When Bungo said the mode would be Fortress I didn't think they meant that the fortress would be made out of bubbles.
And to add insult to injury, require void or stasis subclass to progress the challenges.

If Bungie had paid me to think of a mode as deliberately unfriendly to hunters as possible, I doubt I could’ve done a better job than they did.
@@davidhodge0201 that's only 18 games you have to play that way per character. After that you should use any subclass. You must remember that bubbles are not indestructible. Here's a list of what can destroy bubbles: Nova Bomb, it's better to use Cataclysm because after the initial impact destroys the bubble the other projectiles seek enemies. Hunters with Celestial Nighthawk gunslinger can destroy a bubble, so can the Thousand Knives super. I think Titans only have the Code of the Missile super.

Freelance is suffering, so I'm glad to see you're making the rest suffer with us. They really need to tweak the mercy rule for this mode, it's far more difficult to pull a comeback than in other modes. You really can't make up the sixty plus point difference a lot of teams in this video had, and it's not uncommon to see that kind of score difference.
once they have around 50+ more points than the opponent team it's alm8st impossible to comeback timewise,

Playing this mode with friends is fun winning or loosing, but playing freelance is a nightmare.
I agree, 90% of the time your team doesn't play OBJ, im sitting at like a 20% win in freelance. Always get the short end of the stick
I always prefer freelance. I know I won't get hunted down by a 6 man trials team because I outplayed one or two people
Amen. Nobody plays the objective nor challenges Bubbles & Wells except me. I'm done once I finish up my pinnacles. Stasis Warlock and Witherhoard seem to hard counter just about everything in it on my skill bracket but all of that is irrelevant without back up.
I've been playing freelance this week and I've only won 3 games out of the 20+ I've played.
Honestly it's fun either way, you either hard win and ape or just chill back and collect kills pissin people off.
Hell losing is better cause the games end fast and you get to the rewards faster.
Simple solution for me would be that when Caitail calls in the drop, she demands to see actual gunplay and abilities are disabled for the duration of the special zone.
I've been saying this all week, just have supers suppressed while the cap zone is up. It would even fit lore wise since the cabal HAVE THE TECH!!!!
@@russha Lorewise I'm pretty sure Caitail would not be impressed by watching a cluster of guardians hunkering down behind walls and doing everything they can to not actually engage with the enemy. I'm pretty sure with the mode as it's played right now she and her war council would be mocking the guardians while Saladin became a laughingstock to them.

To my fellow Titans. If ur sick of bubble banana may i suggest trying Synthos with Ballistic slam on Arc Titan. Just launch urself in the direction of the largest group of enemies and then proceed to punch ur way out making use of Knockout and spark of feedback to keep the punches rolling...Also the synthos perk lasts for 8s once u are not surrounded....shhhh dont tell bungo its not busted i swear...

They will not, this has been in many videos befor and this has been around for almost the entire life cycle of destiny 2.

This gives me flashback of the fun times my clan Bubble Buddy Beatdown had in D1 doing bubbletrains across the the map with 5 alpha lupis and one helm of Saint 14 to scare the enemies into wondering what bubble had it.
"Submerge yourself in the cheese" is Destiny 2 PvP in a nutshell no matter what meta it is. 👍
A simple counter would be to have Catil drop more drop pods say 5-10 secs after the initial turrets get destroyed. Would force players off the point or outright kill them.
I haven’t been able to get on lately to play as much, but I love when Aztecross puts out a video or two (or more) so I can watch them after work. Thanks, buddy. You’ve made my days that much more delightful.
I’ve been reminding a lot of bubble titans that a vortex sword instantly kills them regardless of whether or not they’re in their safe space
I'm a bubble titan. I embrace this counter strategy. If we have no challenge, how can we grow stronger?
As a titan main I use this crayon eater strat to destroy other crayon eaters

Relying on heavy is not a safe counter and still doesnt prevent the orb regen train. Your going to loose regardless because 6 stack bubble titan never looses

Very good counter to this is Nova Bomb Vortex. I’ve destroyed 3 bubbles at once with one nova. Or if you want them off the point just slap a nova on the outside edge of the circle and it’ll pull them outta the bubble 😂 very fun. Also just charging in a bubble and casting silence and squall works fairly well.

