    I can tell, that the pink one is definitely a sapphire. The orangish-red one is definitely a red spinel. Natural rubies are real rubies, lab rubies are real rubies, pink sapphires are sapphires. Rubies are corundum, sapphires are corundum.

      @@zbs8334 You don't get any traces of orange colors in rubies. If you do, it must be either a spinel or a garnet.

      Ruby and Sapphire are both corundum. It's literally just a red or blue version of almost the same gem. There is an explanation for the color. You can look it up.

    • @rayw2707
      @rayw2707 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@matthewdavis9437 Yes. I know that. You are right. Only red corundum can be ruby. But sapphires may not always be blue, they can be many other colors other than blue. They can be green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, or clear. Pinkish orange sapphires can sometimes be Padparadscha.

    • @DrDIYhax
      @DrDIYhax ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lord Blanco actually no its chemically identical to natural ruby just grown in a lab, lab material is better it's cleaner and cheaper and it doesn't destroy the ground

      These people are just out to make money they don't give a flying f lab grade rubies are the way to go they have less inclusions and they look more beautiful and they're easier to work with less risk

      Lab grown ruby is indeed real ruby. It is chemically identical. It's not glass or cz. It's real ruby. It is usually high color and clarity grade too, for a fraction of the earth grown stone price.

    I saw another video that explains testing Gems like this.👇
    If I place any Gem, for example, a saphire, ruby or emerald into a clear oil, and the stone keeps it's color all through out it, then it's REAL. If not, as seen in the other video, then it's FAKE. Is that correct.?

  • @Galvatron_Studios
    @Galvatron_Studios 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Scrape the ruby against the surface of another object. If it leaves a red streak, it's fake. You’re welcome, people. Also, give it a nice scratch with a quarter to see if scratch marks appear. That's how you’ll know its fake. Bubbles are another sign as well.

      Lab grown gems aren’t junk. They’re literally the same exact thing, in every aspect. Goodjob supporting slave labor!!!

    • @MazalTopJewelers
      @MazalTopJewelers 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@VernorsYou're exactly right. Lab grown gemstones are usually superior in quality, as far as the criteria that a jeweller or gemologist is allegedly grading a gemstone by. Lab grown stones make precious stones affordable at high clarity and color grades for most people, instead of those qualities of stone only being attainable for the extremely wealthy.

  • @godleveleldritchblast5257
    @godleveleldritchblast5257 ปีที่แล้ว

    For ruby and sapphire the UV test is useless because both will glow under UV. Mohr scale is also out unless to tell from garnet or spinel. Polychromatism is a good indicator between garnet and spinel too. Spectrometry might be the best to identify ruby and sapphire but that will depend on the colour of the sapphire but 95% of the time spectrometry and inclusions would be the best options here for identifying Rubies. So looking for air bubbles and other stone inclusions would work.

    • @davidmaj4259
      @davidmaj4259 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn't it only be a synthetic sapphire that reacted to uv light?

    • @godleveleldritchblast5257
      @godleveleldritchblast5257 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidmaj4259 that would normally be the case but there are some natural blue sapphires that also glow under UV due to a high chromium content found in the chemical make-up.
