I believe we should spend double for joao neves. That is a recipe for success. Nr.6Neves nr.8Mainoo. nr.10Fernandes now that is a perfectly balanced midfield with 2 generational talents backed up by a strong defence of licha and de ligt. That snould let Onana advance on the pitch a bit to help keep the area clear and that's half the job done! Think about how Garnacho or even Rashford could improve from last season especially if zirkzee will be dropping deep and playing between the lines with Bruno. So all in all we can still improve but we're a much less complete team especially midfield if we're stuck with Ugarte although he put in a good performance against brazil in copa america last night

Mainoo and neves are both just 19 and not very good yet defensively to play both together. Neves can play no.6 no. 8 and no. 10. We would have options incase of injuries.

If we pick up neves we wont need ugarte we'll have the improved version but sadly i don't see Benfica accepting anything below 80-90m so 70m is farfetched. Their original value was 120m
If we do a relatively cheap deal all around we should be able to stretch our finances to pick up a second lower priced cb for width incase of injuries or fixture congestion

VDB's wages were quite high though I give him credit because he didn't moan about not playing & how he was phased out. I want VDB out for the sake of his career. Benfica = RC(with payment terms possible) or close to the RC and all upfront. They wont sell Neves for less. They dont have to. And if he keeps his current development next summer a club will pay the full RC value anyways. If United realy wants they could sign him. I guess in the new PSR Window the funds would be availible. But United cant afford to put all eggs in one basket atm. The squad needs such a great overhaul that a single player eats a huge chunk of the transfer budget is not doable. The only way would be Rushford or Bruno leaving for a big fee.

Well the academy has oftentimes saved us before. We have Amad Diallo as a creative winger although that's not what we need if we'll be using zirkzee dropping deep and get the wide players to really attack the box. Rashford and Garnacho are perfect for that but if we'll be using højlund it will be good to have Amad as a creative outlet

All of the academy is there i'd say that's the most important. The new signings won't come until after the euros or Copa America but then we'll get De Ligt,Zirkzee and Ugarte when they've finished their tournaments. The academy has a chance to pæay with more established players against teams that are in a whole other strength bracket so i'd say we let the academy deal with it
