
Guehi is exactly what we need. Leadership, availability, EPL proven, knows the club, great defender, and amazing at breaking the lines with passing. Really no down side is signing him. Disasi and Badiashile aren’t good enough and rightfully so are on the market. Top 4 is going to be a battle this second half of the season and need to get Guehi in asap
Acheampong looked very good, if they decide not to loan him and sell either Badiashile or Disasi and focus on Colwill - Tosin - Acheampong - Guehi depth, that’s phenomenal. Not to mention Fofana is good when healthy
If I'm Chelsea then I look at getting Guehi and sending Disasi or Badiashile the other way since Palace will be in need. 2 players who just dont seem cut for Chelsea right now but could do well for a Palace. I dont think Tosin should be in the discussion though since hes only just joined Chelsea and he was signed mainly because Chelsea severely lack height elsewhere in the team. Without Tosin theyre one of the shortest squads in the league and really lack any aerial options when needed.
I would love Guehi at Man City. I think we have an aging defence that sometimes lacks leadership when Dias is out. A young, premier league captain, proven internationally and in the league. What’s not to like? But I don’t see him leaving in January, and I don’t see him returning to Chelsea. City should prioritise him in the summer!
He got attributes of Virgil van Dijk but rather than spend much money on him in January, get chalobah back into the first team till the end of the season.
It’s even more of a no-brainer once you factor in the 18% sell on clause we have for Guehi, making any deal even cheaper for us - bargain and should be prioritised
Personally, I’d just as soon recall Alfie gilchrist and rely on a combination of him, acheampong, and anselmino to make up Wesley fofana in the aggregate. Realistically, I think tosin is good enough to be our first choice for the rest of the season, and the three young lads can be back up
Chaloba is good central back and Chelsea needs a 9, the occasions when Jackson fails are something to worry about. They can negotiate with Lazip an exchange, a return of Nkunku, plus money for Benjamin Sesko or go for Igor Matanovich from Frankfurt, which is an interesting 9 for Maresca's scheme.
As a long time Chelea fan i'm kind of sick of managers who decide they don't like good players and just freeze them out. Scolari dropped Drogba and he only played off the bench, before going back to world class as outlasting him. Rafa Benitez dropped John Terry beleiving he was too old and slow only for Terry to go on to win the title under Mourinho (mk2) playing every minute of every game (premier league). Mourinho (though he semi denies it with Salah), got rid of both Salah and Kevin De Bryne both largely on personaility. Tuchel we sold Tammy Abraham because he didn't like him for some reason and only now finally in Nicolas Jackson seem to have replacement. We went out and bought all these players (Veiga, Casidei, Santos, KDH, Ugochukwu, etc (plus youth team graduates like Chalobah and Broja)), some of them won't be good enough yes, but the manager should be getting something out of them rather than going out and spending another 70 odd million on another player (and one we already had and sold).
I think we are a very young inexperienced team with lots of talent. But maybe need a few that can make that 'Jump Jump's to the world class level. We have Cole and Caicedo who I think are world class but maybe a CB, more solid Keeper and striker. But I also think we could have those in our ranks because I love Jackson so maybe I'm.hoping blindly 😂
Personally I just want some CBs out the club like diasi and maybe bassihile they were hassle to sign and nothing good has come from them also instead of focusing on buying players I think Chelsea just needs to be more clinical with set pieces to deal with more the occurrence of low blocks cause we get them like a lot we just don’t use them well
It is genius to buy a super-expensive CB that isn't really a good fit to partner with Colwill? How does that work? Guehi and Colwill are basically the same type of player. Both are strong on the ball, both are good at passing, both are somewhat weak in the air, neither of them are physical beasts, and both of them prefer to stand off rather than going for a brawl.
