We are working 12-13 hours daily, and on top of that, we have to travel for 3 hours daily. What kind of misery is this? We are paying high taxes and getting nothing from the government because of useless freebies. They are doing nothing for IT workers but would always be ready to exploit them. It's a shame on Congress for doing whatever they want to continue their freebies. If companies want to increase work hours, they should also increase the salaries properly according to the work hours, but would the government care about that? Would the government care about IT people if they get laid off even after working for 10-15 years for a company?
Why even be okay with longer working hours for higher pay? I mean, isn't 8-9 hours per day and additional 2-3 hours commute time enough? No wonder Indians want to settle abroad. Earlier I used to dislike them, but now I respect them for the vision they have for themselves.

I only do formal work 4 to 6 hours a day depending on the day so to me 8 hours is not ok. The rest of the day is spent living life and earning through passive income.
I do 10 hours work that too full night shift. If this 14 hours is applied for me then I'll say bye bye to this world within a week.

Whoever made this law, never worked in an IT-related Engineering Company. It is impossible to do any creative work for more than 7 hours, unless you have a deadline which happens 2/3 times in a month.

In Indian hotels the working hours are already 12-14hrs I had to leave the country to get better work life balance. so wouldn’t be surprised if the other industries do the same.
In foreign countries like Canada and USA 40 hrs per week is regular hours and remaining 30 hrs per week is considered as overtime ,in India if we work for entire day we get same salary ,A new law should be implemented for Indian working hrs and overtime pay .

As entrepreneurs, one should also consider to provide opportunities to maximum people. Not just pile on profits. I work abroad in a manufacturing industry and have a strict 35 hour week. I did stay back in office for 10 hours on 2 days when I was new and enthusiastic to learn the processes, only to be warned by HR that it is against the law.😀

An unskilled worker work from 9 to 5 , i.e 8 +/- 2, and gets paid 1000 rs, no tax....so in a month excluding sundays is 25 K. Now if a IT guy has to work 14 hrs mean, his salary should also go up by 1.8 or 2 times as he/she makes all payment. First propse company to increase salaries in such fashion, then propose this. With out doing any pay structure , leaves etc changes,other wise things will go in a very bad shape.

When these politicians work for more than 10 hours a day, they can talk about putting more hours into the common man's life.
1. They travel around with their official car, with lights blaring. Stop using drivers and drive yourself then talk about it.
2. Improve the connectivity of transportation, an average person spends an estimated 3~4 hours on the road traveling to work.
3. Stop walking out from the assembly, they act as if it is their home. Is the same privilege of walking out of the workplace provided?
