    The Townhall and fountain is an odd little building, that looks like something older repurposed. I would imagine under cover of the civil war much was removed.

    • @NickyBsHistory

    Iv got some photos id like to share with you of an amazing old house - it is totally Tartarian ,supposedly all the decor was added in 1880s but i reckon its actually original- theres noobs all over the turrets etc - im not on telegram or istagram though ?

    Bridgnorth is a beautiful town! We moved there in 1968 when I was two years old and when I was old enough I would play in the Leprosy Caves and disused railway tunnel.
    If you are wondering why there is a brick walk with window arches, it's because an old lady used to have a house built into the caves!!! 😮.
    During the Black death, loppers were sent to the caves to dwell out of the way of uninfected people.

    I live in a mudflood terraced house. And I'm convinced it used to be an old world massive building converted into a terraced row . The internal walls are to thin to be a normal house build. The internal walls are one brick thin,can here everything the neighbours do .and one one of the row of houses they're is a silly date of 1886. The house's are stone front but brick inner.. and I have the well I wouldn't even say half window..it's more just the top of the window that one can still see just above the pavement..

      @@NickyBsHistory theres a church just down the street from me said to have been built in the 1100's.. but no graves older than the 1800. there is one from the late 1700's but near to the 1800's.. what I have found is there are a set of stairs that go down to the cellar of the church.. and as you go down the steps at the bottom to the right is a blocked up doorway that would be going under the land to the side of the church. tiz a bit strange..

    • @NickyBsHistory
      @NickyBsHistory  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cheechmcduck7013 I'd be trying to get through that false wall👀
      Funny you mention the church.. I notice "J" on quite a few gravestones... The church close to me sits quite prominent on a hill and has a tunnel underneath it(my friends dad has lived here his whole life and swears he used to play in them as a child before they were blocked up and covered with earth)👀
      Makes you wonder what churches once were and what they still hide! Must be the reason they have the graveyards around the churches to stop folk going around and digging up the past... I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud🤷‍♂🤣

    The majority of those cellar holes and hatches are most likely coal shoots. It’s extremely common on houses of a certain age. We tend to ignore or forget they are they nowadays.
    The rest, I’d say were old stores for various uses and goods, ideal for keeping food stuffs cool as well.
    Sand stone is very easy to dig out or into.

    Would be great to interview some of the people living in these houses, Do they ever wonder why their property has arched windows + doors at ground level. Or do they think at all.
    Even local 'historians' , do they use their eyes at all? Or are they too busy copying from previous so called history books?
    What ever happened curiosity! 👍👍
