Still better than todays coverage!!!! Bring back these 2 for commentary full-time!
Do they still commentate?
Yes, they still do the WSOP on PokerGO.
I think the production is better, they went into the stories and backgrounds of these guys and the players weren't robots from the online world, they had personality.
@@ianburns3358 I think if they still did production like this you could get these guys personalities out there a bit.
I can’t stand the way the WSOP is run now…absolutely terrible I can’t even watch it. PokerGo has destroyed poker as it is
Man,I love this shit.
Binge watching this for several days now.
Norm MacDonald saying "At least I have my health" 😢
These videos have been awesome content. Keep going all the way up to the present year lol
The real Jamie Gold calling off half his stack with 23 suited.
3 hours! Thanks pokergo, so many good memories
Chris Moneymaker's interview is a breath of fresh... Most people would take the humble route... Chris says "yeah I can't go to a poker room and just play without people wanting an interview, pictures, or talking... yes it is taxing, but I'd rather have it this way."
It feels like Gold just won yesterday and now we're back.
Calling an all in with Jack high; I hope I can get these players in a main event table one day
bet he thought he had J8
Yeah- that’s gotta be a mis click. Insane 😂
why would you ever... do stuff like that? I don't understand.. like I don't really even play Poker.. just enjoy watching some of the events and I would know NOT TO DO THAT.
Garret from Hustler Live disliked this comment 😂
Thanks Pokergo for uploading this unique wsop 2007 edition. I think this wsop was one of the most exciting wsop tournement ever.
You can tell just by looking at jamies face that he never planned to pay anyone anything
Yeah i mean he thinks were stupid theres no way the guy wouldve sued him so quickly unless he was given clear indication gold was not going to pay him, i just always wondered how much the settlement was, i dont think we ever found out
I wonder how much money Annie Duke jacked from that charity?
Seeing norm macdonald at 1:06:30 put a huge smile on my face, came out of nowhere. So many legends in this video
Haven’t seen these since I watched it on television. Thanks!!!
Scotty Nguyen babyyyyy
Jaime Gold complaining about getting unlucky. CMON MAN!
This is the REAL Jamie Gold, without incredible luck and monster stack
NEVER STOP POSTING THIS
annie duke saying "theres so much money in the poker world" really didnt age well
Black dudes that you never heard of are ALWAYS the best at whatever they are doing
Lol😂
Devilfish Dave Ulliott a character in poker and life, hope his boys are doing ok. I always enjoyed his play and his patter. RIP Devilfish
I miss Devilfish so much
Did you know he was a career criminal, part of a "heist gang" in the UK, before getting married and finding poker?
@@colintimp1372 yes, but also can't believe everything you hear
@@colintimp1372 i knew he had been in trouble with the law but not at what level, i miss him
Norman and Lon keep saying poker boomed because of Moneymaker... Whats ironic is it could have been anybody... The Poker Boom was because of ESPN'S beautiful coverage and Norman and Lon.
they definantly all played a big part, another one is the hole card cam made it way better viewing on TV.
Do you know Chris’s story behind playing? That is what hooked new players. Satellite with his last bank roll and a maxed out credit card, he tried to sell his seat but had no takers so ended up playing. He was terrified to play a hand until he settled into it. His run is well worth rewatching.
Technically it was Rounders that caused the boom. If it hadn't been for that movie, online poker wouldn't have taken off like it did; and Moneymaker probably wouldn't have ever been heard of. I started playing in 1999, and cardrooms were pretty full before 2003. They certainly got busier after though. A ton of easy money to be made.
@breakit46 if it was crappy coverage, it wouldn't have mattered, if the 2002 WSOP was filmed like 2003, Robert Valkorni would have been internationally famous in the poker community. I believe Chris Moneymaker's win and story created the ONLINE poker boom.
@@colintimp1372 I'm with ya on getting more people in the seats, but Rounders didn't do much.
Lol blinds 50/100 and Brunson raises it up to 700, aaaah the old days 😀
Where?
That’s actually not that crazy. When you are 500bb deep you can raise much bigger, especially if there are limpers.
I still don’t think it’s that uncommon.. 200 bigs, people tend to get impatient or want to play more meaningful pots
he opened... @@jeremymathis5041
He is called by a worse hand.
Its kinda wild to hear them talking about Lisandro and Elezra's "First bracelets" now that they're both in the 5+ club.
PokerGo finally realized there’s more money to be made from putting TH-cam ads on old content than charging a subscription fee for it ;)
I loved this coverage! So much excitement. Hopefully it will get back to this one day.
"Thanks for nothing" is EXACTLY what I'd imagine Jeffrey Lisandro whould say to alot of people.
Yeah, the guy is a scumbag.
If you listen to Joe Hackem, his Australian "How could I?" does sound like "I call" I know he wasn't trying to say it, or angle shoot... (subject change- It would be hard playing a game not 100% knowing the U.S. English language- when the game is $10k and your words words and understanding your opponents words is so important.