We should just go for top four, and wait for our talented youngsters to develop and slowly take their spot in the squad, idk if we need marc, anselmino is also a very very talented bloke from Argentina and josh is pure class
I know he's right footed but he plays on the left doesn't he? If he can play well on the right next to colwill then absolutely I'm down. However josh achempong is the real deal, just needs a year of playing premier league, but might be best him going on loan. Interesting decisions to make.
he wouldn't have developed into the England international he is right now if we didn't sell him sell-ons and buybacks allow smaller clubs to help develop these players first and if they become good, the club can buy him back for a higher price basically Chelsea are paying Palace £25-30m to make him better

@@joekiff8782Chalobah is a better ball playing CB and is versatile enough that he can be used as an RB or CDM if needed. His progression of the ball is significantly better than Guehi. I mean Chalobah has absolutely pinged some fantastic passes at times for Chelsea. Its ridiculous Chelseas owners wanted to push him out to try and get the pure profit because he is actually perfectly suited to a side that wants to play football out from the back. Also this idea that Chalobah makes mistakes is huge recency bias. He really hasn't made that many mistakes through his career. Jump-jump or jump-up. Can a player make the move from their league to the PL to CFC to being top 4 to title contending? How bad are the injuries to Fofana, James, Lavia and Badiashile? What impact will their combined absences have on Chelsea's season? What will it cost to replace one or all of them? Rip up the game plan and strengthen the foundation corner stones! Badiashile has limitations and errors in his game. James' and Fofana's short term to long term availability is questionable. Lavia although young, his progress has been hampered. Guéhi, Chalobah, Acheampong, Anselmino or Tomori or other, offer different options based on availability and price. How fast or how good can they "jump up" at CFC? Who best fit Chelsea's expectations and developmental model? Who will pair and help mentor Colwill? Whose CV best plugs the defensive leaks? Chalobah might be the easiest and more cost effective to pry from Palace. In Guéhi, Palace is giving up their captain and an England starter. That pedigree is not readily available or easily replaced. His value doubles or triples, based on Chelsea's current delimma. What else is available based on budget criteria? Not just a quickie but a repair to climb the ladder.
Guehi isnt the same as Achempong cus he plays cb while Achempong played most his life as a rwb in England n Chelsea youth level so idk if he can fit with this rhetoric
I’d rather Guehi go for a free realistically we are barely staying up as it is. Having Guehi leave (one of the biggest leaders and cornerstones of the team) would almost certainly mean a relegation fight for the rest of the season.
Guehi was our academy player and we sold him and now we have bums like Disasi or Badiashile instead. We also have bum goalkeepers and Kepa shouldn't be rated as high as Marcin Bulka who we also let go truthfully both Bulka and Guehi were put on sale during Roman's reign. However to give Roman props i think we have a sale on clause on Guehi so we can get him for less than whatever Palace would ask still sucks tho.
Axel, Tosin and Badi are terrible! Can't give you two good games in a row. Adding Marc to Josh and Levi would a big help! Marc and Levi, Marc more than Levi can put two to three good games together. A good support system for Josh to work off. As for James and Fofana, they can't say fit for three games in a row. Same reason I would re-call Santos. Lavia is two games in, five games out.
tossin mocked his old team fulham late in the second half by wasting time with only a 1-0 lead - that arrogance and negative play lead to a loss and him losing his place! NEVER BE COCKY!!!
You stop playing stupid lopsided back 4 you play an actual back 3 of colwil Guehi and rotate the 3rd in and out. I think the elbow back 4 is stopping us so
Guehi is nowhere near good enough, reality is Palace is his level, hence why Newcastle wouldn't pay 70m for him. He's too small, not aerially good enough, not aggressive enough, not good enough on the ball, while he's the captain, he is not a vocal leader, and the fact is, he had a good Euros, then fell off a cliff since. He is a mid-table player, and worth max 40m, that's just the reality, and nothing wrong with that. Maybe he could step up to Spurs or Brighton.
This is a crap vid. I hope Guehi doesn't go there. You know just as well as anyone else that if he goes there it would only be a matter of time until he gets forced out or gets benched for a foreign big money signing, he'll drop out the England team and career derailed. I would far prefer him going to Liverpool or any club that isn't that shower
Maybe I’m delusional but I think £20m + Chalobah seems like a realistic fee. He’s got 18 months on his contract so 55m would be a decent price. Chelsea have a 20% sell on clause, which means 55m from Newcastle/Spurs gives Palace the same money as a 44m bid from Chelsea. Chalobah is probably worth 25m so 19m (44m-25m) seems fair?
