⚠️ 2:56 Attention! This video tutorial contains a mistake. The rear disc tightening torque is 20 Nm, not 52 Nm. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

One of the two bolts on the top mount is half covered by the plastic liner. It's a struggle to get a socket on it. If enough of the rusted self tappers are removed it's easy to get a socket and extensions behind the plastic. Also a small (forget size) open ended or shifting spanner or locking grips (which will bite into the metal) can be used to lock the chrome slider and a (16mm I think) swan neck ring spanner can be used to undo and then redo the top nut. By the time the spanner fouls on whatever method is used to hold the slider the nut is loose enough to just hand hold the chrome slider and undo the final threads.

it gets jacked up at @1.04 - is this important?

Yes, unless you want the rear axle to slam down when you remove the lower bolt. Jacking it up releases the tension on the bolt and makes it easier to remove ;-)

Make sure to jack it up on a socket so it can take your hand off when it slips and the rear axle comes crashing down 😂😂 Jesus christ that is so unsafe.
