I remember when my brother surprised me on my birthday. He gone for five long years. I couldn’t believe he was there. The shock and surprise of the person who you love ❤️ with all your heart was there. It’s a feeling that you will never forget. He’s retired now, but knowing he was out there defending our country. Risking his life for our country, makes me feel really proud of him. He served 25 years. I’m still proud of what he’s done for us. To all families that have a family member serving in the military. Understand they miss you a lot. There doing their job, so we all can rest easy, knowing that they will defend us. For those who serve our military, keep up with protecting us. I honor your commitment, sacrifice and service.
All these men and women that have served our country is so truly emotional to see them come home. I enjoy watching but can only watch so much. May God bless you that have served and are still serving.
A family goes through a lot when a loved one is in deployment not to mention what the soldiers of our military go through. Seeing this is tearful and happy. I can't wait for my beautiful angel to be home in a month.
I salute all Service personnel as I'm a soldiers brat I know the feeling of joy when your loved one comes home. Also good to see Ukrainian soldiers coming back from the front line into the arms of their loved ones defending their Country.
While I would never want to take one second away from this, my husband came home from Vietnam to feeling so rejected and ashamed! He came home to me and a 4mo daughter! Only President Trump has said thank you!
I wouldn't take anything away from these service member, I just wish when we came back from the Nam , we would have been just respected and not hated or called all kinds of names. I'm proud of these service members but I'm also proud of my fellow Nam vets
All these bittersweet home comings are so emotional . Thank God they are safe. But please remember our soldiers who didn't make it back. Thanks to all service men and women who help protect us here so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. God Bless Yous and please try and be safe always.
They are just out of the boot-no big deal, Or they are chair force people. Let's see a Marine who has been in battle for six years come home. Women are not at risk- Ukrainians excepted. They know what a horrible battle is like. When I finished tour after tour, I stayed on base in officers' quarters. I am sure my father knew where I was as a former Marine Corps Colonel. He had access to get briefed. But I did not go. Never called anyone lest I should die. My maternal grandmother was brilliant and a judge. I sat in her courtroom in dress whites, and she did not see me. Afterward, I asked the bailiff if I could go into her chambers. Of course, he granted my wish. She was shocked. She checked if I was wounded. ( I did have a nasty scar from shrapnel). Fixed later. She said why didn't you call, and why are you here early? I said, "Because I missed tuna sandwiches and your chocolate milk!" She teared up. And I got them. I am glad to not have come home to so many fat people seen here! I had to salute my father first, and then he shook my hand. He knew what was in my head. He had it too. So he got his best bottle of bourbon, and we sat on the porch at his ranch and talked about everything but war. It took me a year to get my head straight. He sent me to Tahiti. It worked. Now it is my ranch since he has passed. That's where I live. It is very nice to work with animals other than the Taliban and ISIS.
