look at fret number one he had a tool that mute the open strings, so he didn't put too much effor doing the octaves, try to put a sock tied in the first fret and you will get the same effect and sound.
The power chord on the first fret is called the E power chord you just cover the 4th and 5th string leave the 6th open and mute the rest and play just the 4th 5th and 6th strings 😁

I’ve been practicing on and off for quite some years, but if you are a beginner and can practice correctly and consistently, you’ll get there probably in a year if not sooner, depends on how much time you have. I’ve seen kids learning guitar for only a year but can shred and melt faces lol... rock on!
