I have been using this pen for a long time and it is my daily use pen. The writing experience and simplicity of this pen (aren't these what fountain pens are meant for??) can give luxury pens a serious run for their money. Pity, Airmail's (the company that makes this brand) distribution is very weak and this has a direct impact on the availability of this wonderful pen.
Nice strong looking well made eyedropper. I like clear demonstrators as you can see how much ink you have and the working parts. If they put a bridge across the top of the nib to control the flow, you don't get burping.
I have this pen and a couple of other Airmail pens (69). I like all of them. The clip is fine and secure though tight. I agree with you on the writing experience. They had been making all their pens with same nib and feed it seems. By the way the feed is the classic Indian ebonite not plastic. The T in 71JT seems to denote Transparent. To stop burping, I have been using the trick given by Gama on their website. Fill ink up to bottom thread in the barrel, thread in the section until you have two threads left, invert the pen to the bottle, complete screwing in the section with the ink drops falling into the bottle. This primes the feed and to me I have written till the last drop with the 71JT. Unfortunately it seems Airmail are closing down.
Perfect. Positively brilliant. You answered my question as I was asking it. I prefer to write with the Indian made eyedroppers, especially the Ebonite. I feel like I'm holding a fascinating bit of history.
Most of my pens are indian eyedroppers. Other than adding more ink, is there a way to lessen the burping of ink, when the level gets a little low in the barrel?
They have medium nibs too!! You have to specifically order. Or you can just buy medium point nibs too. I resently bought !! Great experience of writing.
The best way to keep the pen from burping is when the ink goes to around half, you just need to refill the barrel and keep it filled as much as possible and ypu wouldn't face the problem of the pen burping. This is a beautiful and a value for money fountain pen.
Lovely review dear sir of an iconic pen. I simply adore this and is a good daily beater pen. I have a quick question - appreciate if there is some solution. The barrel has developed a microscopic cut near the base. Can hardly see it except from some angles. But it leaks a very small quantity of ink when in a non writing position. Is there a way to seal this?
I just recieved parker frontier. Im a student and I write a lot. The converter can carry less ink. Is there a way to carry more loaded ink except cartridges? Because I want to load my own ink. I heard cartridges comes with their own ink like ballpoint refills.
@@fabinravindran3684 Lol, I have been using like this since, 5-6 years. And there is not a single issue with that. Parker is a flexible pen. You can trust it.
How can we buy this pen? I came across Airmail pens on Amazon, but they are listed as 'Ledos Airmail'. I'm not sure whether those are original Airmail pens. (I have one Airmail demonstrator pen which is more than 18 years old, and I simply love it!)
Hello Sir. I have a question for you. Which Kanwrite nib size would fit perfectly in this pen? Can it take in #35 nib of Kanwrite? That nib is extremely extremely smooth. Also, is the pen feed made of ebonite? Feels and looks ebonite to me. I may be wrong. Please excuse me for that in advance.

Use a small steel ball bearing
Yes use a deeply finned feeder. I use the sheaffer No nonsense feeder with this pen and can write the pen dry. No problem.

Very similar to the Camlin pen we had in school days, isn't it?

You can get this at penhouse.in
Informative review.
What is the difference between Airmail 69 and 71 ?
Yes I too have the same doubt. Both looking similar in appearance.
71 jt is longer, and has a bigger cap band. And can take a #6 nib ( 69T can also take that nib but it takes some effort)

Buy a catridge, remove the ink and fill your own ink using a syringe.
A parker frontier pen can be used as an eyedropper pen, so no issues. Remove any cartridge or converter, just fill the ink in the barrel and use it.

Try to heat set the nib and feed into the section that also helps to reduce burping

Feed is of ebonite right
Feed i think is not plastic but made of ebonite
Definitely, even I talked with the manager of Airmail Company itself, he told that the feed is made up of ebonite.