The problem with this is that bubbles have a lower cooldown than nova bomb.
The next emblem they give us will be that of a titans ward of dawn. “You endured the iron dawn and prevailed!”
Such a chaotic game mode! Ran into a few groups like this in Freelance (way to go RNG!). Popping Glacial Quake and filling all the bubbles with stasis crystals is hilarious lol

Stasis Titan. Slamming into a bubble shatters all the crystals and kills everyone inside.
Add Hoarfrost-Z into the mix if you don't have your super in time.. Lots of fun. So many team wipes this week, Finally Stasis Titan feeling good again.
Behemoth is my favourite counter to bubbles (although it’s not consistent) I love smacking the bubble titan with the melee and send them flying across the map. The desperation they have to get back to their bubble is so funny

I'll give a sleeper tip to the hunters and warlocks out there to deal with us Titans doing this. Scorch and Ignitions go through armor of light. If you can get one in there, a solar nade can ignite everyone inside a bubble... I have been killed ebough by this that I vowed never to forget.
I agree. If you see Dawn Chorus, just run. Prefferably away from your team, you're getting exploded anyway.
If DestinyFunPolice could see Aztec doing the 6-man bubble strat in Iron Banner, just like he & his friends did back then (& hopefully now, cause I haven't seen a new vid from him), *he'd be proud to see the Titan monstrosity* that is Aztec.
Tip for doing this: stagger your bubble locations. This will make it harder for blade barrage, nova and most importantly thunder crash to pop all you bubbles.
Also idk if it works with bubble but power preservation makes more orbs from supers.

Simplest counter I've used is a vortex novabomb warlock with high interlect and maybe skull of dire ahamkara. Breaks a bubble and kills all inside it instantly. Skull gives super back faster so you have it again for the second mid zone each match

Reminds me of chaining bubbles in D1 for entire games because orb generation was so ridiculous, then having a hunter constantly pop golden gun. SO much fun lol
You were able easily in 6s upto a few seasons ago and still somewhat able to do it now. Needs a well lock and some crests iirc.
A solution/buff to nighthawk. Nighthawk causes the old headshots give super energy behavior that got removed in solar 3.0. Nighthawk also pierces the bubble in addition to destroying it, letting you kill the occupant inside
Cawk needs to shoot a kamehameha from your goldy evaporating anything in a straight line with 2 meters width projectile.
I get it's a counter, but when you're supposed to be using Void or Stasis for pinnacles as a hunter you're handcuffed into running headfirst with a Silence and you only get one of those, maybe two if you slay out and get some orbs.
@@blackout2189 this is a general fix. I think that nighthawk charging itself more quickly would also be a solution in trials as well
There’s nothing more satisfying like going against a bunch of bubbles while invisible,throwing a single tether in the middle and proceeding to throw a granade…. Many beautiful explosions!🤗🤗🤗

My friends and I made it a point to have at least 4 Arcstriders on our team. It was all fun and games for the titans until we popped our supers.
Light attack, Light attack, Heavy attack kills the tian and brings down the bubble.
That’s a great idea. You just have to wait to complete a TIME GATED EIGHTEEN MATCHES OVER FOUR DAYS before you can use anything but Stasis or Void without intentionally MASSIVELY hindering your own progress.
Not if a titan pops the bubble and runs to the back of the map

Easy way to fix this?
Make Anti-Barrier go past bubble and barricades but lose some damage as it passes through. Makes it to where you can still damage inside. Also forces players to give up a mod slot/exotic to deal with barricades and bubbles.

I feel like my 94 stability disparity is unstoppable unless I'm fighting against bxr. Bxr shoots so fast it's hard to out shoot it with a much slower firing pulse
The only way I have been able to counter this is max intellect arc hunter raju’s harness, use the three strike lighting bolt to melt bubbles, only thing you need to worry about is stasis and tether.
I mean an ignition build such as Coolguy's Caliban hand could cause ignition chain explosion inside bubbles......I know in a 1v1 or 1v3 (such as in trials) it works great as counter specially if the user is good with it......what if a full stack of ignition build players go against 6 bubble Titans?
Sadly I don't have that many friends or players to try theory out with......if some1 tryed it out pls let me know the result 👍

despite the annoyance of bubble titans im actually (somehow) as a hunter still loving the game mode in general (despite as a hunter chances of winning are minimal agasint teams of titans
The best hunters can do is put a tether on the cabal point to prevent the titans bubbles in the first place, most of the time however we cannot get the super before the point appears.