Josh would be making the triple jump. Squad player, established starter, to world class player.

Chelsea have a buy back clause for Guehi
What an intro😂😂😂. I’ll refer to u as “More” from now on
I feel like guehi can make the jump jump but can he make the jump jump jump?
If Chelsea is serious about getting champions league football and winning the league next season, this is a no brainer!
Tosin is a backup
Guehi isnt the same as Achempong cus he plays cb while Achempong played most his life as a rwb in England n Chelsea youth level so idk if he can fit with this rhetoric
this guy everytime he speaks always sound clueless. pure waffles 😂
No. Guehi isn’t the elite Cb we need. Can find similar level players for a lot less than the 50m+ that they’d want
I’d rather Guehi go for a free realistically we are barely staying up as it is. Having Guehi leave (one of the biggest leaders and cornerstones of the team) would almost certainly mean a relegation fight for the rest of the season.
That being said chalobah josh achenpomg and chuckmuweka and 10M you can have him
And Lucas bergstrom as well 😂
Fofana only out for 5-7 weeks
LOVE IT. WANT IT. NEED IT. GIVE IT.
As a Palace fan I don't think he's that good, cash in while his reputation is high.
hes mid af. Its not genius, and its stupid to think he can reach VVD levels
Class at the euros tho, easily can reach elite level
Guehi is 45m tops
You stop playing stupid lopsided back 4 you play an actual back 3 of colwil Guehi and rotate the 3rd in and out. I think the elbow back 4 is stopping us so
James has been watching one piece hasn't he? Transfer with the jump-jump fruit.
Im African...iknow this is not technical but ireally think we need more white players in our squad..a white CB..ijust dont know who😢
Disasi sell
Tosin sell - never going to be good enough. Free transfer and we could get 20m
Sign Guehi with the money
Guehi is nowhere near good enough, reality is Palace is his level, hence why Newcastle wouldn't pay 70m for him. He's too small, not aerially good enough, not aggressive enough, not good enough on the ball, while he's the captain, he is not a vocal leader, and the fact is, he had a good Euros, then fell off a cliff since. He is a mid-table player, and worth max 40m, that's just the reality, and nothing wrong with that. Maybe he could step up to Spurs or Brighton.
Not gonna happen big guy. He’s to expensive
No it's not a bloated squad and no it's not genius to bring back Marc would rather go with Josh Acheampong and not stunt his development...
Classic Chelsea. He was from the academy but sold him and now will they try to buy him back? 😂😂
But he was sold under the old regime
@@Cfcjay89 Yeah true. And look at the Lukaku case, absolute disaster
@@preethamhazard when have we bought someone we sold from the academy ever? 👀
He’s absolutely not good enough for Chelsea he’s so overhyped
NOOOOO leave out cb alone
Chalobah is bette
This is a crap vid. I hope Guehi doesn't go there. You know just as well as anyone else that if he goes there it would only be a matter of time until he gets forced out or gets benched for a foreign big money signing, he'll drop out the England team and career derailed. I would far prefer him going to Liverpool or any club that isn't that shower
He’d be more of the same crap they’ve already got at centre half. Overrated
Bull shit 😢, he is not good enough.. this team just fuck up 😮👎🏾🙄🥺 Get us to upper 10
I love Marc Guehi but he’s not a league winning center back in a 2
Maybe I’m delusional but I think £20m + Chalobah seems like a realistic fee.
He’s got 18 months on his contract so 55m would be a decent price. Chelsea have a 20% sell on clause, which means 55m from Newcastle/Spurs gives Palace the same money as a 44m bid from Chelsea.
Chalobah is probably worth 25m so 19m (44m-25m) seems fair?
home grown at club will be really beneficial for potential champions league squad registration
Trevor chalobah is on the same level as guehi 😭
No one to Chelsea is genius. Trash club.
Ok trash club who won everything
@@couturecriminal8330 You can buy success, but you can't buy class.
@sudetank1 which you clearly have
Whoever sanctioned the move for Disasi and Badiashile to Chelsea shouldn't get hired again
