    What about that black adhesive strip, between the chassis and the bottom of the screen, that was initially removed?

    Hey, great guide. What is the spec of the nvme retaining screw? My iMac didn’t ship with an nvme so the socket is there for mounting but no screw.

    • @poweredbyowc

      The retaining screw looks like it is a 5.3mm Screw.

    Hello, I have a question, I want to install a 2TB drive in my iMac late 2013 A1418 but I get that message on Amazon (PCIe 4.0 SSDs can only be installed in 21.5-inch iMac models that come with an SSD or Fusion drive installed from the factory), when I bought my computer I only bought it with an HDD installed and not with a Fusion drive, I personally opened my iMac and installed a normal SSD and I saw the slot for a PCIe but. Can I install it?

      This will be dependent on if you have a Mac that came factory installed with a HDD only, Fusion Drive, or SSD only. Depending on which is is, will determine if it does or not.

      I would recommend reaching out to our team directly (eshop.macsales.com/Service/). As when it comes to Mac's, knowing the specific Mac is important. We typically look for the Model ID when it comes to compatibility, but the reason I recommend contacting us directly is that there is also other things that are important to keep in mind to. Give us a call and we would be happy to help find what is best suited for your needs. :)

    What is the maximum storage an iMac 21.5 Late 13 identifier iMac14,1 can hold on ssd?

    • @poweredbyowc
      @poweredbyowc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi EnAna! Does the iMac14,1 have a SATA drive, a flash blade, or a Fusion drive? If the iMac14,1 has the proper port on the logic board, it can use the largest capacity SSD available, but if it has only a SATA drive it won't have a PCI (flash) port, and vice versa.

    Hello. I have iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display 2019 A2115 EMC 3194 iMac19,1 3.0 GHz with Fusion HDD and i want to upgrade it with OWC 1TB Aura N2 M.2 PCIe SSD - it is fully compatible with my iMac? (waking up from sleep, powernap, filevault, bootcamp etc.) Thanks

    • @poweredbyowc
      @poweredbyowc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the details! We only support Aura N2 for Macbooks (Pro 2013-2015/Air 2013-2017) or Mac mini 2014. The iMac requires Aura Pro X2. There are rare issues with sleep, which can be averted by ONLY checking "Prevent sleep when display off" in the Energy Saver System Preferences, as well as following our Terminal command guide:

    • @poweredbyowc

      Hey Alan, sorry to hear it's not showing up. 2 things to check, make sure you're on operating system 10.13 or later. If you are make sure you are booting your computer into internet recovery mode. (CMD+Option+R) once in Disk Utility select View>Show All Devices and the drive should appear. I'm linking a guide here on how to format Aura Pro X2/Aura N2 SSD's.

    I purchased this type of iMac with standard HDD. Is it available to upgrade it to SSD while also add PCIe SSD? And if yes, when starting the computer, which drive will be recognized as the boot drive?

    • @poweredbyowc
      @poweredbyowc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Frank. In order to do this, the machine would have had to come with Apple with a Fusion drive. Since it did not, the necessary PCIe connection will not appear on the logic bard.
      The HDD can be upgraded to a 2.5" SATA SSD, yes.