One warlock with sun bracers and 1 or 2 aspects on. Will kill anything in a bubble or well with just 1 grenade. The best part is that people just stand there because they think oh its just a grenade..... until the stacks kick in.... then boom... you're welcome.

Cross I want to start by saying I absolutely love your videos and have been watching your videos for years now. I like that you are bringing attention to this problem that Bungie definitely needs to address, because I will be the first to say this is exactly why I stay away from the crucible. When it gets to the point where the only thing you can do to combat this is to hope to get a full stack of competent, equally skilled players to drop bubbles on zones...its like what are we playing again. I know the easy answer that most people will say in response is get good or don't play it and I would whole heartedly agree...and wait for bungie to release statements that says we were 6 weeks away from zero player count or something like that.

Not sure if it still works, but Landfall when activating Stormtrance used to pop bubbles in one go. So that might be the strategy for arc warlock.

i remember back in d1 you could just go into pvp with all bubbles and have infinite supers. this is like that

They just are strong in different aspects and apparently you aren't good enough to counter
I’ve been able to play against this lol. Just use stasis and decent team coordination. It’s the meta for a reason.

First mistake was assuming Bungie puts much forethought into anything.
Ok I just have to say it, as a former hunter now warlock main "This" is heresy... This is completely insane and this is probably the most seen strat I've seen as of lately and honestly... You guys making me considering my class choices, however nova bomb is my only offensive counter to it, like most one and done supers should be even dawn blade with the team wipe, if done correctly especially being slower, hunter's... Maybe arc staff but spectral blades definitely gets pooped on when even trying to attack despite it's quickness so it's pretty much useless in my opinion from what I've tested but then again I suck at hunter and well idk maybe titan bubble is too OP since I've seen other hunter's just fail miserably trying to super people inside of those and getting melee'd and shot to death
Besides the warlocks using Nova bomb to clean house which always works and more common that I've seen but that's just my opinion, but one thing for certain... This is no longer iron banner, this is titan banner and I'm afraid of it ._.
This might actually get me to play the team version of the mode. Not because I want to join in but, because I don't like the game mode and wish it end as quickly as possible. Trying to get to that new IB shader is gonna take at least 60 matches :(
yah i got the shader the other day, at least the second prestige was much quicker than the first, and todays rep bonus is gunna make it much easier

Vortex nova bomb is amazing against bubbles, but a guardian can only do so much against 6 of em laugh out loud

The problem is that, when using crest and high intelect, your titan is the first to have super. After that with the orbs everyone has super, I can pop bubble 3x in a match if I have 2 other bubble, 2x every match by myself.

Its funny when the entire enemy team stacks in a bubble cuz i've just been running well(after the challenges were done) and placing it outside the bubble and just witherhoard and scorch+ignite on everybody in the bubble, its entertaining having a mosh pit and healing through it all.

Cross, you can make wells in that game mode, meaning you could make a void well, run stacks on stacks and energy converter, giving you near half your super once you pop it
I definitely liked the previous season iron banner game mode much more. It actually felt new and it was a little broken but it just felt more fun for me.
Eruption was soooo fun.
Yea, ability spam and faster super regen is ass. Eruption can stay gone.
This is the highest quality of entertainment I’ve ever seen
The strat to counter this is surprisingly simple but risky play. Stasis Warlock with Frostpulse. Jump into the enemy bubble and pop the rift to instantly freeze anyone. Shotgun melee or Glaive the Sentinel and they can’t do anything.
Granted, multiple bubbles screw up the strat.
Use the arc staff combo that adds a pulmstrike at the end, vortex swords, and thundercrash/novabomb to counter this. Certain other roaming supers can sometimes win too but it's not as common

Good thing Freelance exists, that way it can’t be precoordinated. I’ve seen bubble is meta for it, but I’ve not encountered enough people who are actually doing this in freelance for it to be oppressive. But you better believe every Titan I’ve seen is using it.

Honestly, good for Sentinel Titan. I'm not even a Titan (I'm a Hunter) and this has been some of the most fun team play I've seen in Banner in a while. There's a good amount of counters to this, especially if someones just expecting to win because they put a bubble down. That's not the point though. Ya'll are clearly having fun with a viable playstyle and I solo queue anyways so a full team of coordinated void titans is definitely an edgecase for me lol

As solo PvP player this experience is about right. Joined a game mid match the other day to see 4 bubble titans in the other team.