I guess?? But I clearly heard it, granted we have microphones and what not to catch his voice better, maybe on the table it sounded more like "I call".. his opponent was probably a bit anxious to get that call as well, the dealer and no one else didn't say anything about it though.. which does make me think that it was clear enough that he never said "I call" or anything like it.
Hellmuth played that AK so BAD. Unbelievable how a ‘pro’ could build that pot pre and somehow end up losing.
Phil Hellmuth runs really bad in those massive tournaments. He is a great player. The bracelets prove it
garret adelstein at 25:10
Scotty is so sweet!!!! The Prince!!
He's a horrible person; drinks to excess and abuses women.
That was the first year where the hype was over
The first year where you felt the plateau. I was at and played in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008... 05 was amazing, it was a party environment. 06 seemed less, more corporate. 07 was way more corporate. ESPN coverage was so good in 2003-2007 that they made numerous celebrities out of Poker players. I haven't been back since 2008.
you know nothing lol
GOATed coverage
"You gonna play as good as you drive?" Haha... I wouldn't doubt Phil crashed that car on purpose... Phil cannot feel embarrassment, if there is a camera within view, Phil will do whatever it takes to get in front of it.
I've never seen someone look so petrified as Cohen did in the all-in hand against Doyle. He looked like he was gonna get whacked if he lost
Norm being funny after losing 110,000
I wish I can play at the wsop 😢
Early 2000s was the best for poker. Players still had personality and weren’t just numbers nerds with no emotion or personality. I want Tony G everywhere
Man Brad Garrett would be insufferable to play with
Lon and Norm on another level this whole episode. They are amazing
They are amazing but I guess coming up to retirement age so probably not able to do the long hours needed for live commentary and Nick S and Ali do a great job too.
Garrett licking that guys forehead WTF 😂@ 19:19
That was cool, imagine him doing these days with covid. Back in the day you could lick a mans forehead and still take their chips and all with smiles all round.
He was pretending it was his taint.
Gold up against a real pro here was fun to watch
I mean he did beat plenty of real pros in 06. He just had a lot of luck and played perfectly. Maybe his heart wasn't completely in this one either after winning in 06 as well. Plus he couldn't use arguably his best weapon as much, his voice due to new rules
I'm glad they still have these videos on line even if they are absolutely full of disgraced professionals who can't show their faces anywhere.
There goes my day…
Jamie Gold is atleast honest to himself about how he played
I agree with user, add Tara Scott and you got the perfect crew.
How did the field shrink so much from 06? 12 mil to 8 mil first prize?
Online poker entries were cracked down on by the feds
Mortgage market crash of late ‘06 / early ‘07 didn’t help
More Poker ♠♥♦♣
only thing i got from this episode was urge to look up ayahuasca
Jen/Marco's kids are about 17/18 now. I believe they've devorced since then though.
1:53:18 this made me bust out laughing haha. He should hv never called the bet now look at him loll
What tshirt and hoodie is the Devil Fish wearing? Cheers
I guess golds luck ran out. Anyone can win if you get lucky but eventually luck gets cold.
1:45:09 if this dont make u smile somethings wrong.
2:04:31
"A $5 cigar in a 3% hand..." Nice quip!
1:13:03 ouch, wonder if he knew then and was cracking a dark joke that no one understood at the time
IF I ever get knocked out of the main event from Scotty Nyuen, I'll tell him, YOU SUCK BABY😅😂.
The fact that Hellmuth crashed his race car the day before but still wore all his gear & even brought a helmet despite the fact that he arrived in a Limo 🙄 Heavy cringe from Phil
Mike Matt folded 2 pair when he was getting 4x on the call. 👎 bad play. I guess you could say he tilted like his hat says 😅 lol.
lol Doyle Brunson with some questionable plays.
did eli win that bet
So their betting 50k they'll win the WSOP main event with No odds ? Eli free rolling in the main event forever
the bet was to win a bracelet during the series, in any event. there is something like50 events?... Doyle talks more about the bet on an episode of poker after dark and mentions getting 10 to 1 on each bet or something, so just one person he bet on has to win a bracelet and he wins 500k
then i gotta know how this played out, did any of them win a bracelet & in what event ?
@twoforone241 nobody won that year Doyle lost 500k.. probably made millions in cash games every year though. He always said the series was a way to get more people in town for the cash games. 💸
🤑
Bull-doz-er!!!
Worst call in main event history @ 39:07
That's why I don't play AQ, even if it's suited, Flop top 2 and just know you have way the best hand, dead to Ace, Sey of QQs
Brad Garrett is so much funnier than Romano
Yeah but everybody loves Raymond
I think he seemed obnoxious.
Brad Garrett has terrible etiquette. I would hate to be at his table.
Back when watching the WSOP was entertaining and fun…now they’ve dang near turned it into watching golf you might fall asleep watching this mess 😴
A lot of them are dead now.
Doyle, Devilfish, Norm Macdonald, Sam Simon

unwanted touching/sexual harassment @ 19:59
C'mon, nothing funny.
Jaime just wasn’t on it. If he was, he would have won again.
I'd love to see some more of the old days!
