@ Thank you!! I’ve been following your channel for sometime as it is my dream to one day get my mba from UPenn and transition into a Hedge Fund or open my own RIA firm. I know you might hear this all the time but your insight and knowledge is very valuable to a lot of people!!
It would be really helpful if you could talk about potential other path into PE without IB background or consulting. How possible for a buy side analyst to land an opportunity in a PE shop? And which shops are more open to nonconventional candidates
I'm definitely curious as to how easy the IB-to-PE transition is. Would it be too far to say that _anyone_ who's survived JPM or GS for two years has what it takes to succeed in PE, or is there still a ton of extra work you need to put in to stand out?
i'd say if you set your mind to it and have already gotten to a top bank then you can get into PE. just may not get into a top shop. lot of ppl such as myself self-select themselves out of the PE process as well since it's not for them
Hey Ben, thanks for these videos - super valuable. I’m curious if you have details on the PE recruitment for IB associates (post-MBA)? Interested to hear more about how different it is than analysts.
not really i'd say cfa is a plus but more important for you to have industry experience or apply during the right time (e.g. after undergrad which is for top schools only and after IB)
Ben,I'm going to select my degree.I want to work at a wall street investment bank so May I know what is the most particular major for getting into investment banking?I hope to do a finance degree or an economics degree. Is there a better chance for STEM degree holder than finance related degree holders. Please tell me what should I do?
Hey Ben, thanks for these videos I have got two thing to ask: is it possible to land PE with TS experience in Big 4 (more actual financial modeling related role) + MBA M7 or T15 + CFA. And what do you think about MBA -> IB -> PE transition?

Can only CFA charter get me somewhere in industry or not ??

Top masters is better entry to top PE firm. Skip the CFA
