Great information...thanks for doing this! It seems like these units prefer to be running with the only real downside is it requires a little more frequent service. I'd love to know more about the sound of the unit while running all night...you mentioned you had to turn it down while speaking. I'm in a "different" van and considering a switch to the Rixen Hydronic system but not sure how loud they are running.
Wouldn't it be more efficient if the vents were pointed in the opposite directions. With 1 heat vent flowing toward the thermostat then it would cycle on off more often saving runtime and a more comfortable environment overall evenly distributing heat. I think that was the idea of the new Mode dual vents, separate air flow to cover more areas. Still a good fyi test.
It would be more effective if you wanted the entire cabin to be the same temp, yes. However for the 2019-2021 models the biggest concern in cold weather is having your water hoses and pumps freezing, so in order to prevent that having both of the vents directed toward the water pump compartment ( for max heat) would be ideal. However you do have a good point, to keep ambient temps throughout the entire van you'd want to have them in different directions.
Great info! Thanks!
