Hospitality is the closest to Philoxenia but it doesn't translate it exactly. Actually, there's no word for philoxenia in English
Philoxenia = friendly to the foreign ones .
The majority of the greeks are not " friendly" to the foreign ones because they believe in philoxenia but they use them as cheaper workers in their corporation 😢.
As many other countries might use some morals to promote them as better or best countries but the raw reality is not this one.

I was in Athens last October and I love how this video was filmed in all the touristic places: the Acropolis, the Monastariki square, the Syntagma square (the Greek government), the Kalimarmori stadium (1896 Olympics)... I bet now there will be tourists listening to this song while visiting these places.

This reggaeton style rhythm is actually called syrtos and is very popular in traditional greek music :)

@@taspany oh sure I've seen the video she explains it's syrtos by playing from TATATA and forward!!!! Right in the beginning that's closer to reggeaton than glyka glykia mou. NOthing wrong with it, it's familiar to peoples ears and a smooth transition to syrtos

For those who don't know greek in 4:23 she said " opa, hold on a minute!"
Also satti answer to a journalist the song look like a modern version of a traditional song glyka glyka by kelly kelekidou. its a beat you can find in a lot of songs. In few words its not a rhythm strange to greeks and the Valkans because zournas and tourbeleki are traditional instruments for ancient Greece. So, she mix traditional music with universal beats. But some greeks think its indian or regeatton. She get a lot of hate for it in greece. Classic!!

I will agree that Greeks and Italians have influenced each other in a high degree, but the Byzantines were Greeks (Greek language, Greek mentality and orthodox)

You start feeling the power of the song at the beginning with the instruments and the amazing voice, you think you know what will come after and then you are surprisingly face a crazy, strange, untraditional, but cool and cleverly subversive, and unique song supported by a Greek singer with an amazing presence, performance, and voice. The rhythm is unbeatable. I love this song. For this Eurovision is by far my favorite song.
