The One That Got Away is the thirty-third main mission in Marvel's Spider-Man. Yuriko Watanabe calls Spider-Man to give him a lead on Martin Li's location. Meanwhile, Mary Jane Watson is at Grand Central Station, and encounters Martin Li as he attempts to release Devil's Breath.
Yuri calls Spider-Man after Silver Sable recovers Morgan Michaels, letting him know they have located a vehicle that matches that of the one Martin Li took after stealing the Devil's Breath with his Inner Demons.
As Spider-Man heads there, Dr. Michaels, using one of Sable's radios, calls Spider-Man to inform him that transit hubs are the most likely release for Devil's Breath, and how he regrets ignoring the risks Devil's Breath posed while he worked on it. When Spider-Man arrives at Yuri's location, he finds the car empty. He also cannot reach Mary Jane Watson to warn her about the Devil's Breath.
Meanwhile, Mary Jane is at Grand Central Station, where several advertisements for Oscorp technology are present. As she views an advertisement for the Gaia Microbe Dispersal Device, Martin Li arrives behind her, and he and his Demons take control of the station. Li calls Norman Osborn to order him to come to Grand Central Terminal alone in thirty minutes or he will kill more people.
Mary Jane is forced into the center with the others, but manages to reach Spider-Man for help. Spider-Man deduces that Li's plan is to force Osborn to release Devil's Breath himself, making him responsible. Spider-Man enters, but drones patrolling make him unable to act.
When Mary Jane works with him in order to steal the control tablet for the drones, she is interrupted when one of the prisoners decides to attack the Demons. With no other recourse, she reveals herself as a reporter, insisting she can assure Osborn arrives on time so long as they do not kill the prisoner. When they agree, she leads one of the them to another part of the building, where Spider-Man attacks and webs him up.
After Mary Jane disables the drones using the tablet, Spider-Man and Mary Jane work together. They have a difference of opinion on their partnership, where Spider-Man urges her to leave and promises to return for Devil's Breath later, but Mary Jane refuses due to the people in danger. With Spider-Man's help, Mary Jane is able to get back to the bomb to diffuse it.
Once diffused, Spider-Man takes out more of the Demons stealthily. When enough have been disabled, Spider-Man gives the all-clear for the hostages to flee, and Mary Jane leads them to safety. Martin Li ends up being in one of the subway cars below, and Spider-Man follows him and battles him in a subway car. Spider-Man apprehends Li and stops the runaway subway train, with Li sent to the Raft. Afterward, awkward texts with Mary Jane, who is not yet ready to talk on the phone, suggest she might be considering their relationship over, though she suggests she may call him the next day. Yuri calls Spider-Man to congratulate him as Li is sent to the Raft while Devil's Breath is secured by Sable.
