      youre right,most of his students are very poor for black belts.The only good one is philip ameris and thats because he trained outside tkd.If you want to learn to use your hands you need to go to a boxing or kickboxing school.Its the same with their grappling,terrible because their instructors arent trained grapplers.you cant just take some techs from different arts and expect to integrate them into a traditional art unless they are taugth by competent coaches with yrs of experience in those arts.

      @@MaharlikaAWA being good at any discipline doesnt make him a good coach,they demand entirely different sets of skillsets.You are not any kind of master,a 7th degree has always been the designated grade for a tkd master right back from the 1960s.Self defense STUFF is an outright joke unless you drill and spar with those techs gainst escalating resistance.

    • @MaharlikaAWA
      @MaharlikaAWA 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scarred10 wow dude very rude of you. Only ITF Taekwon-Do makes such a high dan rank as master and even they mostly don't know how to fight. I was in agreement with your first comment. So why insult? Kukkiwon Taekwondo has always had 4th dan as a master instructor rank. There are 3 classes of master. The original kwan leaders were 4th dan and 5th dans in Japanese Karate. So your statemejt it has to be 7th is false.
      Also I agree that being good and also being a coach is not the same. As masterful as Hee Il Cho is he must not have been a good trainer for his students. So I agree with you there. I went to a boxing gym specifically to train my punches and make sure as a martial artist I am conplete. One of the best things I ever did. I also had private sessions with a boxing coach later as well. Sparring boxing is one great style of cardio.

    I have a sad but funny taekwondo story. Back in the 1980's I went to join a taekwondo school then noticed the teachers daughter was so pretty and never saw a pretty korean girl before.... Heck it was my first time seeing a korean girl so I thought after I signed up I better do my best to impress the teacher and
    maybe even become close with the girl. But it was not meant to be.
    After I got my uniform which was on order because I had to wait 2 weeks for the uniform to come in.
    So there I was! My uniform finally came in and rushed over to the school to start.
    My heart sank to my stomach. entire student body were all vietnam vets with missing legs and arms.
    One of the handcicapped looked at my facial expression and said out loud not to be ashamed for sparing with a handicapped.
    But after doing things like at 5:00 I left and knew I would never impress the teachers daughter and I left the class.
    I refused to beat up a cripple. sad sad sad.
