TrueUnderDawgGaming Do you prefer Trunks to Vegeta? Vegetas qcb-f in mid air does more damage than trunks regular H combo ender plus it allows you to super while in the air.
Anthony Mangene each player has their own aerial moves. Vegetas qcb-m is a sweet ass double kick that you can follow up with a vanish or a super. If you use his qcf-m he dashes threw the oponant ending the combo retning vegeta back to the ground.
I can't thank you enough for sticking with QCF notation. Coming from Street Fighter, other combo guides that use numpad notation makes it so hard to read. This is much cleaner. Thanks again!
The problem with the more complicated combos that end in heat dome attack is that because of damage scaling, they'll end up doing significantly less damage than the combo at 0:49. They may be flashy and send a message, but they're not exactly optimal.

My brother got FighterZ for me and I love it!! Even if I'm a girl I love fighting games especially anime ones, but recently I feel like I need to start REALLY learn how to fight and not just press buttons randomly, but I want to remind myself if Freiza throws a purple orb at me I just jump instantly and start knocking the hell out of him👍✨. Trunks is one of my favorite characters to play as so I want to be VERY good at him so I can impress my brothers and be proud of myself, thanks!!!

jump cancelling is simple, you can immediatly jump after a medium attack (not from a crouching one) meaning that after the opponet is sent up by a medium attack, you can jump and follow with a light attack and then another medium, from which you can jump again immediatly and follow with a light to medium to heavy.

The Combo at @3:20 can have an extra heavy attack in it. its about 250 more dmg but still, more dmg is more dmg. Try M - cM - S - qcb+S - M - jump - L - M - Down Heavy - jump - L - M - H - Blink - qcf+M - qcf+LM
Very nice video ! Was trying your combos a bit, and noticed that most of your combos that start with L,L then cM,M do more damage if I start directly with cM, M because of damage scaling. Don't know if the 1.11 patch did alter the damage scaling for all characters though. Is there a reason why starting with L, L is prefered, or was it just to showcase the possibilities ? Love your videos, I do. But... In the second combo you write "cM,M,S,qcb+S" but you seem to actually do M into cM instead. Fyi. The other thing is it would be really helpful if you indicate when a move is used as a cancel. I can't for the life of me land that Special but it allows me to go into the change the future move. Lastly it would be cool (and frankly can't be difficult) if you listed the combos in description. I can't copy paste from a video. Keep it up, hope to see your work improve.
Whenever I'm finishing an air combo my character falls straight down and doesn't float towards the enemy like yours does in the video. What am I doing wrong?
PLEASE do videos for yamcha, adult gohan, and vegeta. I think my combos are optimal but im not familiar enough with anime fighters to know for sure. Especially yamcha because his combo damage seems surprisingly low. I figured he would wreck if you manage to get a wolf fang fist going but his highest damage stuff doesnt even use it as far as i know

vonschuhart well yeah its a lot easier to defend against vegeta than yamcha or android 18 thats why they do less damage they are mixups heavy characters.
That's not true his airrolls make him one of the most mobile characters in the game allowing for mixups and controlling Engagements combo wise I'm still trying to put it together but there's a guy named chapman who combos off of em sonicfox uses them for mixups
Pretty much every combo here that starts with a sweep and ends with heat dome would have done more damage if you just went straight from the C.M to the lvl3 without all the unnecessary in-between.
That combo only worked because I was in the corner and ended my air combo with a heavy attack. That allows me to fall with the opponent and land next to them (since they can't slide any farther away). I hope this helps :)

Keep in mind starting any combo with L will scale the damage down just a bit. Also L-Lin the air does the same damage as you would if you L-M making those jj easier
Rico not only that but the range of M is greater. Thisbis all well and good in training but i started fighting people today and whenever i grt the air combo going they just cL to recover and land on their feet. Ground game with people like berus and friza works well against trained fighters

Speaking personally, the main usage for his cyclone spin is utility, but you can combo with it. -Your forward cyclone spin is typically used in a block string to try and jump over your opponent to strike them from behind with an aerial. -Your backwards cyclone spin is typically used for distance. -I've seen people use cyclone spin in corner combos, typically to slightly extend an air string (i'm no good at it), but you can also use the forward spin to close the gap after a vanish. This costs a bar more than using his Shining Slash, but can knock the opponent down in situations that Shining Slash doesn't, letting you set up low HP enemies for a finishing super.

Those tend to do more damage ive found compared to conventional L M jL M or M L L jM L L but instead something like L M cH jL M H qcfL+M. An example full combo like this would be L L M cM cH>H or H>H and then L M cH jL M H qcfL+M.
Most of these combos are super depressing to try cause I suck at fighters. I just love DBZ. My brain can’t hold a 10-12 command line. Especially under pressure.

Yes, it is strange at first. But most command grab supers can't be comboed into in other games. You usually have to do them raw in the neutral. I think the reason its damage scales so much in a combo is to give incentive for doing it raw (like you would in other games). If you do combo into it, make sure to keep the combo short. It does more damage that way :)
the character that is forced in loses all of their blue life. so lets say your opponent has goku and cell left on their team. you do a big combo on goku that doesnt kill, but leaves him at low life with a lot of blue life left. you think that your opponent may switch out to cell to try to recover goku's life. your opponent tags out to cell and then you hit them with a 2H to anti air their predicted tag. now you'd just finish the combo on cell and end it with the vanish attack to the snap back to bring goku back in and be able to kill him quickly with a simple combo. since goku didnt get much of a chance to recover the blue life that he had before he lost all the blue life, he is low on life still and thats why a simple combo should kill.
And when you kill the forced switch in fast enough, the character you just forced out also loses his blue health. It only costs 1 bar and is easy to do. It is also smart to use to force in the opponents weaker characters that have anoying assist like Vegeta ssj in most teams.
When I get the Fused Zamasu DLC character, I'm going to make a team I'm calling the Way of the Blade. It's going to have Trunks, Black, and Fused Zamasu in it. All three use a blade in regular attacks and/or specials, weather it's an energy blade or regular sword.

Sorry for the confusion, it means you should dash before doing the cM. You don't need to, but it makes the lvl 3 super more likely to reach :)

You should move to the side when doing attacks and when it is done you'll move to the side when ya fall down.

c is crouching. qcb is down to back (quarter circle back). qcf is down to forward (quarter circle forward). j is jump. I hope that helps out :)
