Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

I hope they manage to tweak the difficulty of going through the tunnels as I know some of the EVO's struggled with it and if the failure rates are high it will not inspire people to make the leap through it.
🙏 yeah, there’s currently no “on-ramp” to get you acclimated to speed. Right now it feels like being catapulted and then there’s a curve in the tunnel to greet you at the entrance. 😅
There will be LOTS of tweaking, adjustments and bug fixing, don't worry about it. This is what testing is for.
There wasn't difficulty. There was server lag and server not taking inputs

Evo was very fun even if it had many server and client crashes
You were not alone and the good point of the crashes is that the servers always recovered.
I got in towards the end and got stuck in the wormhole tunnel in an infinite loop server error. Tunnel Tunes are awesome for sure, with the additional sounds of like you're on an old wooden sailing ship ...

Jump tunnels are not supposed to be an easy in and out affair. Even in the lore of Star Citizen, they talked about how they were certain jockeys that were used in the early days to navigate these. I made it through on my first try and I might not represent the entire community but at some point, there are some things that are meant to be special and thus can nd should be learned. CIG wants to make the prospect of jumping from one star system to the other a choice that you have to make with risk involved.
Do you think some jump will be easier than others? Like certain jumps between some systems might have a more stable jump vs some are extremely volatile to try but only by the best pilots. Be interesting to see if they have stable vs non stable or maybe even at times stable jumps become unstable? I'd like for it to be random.
Cannot recommend getting a Tobbi enough.

We did but this was really just a focus test on server transitioning and the jump point mechanics for CIG to get some numbers.
Patch was good, perhaps even surprised CIG hence the 1 hour extension. Unfortunately I got caught in a CTD death loop at the end along with a few others entering the Jump points. A couple of the Pyro stations were Death Pens but extremely good start for a 1st iteration. Frame rates on the whole pretty good, server tik rate acceptable and man oh man the feel of Pyro and the soundscape is amazing. Looking forward to the next test. Oh and Yes Space cows are in.

And it will be next year... idk why you people think 4.0 will actually go live this year just because it went to PTU... it was completely broken as always, idk where people see all this positive stuff I see a team struggling with a engine thats a decade old, too lazy to even reset the cargo elevators on all shards... nah lets keep em broken on all shards for over 30 days why not, thats a good company with good User Service, just have one of the main new features be broken for over a month

@@ErikLiberty Uh I think that was 3.23? Or 3.22 or smth with almost a year of PTU, Like alot of people I kinda hop on and off SC. Been disappointed too many times so sometimes I just gotta deinstall that sht and take some months off

Happy as hell for this... but...No way there going to have open wave 1 befor Citcon.. Im sure it will be Nov befor we see the 1st wave one build.. that IF they can get it stable. my money is on Jan LIVE drop.. 10-12weeks in PTU

It was an NDA'd E-PTU playtest, and although E stands for Experimental and not Evo, it is still a PTU channel. This time around was for Evocati members only, but a few weeks ago, it was open to all backers (server meshing playtests). There is only PU (official) channel and PTU (testing) but PTU comes in flavours pending on CIG's needs and wants! Thus, no clickbait here ;)
EVO PTU is the correct and clear description I believe.
Bro I am so fascinated by you people. You instantly forget everything bad that has happened as soon as you get one little glimpse of hope. Stop thinking 4.0 will go live this year, stop thinking 4.0 will be the solution to SC's problems. Cargo elevators have been broken for over 30 days on all shards, I know the Cryengine and I know that Star engine is literally just a modified Cryengine. Resetting the elevators would take hours, not more, a few hours and the problem is fixed. The fact CIG doesnt give a sht about the current players playing the game, doesnt give a sht about the CURRENT issues of the game, is PROOF that 4.0 will be just as buggy as always, will 100% be delayed, stop forgiving companies so easily when people literally cant forgive Ubisoft for HISTORICAL ACCURACY reasons. Fcking emberassing times we live in
I have been and always will be excited for 4.0. If this fabled second system were to ever finally grace my pc with a jump point of glory, I imagined my excitement to be uncontainable. Unfortunately as it approaches I find my myself pensive, and a little deflated at the loss of my damn power triangle! 🫡🔻😢
