the fact that he comes out shirtless and dancing completely blurs us from what happens in the background, a reality that we do not accept even though every day is evident before our eyes, Donald Glover is a fucking genius. The message seems pretty clear cut to me. Poverty and violence in inner cities that dis proportionally effects African Americans and is an inescapable part of everyday life. The kids dancing with him in the center of the video but all chaos and madness in the background is out of focus and barely even acknowledged. Looks a lot like how most Americans are aware of the chaos and problems, but get distracted by all the stupid things, like social media and the like, and doing nothing to stop chaos. And we also see the perp and know their name....but we do not know who the victim is under the hood....we never know the victims names....but we know the shooters right away.
